5. Humiliated and Displaced

Edward's steps moved quickly and emphatically as he approached the main door of Arthur's mansion.

There was Arthur's car driving away from the stopping point in front of the mansion just as he arrived. This indicated that Arthur had just returned home after the meeting with the reporters. Edward bypassed Arthur's mansion bodyguards and went straight to the living room.

This was the right moment.

"Wow, look who's here," Jacob, Bella's younger brother said with a big smile in greeting.

Edward paid no attention to Arthur's family members gathered in the living room. Edward's angry gaze was fixed on Arthur who was watching him.

"What did you do to my parents?!" Edward raised his voice just as he lunged for Arthur's shirt collar.

Suddenly the other family members panicked. Bella and Agatha - Bella's mother - stood up from the sofa in unison. While Jacob glared in surprise, he wanted to approach Edward but was blocked by Arthur's gesture.

"Why did you come and get angry with me?" Arthur asked Edward with a calm look.

Edward groaned and gritted his teeth at the same time. Seeing Arthur's calm face that seemed to show no guilt infuriated him even more.

"Your company's embezzlement case..." Edward paused for a moment. "My parents aren't the real culprits, are they?"

Arthur paused. His gaze fell on Edward's hands on his shirt collar. Casually, Arthur put both hands into his pants pockets.

"I already have proof of what your parents did. Why do you still maintain that argument?" Arthur would not be swayed.

"Because I know how my parents were, and... how could you do that?!" Edward's tone rose. His jaw hardened until his veins showed.

Arthur remained silent as his body swayed slightly due to Edward's repeated stroking of the shirt collar. A lazy exhale could be heard as Arthur looked away.

"You can't say something without proof. Where is the proof of your words?"

Edward could not answer. He just stared at Arthur with an emotional gasp.

"There isn't any proof, is there?" Arthur smiled wryly. "You have to accept that your parents are embezzlers. I can't imagine why you would betray my company..."

Arthur took a deep breath, then exhaled. Her expression showed her disappointment in Arthur.

"Don't you remember who made you level up? Who helped you build your businesses?" Arthur quipped.

After Edward's memories began to return, Edward realized that Arthur had been the one who gave him a lot of capital. Since his marriage to Bella, Edward had been given the facility of living in Arthur's mansion. His parents had long been given the opportunity to work at Rayyanco's company Walt Tech.

Unfortunately, all this does not mean that Arthur's family treats Edward well. They still consider Edward a parasite because he has provided abundant capital.

Throughout the years of his marriage to Bella, Arthur still felt that Edward didn't belong in his mansion.

"If it weren't for the fact that I have a conscience about you and your parents, I wouldn't have helped you, Edward. Why did your parents pay me back by betraying my company?" Arthur returned the sarcasm.

Arthur's eyes gradually became angry with Edward. Now it was Edward who was silent.

"And, look at you now. Your business went bankrupt because you couldn't manage it properly," Arthur said. "You've gone down a level, Edward. How can I be sure you'll stay with Bella?"

After getting repeated insinuations from Arthur, Edward's grip on Arthur's shirt collar slowly loosened. Edward seemed to be tongue-tied, unable to say anything.

Edward gritted his teeth even harder.

"I know my parents didn't do anything," Edward retorted in a growling voice full of emphasis. "I will get proof that my parents did not commit embezzlement."

Arthur raised both eyebrows and smiled interestedly. "Try if you can. Unfortunately you and your parents will not be able to gain access to my company," he said.

Edward's brow furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean?"

Arthur immediately gave a finger gesture to his personal bodyguard. Ordering him to remove Edward from the presence.

Arthur's two personal bodyguards immediately grabbed Edward's hands and pushed them away. Edward rebelled as his hands were forcefully pulled apart.

"Answer me! What do you mean, Arthur? What are you going to do?" Edward shouted over and over to Arthur.

The atmosphere became noisy as Edward's yelling mixed with the yelling of Arthur's two personal guards. Arthur's two bodyguards were visibly annoyed when Edward did not want to be told to leave.

Edward tried to keep his legs from moving away. But the strength of Arthur's two bodyguards was stronger until his body almost swayed backwards.

"You will not have access to my company because you and your parents must leave this city!" Arthur pointed his index finger outside the mansion, his tone rising.

Hearing those words, Edward instantly stopped rebelling. Edward was left dumbfounded, almost unable to believe what Arthur had just said. Edward frowned.

"What?" asked Edward in a low voice.

The city they lived in was an artificial modern city reserved for the elite. While outside this city contained poor lower-class people, thugs, gamblers who liked to get drunk without having a job. They were all rude, and this place outside the city was an outcast.

"You and your parents should have used my facilities properly from the start," Arthur said without feeling guilty.

"I didn't do anything..." Edward's voice sounded snarling.

"But you're broke, Edward," Bella said.

Edward's gaze shifted to Bella. He just realized that there was a Savador accompanying Bella. His memory immediately goes back to the affair between the two of them.

Edward laughed sarcastically.

"So that's why you had an affair with him?" asked Edward while pointing to Savador.

Savador was somewhat taken aback when Edward pointed at him. Meanwhile, Bella's face became upset.

"Of course. Why should I be with someone as poor as you?" asked Bella sarcastically.

Edward didn't have time to say anything because Arthur immediately interrupted him.

"Our family doesn't accept people from the lower classes, Edward. Consider yourself lucky that I was willing to give you capital before," said Arthur casually.

"But you squandered the opportunity to build your business. You suck. You're just a parasite in our lives," Arthur continued once again.

Arthur's words struck a chord in Edward's heart. His lips fell silent. There was regret in his heart. Why did his business go bankrupt? Why did he have to level down?

Just as Edward thought that, the system's holographic screen reappeared in front of his face. The warning notification window displayed writings that later surprised Edward.

[WARNING!]

[DEAR, EDWARD. TOO BAD YOU DROPPED THREE LEVELS BELOW THE MINIMUM SYSTEM LEVEL!]

[MINIMUM SYSTEM LEVEL: 15]

[YOUR CURRENT LEVEL: 13]

[THE SYSTEM WILL RESET THE LEVEL TO THE EARLIEST LEVEL WITHIN TWO HOURS]

Arthur then laughed. Underestimating Edward.

"Look... your level is already below 15. You can no longer qualify as a resident of The Bazzlington City," Arthur said.

Edward shook his head. A sudden panic struck him and he rebelled again.

"No! I can level up my system! Damn it, what have you done?!"

Arthur didn't answer at all. Just chuckled amusedly, as if dumping Edward was the easiest thing in his life.

"Guards, throw him and his parents out of The Bazzlington City."

Bella waved goodbye to Edward. "Enjoy your poor new life out there, Edward. You won't be able to see me."

Edward gritted his teeth. Both his hands were pulled tight by the other bodyguards to get out of the mansion. This time Edward did not want to put up a fight. He let his body be pulled out roughly, away from Arthur and the rest of the family.

Edward promised in his heart to make them pay their action.
