Preparations [1]

Raymond had already finished his daily routine. When he got home, he noticed how his mother seemed dejected. He then asked what the reason was, and when he learned the answer, he could only clench his teeth.

"At the market, no one would sell their products to me. I don't know what the reason is, but I feel like something was going on behind my back."

However, Raymond already knew it, and he also felt that Rowena already knew it too, but she just wanted to deny the fact.

"Mom, I will be the one buying the ingredients today. Since I don't usually go there, maybe they won't know that I am your son." Raymond suggested that made his mother silent.

Then, afterward, she sighed and said, "Alright. Here's the list. I am sorry for bothering you over this matter, Raymond. You have already worked too much, and you haven't even rested for the day."

"It is okay, Mom. I'll be going."

Raymond went to the marketplace, and fortunately, he had no complications with buying the ingredients. After that, he went back home and let his mother cook the dishes for the night.

Raymond knew that things were being orchestrated by that family of Fulgran's. Even though he didn't know the name of the family, as this matter in his memories was fixed without his knowledge, he still knew some possible actions they might do.

Inside his room, Raymond was contemplating.

"I already knew that they would cut off our source of food. In the market, they secretly gave Mother a black name so that the vendors would not sell her their items."

"However, it is not such a huge problem since I can handle buying it on my own. They must have been waiting for a few days to make us figure out what was happening and then torment us. But isn't this an obvious act? It is not quick revenge, but instead, they wanted to make us suffer."

"It is not a bad move, but I had already planned for it. And if they learn that we still have ways of putting something on our table, they will cut off another stem from our foundation. But what is it?"

"Things that I know that they might do include cutting off our source of fertilizer. It would be bad if that happened instantly, but it will take time for them to cut off our source of fertilizer since the process of allocating fertilizer is complex. They would root out the people who were managing every branch of the system first."

"Then, what is most possible is that they will restrict my father from hunting, making him focus on farming... Tsk. I still haven't finished practicing, and I can't let other officials see my worth. I need that specific person to show his interest in me."

However, Raymond's main problem was looking for that person. In his memories, he only got a lucky chance to meet with that person after the awakening ceremony, but since it would take almost a year before the ceremony and he needed an urgent solution, he needed to find him.

"That is only the problem... I don't have the power to search for that person as he came from the upper district of the village." Raymond mumbled.

But later on, he got an idea of what he could do to find that person.

"I know his name, but if I don't know how to get directly into him, I should create my own way."

Then, he was left with no other choice but to slowly expose his talents. If he could have the chance to make an acquaintance with a kind and higher person than himself, he would have a great card to fight with this.

Even though such a predicament involves his family, Raymond wasn't nervous about it. He was still calm as he knew how to fight them.

He could easily raise his worth in the village. Furthermore, he could be a genius and raise his family's importance to the village. But the only problem was that if he did it abruptly, he wouldn't be able to control on which side he should stay since the first person to look at him would be the winner.

Raymond was still from a lower family, and if he rejected an offer from a random upper family, it would also mean offending them. Even if he wasn't sure if it would really offend them, it was better to be safe.

"So... at the upcoming event, just at the perfect time, I will attract some little attention."

Recruitment is important for people, and the network you recommend would also benefit you. So, what is in Raymond's mind is that he will secretly climb a ladder by choosing a senior from the hunting group who will, later on, introduce him to a higher person. That is most likely, but variables may change.

"Then... I should prepare for Father's return to the farm. Since I am not really part of the hunting group, they won't be able to restrict me from joining them in practice."

***

The next morning, what Raymond had speculated had already happened. His father was restricted from joining the hunting group, and now Raymond had to practice on his own without his father.

But even still, the flow of his prediction was going smoothly. It wasn't still uncontrollable, and he still had more time to prepare. While those vermin continued to play with their lives, Raymond would slowly create the weapon to slay them.

"Wow... look at them becoming serious..." Raymond mumbled as he sat on his bench, looking at the practice of some newly awakened teenagers.

Raymond's eyes ventured into the area and searched for a particular person. The person he was looking for was apparently the most liked leader of a group, and he was also familiar with him since he was part of his memory.

He was the hunting practice teacher, Sir Hones.

"There you are..." Raymond muttered as soon as he saw Sir Hones.

Without wasting more time, when they took a break, Raymond started executing his plan to meet this person, but before he could, a senior of his called him for some help.

He was near to calling Sir Hones, but he couldn't decline the senior's request.

"Okay, I will just approach him later..." Raymond decided and helped the senior lift some of the monsters' carcasses.

"Wait... Why is this so heavy!" Raymond complained as he lifted the carcasses and had his balance unstable for a few seconds.

"I am sorry my junior, but mine is heavy too. Just keep on doing that. I will help you later after this."

Raymond nodded and tried to move with the heavyweight he was lifting, but unexpectedly, someone helped him lift the carcasses.

"Hey, kid, are you okay?"

Raymond didn't expect it. Just when he decided to let him off, that would also be the time when he would approach him by himself.

'Sir Hones...'

  • Reputation [4]

The three noble children were flabbergasted by Raymond's reply. They went silent, intently looking at him with their wide eyes. Then one of them spoke up about their demands."You do really want to go the hard way, commoner. Even if you have an A-grade, you are still a commoner, so you have to listen to us."Just as this person said, everyone was surprised. The other students came to a halt and began prying on the scene. They were loud at the time, and that was why they were grabbed onto the scene. However, what they could notice was that, no matter how infuriated the noble children were, Raymond remained calm and unbothered by their tantrums."Hey, commoner. Even if you are backed by General McWorthy, you don't have the right to ignore nobles. That doesn't mean that you are equal to us, even if you are an A-grade.""He is right. Be thankful and be honored that we invited you to join our group. You have been useful to us since you were performing well.""Are you actually a dimwit? If

"Ah, no, it is a casual question, it is not the actual question."Raymond smiled and nodded. "Will I have more points if I answer your question?"Kian was speechless, as were Raymond's classmates. They blankly looked at Raymond with disbelief because of his blunt words. He just blurted it out, and it ended up being an absurd question.Kian had a gap in his lips and he slightly gave an answer, which he was not sure was needed."You will have more points."Raymond was overjoyed. "Yes!" Then he faced Kian. "Okay, teacher, you may now ask me another question.""Does an awakened person have only one Talent?""No, because there is a second awakening and a third awakening. The second awakening mostly happens when the person has already mastered their Talent and has two pure Skills out of it. Meanwhile, the third awakening is so rare that no one could tell when they would awaken again.""And what is the use of the sphere? Can they just use it again and awaken if they like? ""The sphere is no

  • Reputation [2]

Everyone went to their seats and left Raymond's place as their teacher went in front of the class and introduced himself."I am Kian Waymoore. I am your adviser and also your main teacher in any subject. There will be just a few adjustments in the future with the other subjects, but for the whole year, we will be together." Kian stated in a monotonous tone, which made the intensity of his aura that much higher.Kian proceeded with taking chalk from the table and drawing something on the chalkboard."First, what you need to learn is what Talent is. It is the most important thing that an awakened person must know. So listen attentively. Talent is crucial. It is the life of an awakened person.""Talents have different types. There were some that were already discovered, but there were some that remained a mystery. For starters, E-grade has the highest similarities with others. Some were for lifestyle, some were for combat, some were for healthcare, and other

  • Reputation [1]

Reputation was important for individuals who wanted to establish their names in an organization or environment. Hence, Raymond thought that what if he showed that he was not an easy person to approach? So, on the first day of the academy, it was already clear that his batchmates would be looking at him. It was already that much to think of, as his face was already in public. However, what was not widely known in the public was his attitude. Hence, for the whole two years under the academy, Raymond intended to use his attitude as the major factor for getting people to give him space. But the question was, why would he put much effort into having his own space? 'It is already obvious that the plot changed. Hence, the difficulty changed to the point that it would be difficult for me to filter things out. So, instead of letting other people unintentionally mask my vision, I would push them to have a clear path and a clear vision of what to see.' I

It was satisfying for Raymond, but later on, he knew what he should focus on.The academy offered board to him, to cater to him to their fullest extent since he was the 4th A-Grader in the village. Even McWorthy was surprised by it, and he immediately revealed his connection with Raymond.Raymond backed it up, and after a week of back-and-forth with the academy and other officials attempting to poach him, he finally had peace of mind."I finally fixed the problem with my family. We are now living financially stable with the help of General McWorthy, but there is still one thing that I wanted to have."It was security for his family. McWorthy could not offer it since his men were focusing on fighting criminals. Even Gandina was just an exception to it and was ordered to protect Raymond's family."I apologize for that, Raymond. But,
