Chapter two

Austin's eyelid which was about to close froze hearing the mechanical voice.

[Detected Host is in a critical condition]

The voice contained even before he could process what was really going on.

[Commencing full recovery]

The mechanical voice continued and the next second, Austin felt a warm surge of energy in his limbs.

Shockingly, the warmth felt comfortable and a second later, all the pain in his body disappeared and he could feel his limbs again.

"Huh?" Austin froze as he sat up almost immediately, not understanding what was happening.

[Recovery Finished, finalizing System]

The mechanical voice echoed again in Austin's head..

[Ultimate Spendthrift System completed ]

"Host Welcome to a life of a Spendthrift"

The mechanical voice continued even before Austin could fully understand what was going on.

[One Million has been credited to the Host!]

The voice resumed, and at the same time, the phone which had been cracked from the beatings of thug light up showing the half of the screen which had not been covered by ink.

Austin stared at the screen blinking rapidly still not believing what he was seeing.

Before Austin could think about anything, the voice came back, 

[Host must spend the funds within the given time limit. Failure to do so will result in the Host's current debt multiplying by five.]

The moment that was said, a counter appeared on the screen before Austin counting down in hours, minutes and seconds.

Seeing this, Austin swallowed. The money was real. So definitely the punishment would be real.

But what in hell had he got himself into? What the heck was this thing.

And also, how in hell was he supposed to spend one Million in just twenty four hours.

No one had told him about this before so he was not prepared. Besides, he had never seen such large amount of money in his life.

In the past, his wildest dream was that if he ever got a million, he would just lie in bed all day, laughing at the ceiling and doing absolutely nothing.

But he didn't have the luxury of hoarding it. If the only way out was to blow it all, he was going to blow it. Maybe he could just buy a bunch of useless junk online.

[The host cannot randomly waste the money. Neither can he pay more than three times the normal services he receives. Also, every bit of funds spent must be reasonable. The Host is allowed to do charity with one third of the fund]

The mechanical voice chimed just as Austin thought about blowing off the money.

[Failure to comply would mean automatic failure, and the host would be five million in debt!]

Hearing this, Austin's eyes nearly pop out of their sockets.

What the heck was this. How would he be able to pay back the money if he owed it.

Seemed like he would have no other choice but to follow the System rules.

Thinking like this, Austin drew in a breath of fresh air and then rushed off to the hospital.

After all, his brother's surgery was still waiting for him. Also, according to the System's rule, even if he wanted to pay the hospital to speed up things.

He could only give them three times the original amount. But that was enough, there was no need to spend that much.

He was going to make sure his brother was transferred to a VIP ward. One Million should be able to solve it all.

With that he rushed to the hospital, after all, there were only a few hours until dawn and according to the darn system, the task would be evaluated by then.

Wasn't it supposed to be a twenty four hour limit? But then he figured out since it was late at night, it just counted the rest of the day as part of it.

Hours later, Justin walked out of the hospital, a relived sigh sat on his face as walked towards the road.

He had just finished blowing off the one Million. The surgery cost about three hundred thousand, so he paid five hundred to fast track it.

Then he used the rest to arrange a VIP lounge for his brother and paid for three months straight.

That way the money was all spent.

[Ding! Detected Host has completed the mission without violating the rule] The chime from the system jolted Austin back to his senses.

Hearing this, Austin paused, and the next moment, a flood of information rushed into his brain.

A while later, Austin's mouth rose into a grin realizing what he had just received.

Now he didn't have to fear anyone. Though there was still a problem. His body was too weak.

Even if he knew how to fight like they were engraved into his bones, his body was too weak to handle the real strain.

Seemed like it was to start some basic training.

With that, Austin prepared to Jog all the way back home when the system sounded again,

[Ding! New tasks issued.]

"Host Please Spend Ten million in twenty-four hours"

The next second, the broken phone lit up and Austin couldn't see the flood of zeros after the one.

He froze, not knowing what to say. Wasn't it supposed to be just one Million. How was it ten million now.

But what was he supposed to do? Sighing and knowing what the penalty was, he headed back home.

At least this time, he still had a lot of time to decide what to do.

In no time, Austin got back home, panting as he tried to catch his breath. 

Jogging all the way back from the hospital was too much and he swore he would never do it again.

Just as he was about to head to wash up, a knock came on his door.

Without hesitation, Austin walked up to the door and opened up only to meet about five figures, staring down at him, eyes glinting with fury
