"Where is the old man?" Shawn asked when he noticed that Oregon didn't show up during their battle against the monsters. There were supposed to be seven heroes who saved the world from destruction, but there were only six of them since he didn't show up.

"He probably hid somewhere where those media workers couldn't find him, take a picture, or record a video of him fighting against monsters. You already know that old man; he doesn't like attention and loves to do things without external validation," Ava explained.

Shawn whistled using his fingers to call the dragon that immediately landed. Everyone was surprised how he could control such a huge dragon, but he didn't mind them.

"Thank you so much for saving us! Please come back!" The people shouted at them for giving them hope during the monster outbreak.

"Let's go, guys!" Shawn shouted, and his friends immediately ran towards him. Their mission in this place was over, but they knew that there were still a lot of places and people

The huge black dragon landed in the next city, where giant monsters were waiting. The six heroes immediately went to work to rescue the people. It was another intense battle where Alice could have ended her life. "Let's set this world on fire!" Leo exclaimed, throwing fireballs at the monsters. The monsters started screaming in pain as their bodies got burned. They struggled, trying to shake the fire off their bodies, but instead made it spread even more until they fell to the ground and died. Florence, on the other hand, had been thinking why the old man was so familiar, like she had met him before. He remembered someone as he watched him fight those monsters. An old friend. "He couldn't be him. Isaac couldn't have gotten this old too soon. Even Leo isn't that old yet. I must have mistaken it," Florence said to himself. "Are you alright?" Planinkins, also known as Aethermites, are thumb-sized creatures, but their size doesn't account for their massive cosmic powers. They have purplish skin and deep, one eye that resembled miniature galaxies. They were often misidentified as little cyclops. Each Planinkin has semi-transparent wings that allow them to fly in space. They were so powerful and could change their appearance anytime they wanted. However, they weren't allowed to enter any planets, as it was against their rules. They could only watch humans and monsters from a distance, wondering what it felt like to live inside an orb, especially in the planet called Earth where intelligent creatures reside. "Oh no! This couldn't be happening!" Nayari, one of the Planinkins, screamed when she saw two planets moving in the same axis and they were about to collide. The other Planinkins flew towards her to see what happened. Their eyes turned wide after seeing the two planets moving in the same axis against each other. They ha

He had deliberately lured our heroes to his domain, where his most advanced monsters had gathered. "Who's that weirdo?" Ava asked, trying to lighten the tense atmosphere. "Do you know him, Shawn?" "It's the demon lord—the one we hunted in the past," Shawn replied. "Do you remember?" "The demon lord?" Ava repeated, confused. "But I thought he was already dead. You killed him, right?" "I did," Shawn said, frowning. "But... I don't know. Maybe he got reincarnated. After all, everyone else is here too, so that's not impossible." "He seems powerful enough to threaten us," Leo said, his body radiating a fiery, passionate aura. "I’ll never forgive anyone who mocks my friend's identity." Shawn frowned in confusion. If the demon lord had been pretending to be the old man all along, he should have already killed them. Why w

No matter how many times he had transformed into his hero mode, Shawn still found it exciting every time it happened because he knew something interesting was going to happen, and he felt like he was the main character of the story. His green t-shirt turned into silver armor, and he was now holding his golden sword. He hadn't had a satisfying fight recently, and his battle-maniac personality had been waiting for this opportunity. "I'm leaving the rest to you guys!" Shawn exclaimed before charging towards the demon lord. He swung his sword, ready to slash the demon lord with all his might, thinking that he would take the enemy down in one blow, but a strong force coming from the dark barrier when he landed a hit sent him flying back mid-air. "Shawn!" Ava exclaimed in a worried tone of voice. She was about to come and help him, but the bloodthirsty queen of bats blocked her way. "Where are you going? Your enemy is me!" Florence woke up on his wooden bed upholstered with white bedsheets inside his room that was built inside a huge tree in the world of elves. He slowly stood up as he remembered what happened. He was so incapable of protecting the most valuable elven treasure, and he knew that his father would be mad at him. "Why did you allow that gem to be taken away? Don't you know that our lives depend on it?" Eldric asked, holding his wooden cane firmly, trying to hold himself back as he might accidentally strike his nephew for his mistakes. "I'm really sorry, uncle," Florence apologized, bowing his head more than forty-five degrees, showing how much regret he had for being so gullible and letting the demon lord take the gem of life when his father had already warned him not to let anyone touch it or tell anyone about it because it could attract power-thirsty people. "Your sorry can do nothing." Eldric sighed. "You have to go back to the world of humans and take it back. Our family has trusted

Shawn put the dark gem on the stone and broke it with his golden sword. As the gem got divided into two, the memories of Florence played back in his mind—the way he smiled, laughed, and played with them; those sarcastic things he used to say; his seriousness and strong will to help others—he was such a good elf, someone they could always rely on, and now that he was gone, they knew they wouldn't be able to find someone like him again. "Are you okay?" Ava asked, standing behind Shawn. "Although Florence is an elf, death is something we can't predict, and every one of us is going to die too." Shawn faced Ava and forced himself to smile, though tears were already forming within his eyes. He knew she was right; sometimes they get emotional if they only think about their friends deaths, forgetting that they, too, were going to die someday and perhaps they'd meet each other again. They had to be mentally and emotionally ready for the death of their loved ones. Aimee, on the other hand

Ash used his tiny telescope to look at the figure who was standing in the back of the black dragon. "Is that Aimee?" Alice was surprised when she heard Ash. She borrowed his little telescope to see it herself and realized the little guy wasn't joking. "What is Aimee doing here?" Alice zoomed in the telescope to see it clearly and realized her friend was holding something. It was the broken dark gem that was divided into two. "Shawn, look at this!" Alice passed him the telescope. "How did this happen?" Shawn wondered. He thought that he had already broken the dark gem, but how could that assassin still use it, and now she has also gained control of the king of dragons? Aimee let out a devilish laugh—stari
