Chapter -2 The betrayal

The next morning, John got up as he did every day and made breakfast for his wife, Jennifer. He believed that by doing so, he would make her feel happy; but, Jennifer did not pay him any attention, and she did not even glance at his face.

“You are so stunning today babe!” john said, expecting that she will reply.

“Babe? I’m talking with you!” he insisted, "Where are you going?”

When he questioned her about where she is going.  She immediately began to shout at him.

 “What a foolish and destitute individual, who do you think you are to ask me? She belittled him by using a lot of harsh language.

“This is not of your business idiot!” she did not care about his emotions in the least

She stepped outdoors after leaving him behind at the house. John couldn't hide his disappointment as he looked at her, but he saw that she was moving away from him.

He mustered all his strength and made the decision to go to work.

When he arrived, everyone was staring at him in a strange way, giving him a contemptuous look.

“This world is so strange, and there is no fairness in it. How might a less fortunate guy be able to afford such a lovely lady?”  When one of the coworkers in the kitchen mentioned it.

“Oh yes! You are right!” everyone immediately broke out into loud laughter.

"Unfortunately, life is just so unfair to you folks," said another person remarked something, and the whole thing centered on John and Jennifer.

Because it is common knowledge that she is romantically involved with Steven, the richest and most well-known person in the community, who also happens to be her employer.

They were intentionally rude to John, which irritated him.

“What’s wrong with you guys? It’s none of your business.” He asserted it with a surety in his tone and asked for stop prying.

 That was so rude from everyone there.

His coworker was previously aware that Jennifer and Steven would be coming together, and it was an excellent opportunity to make his pulse race.

“Do you think Jennifer loved you, are you mad john, someone poor like you don’t deserve such a beautiful lady like her.” His colleague said.

“Shut up.” John replied when his colleague showed with his finger toward a table.

When John glanced, he saw Jennifer kissing Steven, and the image brought up a flood of painful emotions for him; hence, he rushed over to her as soon as he could.

“Jennifer! What are you doing here with him?” he yelled, and everyone felt sorry for Jennifer, but not for john.

 “How could you do that to me, betraying me, I’m your husband.” He continued to demand and shout at her.

But Jennifer was so icy that she replied, "husband?”

 “What’s your name foolish? Who the hell is you?” She didn’t give a shit to john, further of that, she asked for his name, and made him as someone who has never been in her life before.

John paused for a moment in the middle of his conversation because he couldn't believe that his wife was talking to him in such a manner.

 “Why are you behaving like that? Please don’t Jennifer!” he pleaded with her before asking the same question “why acting so cold with me, Jennifer?”

"Who is this wretched man?”  When Steven, the boss, asked the question, everyone there began laughing at john.

"Take a look, he has dressed himself; he must refrain from working here, and he must be responsible for cleaning my shoes.” He insulted him with that bad tone and told him that he shouldn't dream quite so big.

 John was the target of Steven's teasing, and Jennifer laughed at his antics. Looking at him as stranger was a beat of knife to john’s heart.

“Oh dear, don’t give this poor idiot a shit, I don’t even know him.” Jennifer replied.

John found it hard to believe that Jennifer had suddenly forgotten him.

Even her looks at him changed, and she didn't even bother to spell his name correctly.

It was very clear that she does not love him any longer; however, the love that he had for her was greater than anything else.

John begged Jennifer, he asked a lot for not leaving him like that, and his eyes were welling up with tears at the time.

“Please do something babe, take this poor away from us.” Jennifer remarked and asked from Steven to take some action, and While glaring at John with an air of superiority and superiority complex in her eyes.

Love wasn’t a reciprocal between john and Jennifer in that day, after all he wasn’t her first choice, Jennifer was a little clever, and she didn’t want to lose him actually since she loved to use him as her personal slave in the house.

He was the one who must cook and clean the house for her, she never showed mercy, after the years of love, she changed and the true face was so hard for john to accept it.

The reason why he couldn’t believe how she dared to betray him and let him alone in that situation, how hard it is to see her like that, cold like ice.

“Jennifer! I can’t believe you did that to me, how dare you? “ John still yelling and begging her to say the truth, to tell everyone that she is his wife, but she didn’t, she made him a stranger, a way that even evil wouldn’t do it to his partner.
