State Alpha didn't release the spell. 

It was quite funny and amusing to watch the seers writhe in pain on the ground. Everyone ignored them and went back into the house.

Suddenly, I remembered that we had school which we left unannounced.

"Derrick? Don't we have to go back to school or what?" I asked.

"Nah, I already called the principal and told him you had family emergencies and I had to drive you all the way to another state because you don't have a car." He explained casually.

Fine by me. I nodded and sat down next to Ben. He put his arm over my shoulder and squeezed.

"Good job Bev." He complimented me but I didn't know what for.

"Thanks?" It came out more like a question than a reply or statement. What exactly did I do well at?

"Why did you say "thanks" like that?" He chuckled.
