“Ethan Arthur!” the doctor called, and bowed to him, “You are hereby fit and ready to be discharged, your convoy awaits you outside. Are you aware of that?”

“Aware of what?” Ethan raised a thick brow and breathed uneasily before opening the window to see hefty-looking guards, all suited with sunshades adding to their hostility, they manned a convoy of Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Austin Martins.

Ethan shot a striking glance at the doctor. “My name is Ethan Moneyfield not Ethan Arthur. And the billionaire? I didn’t see him again after yesterday. Why the change of name now?” he asked.

The doctor lost about what response to give, handed him a paper. “Please put your signature here to approve your discharge.” He obliged and Ethan gazed on the paper to see Ethan Arthur graven on the spaces and he winced.

He managed to put his signature and the doctor left only for two hefty guards to step in and bow, hailing, “Grand master!”

Ethan raised a thick brow, staring at them sheepishly; he had never been so composed before. “Please, what is happening? And where is your boss? He promised to get back to this place but I didn’t see him again. And here you are calling me grand master.”

“Our boss demands to see you immediately at the mansion. It is very urgent and you must come with us, please.” He hesitated, his eyes inspecting the guards and then he stared around to see if they were referring to another person.

“Are you serious?” he rubbed his eyes and blinked in utter confusion but then he grinned and shrugged, “How can this be. Rex  Arthur wants to see me in his mansion?” he hesitated.

“Please, don’t hesitate, grandmaster. We are on instruction and you must come with us,” the guard pleaded,

Shrugging hugely, Ethan joined them to the convoy outside where the rest of the guards bowed to him, with their hands folded in honor. He could recall winking several times trying to see if he was dreaming.

He had seen those guards with Rex yesterday and they bowed to him so why would they do the same to him now. He paused for a moment to brood over it before enter into the Rolls Royce whose door had already been opened for him.

This was his first time to get into such a luxury car, and he could feel some rejuvenation and vigor sprouting in him as he felt the seat and glanced around the expensive car. He could breathe life afresh.

“God what is happening?” he cast a glance behind to see the rest of the cars in straight lines, their gleaming headlamp sparkling, and he stroked his hair, feeling on top of the world already.

Once they drove into the mansion, he was graced with the honor to alight form the car as one of the guards opened the door and the rest bowed to him, with their gestures pointing at the entrance to their mansion.

He stepped into the edifice and couldn’t stop staring around the haven of a mansion.

“Welcome to my abode, Ethan,” the unnoticeable voice sounded and once he turned around, he caught sight of Rex , well seated at the dining table in the room , his smiles well held as he gestured at him to join him.

The maids led Ethan to join him and he gave him a warm lunch. Ethan had been starving and not just hungry. He ate with great appetite and was really eager to know the reasons for the fanfare and honor.

“I didn’t see you again, sir,” he sounded, “What is happening? And why did the doctor change my name to yours. He mentioned Ethan Arthur.”

Rex patted him on the shoulders, and snorted heavily to reveal the shocker. “You are my son, the flesh of my flesh, and the blood of my blood.”

Ethan gape at him, his confusion compounding like gravel, “What are you talking about , sir? I don’t get you. Me? Your son. Son of Rex Arthur? This has got to be a joke. How? When? talk to me.”

Tossing his head he narrated to him, how he married Isabella, his mother and she was heartbroken by the contempt of his parents who never wanted a barren wife for him. She couldn’t hold back so she vacated his life.

Leaning to Ethan he held his fingers. “Obviously, she was pregnant when she left and gave birth to you, my son. I have been searching for her all these year past but there seemed to be no breakthrough. How did she die?” Rex asked, bitterness up his guts.

Ethan lowered his gaze, his face suffused with pain and gloom.

“She died of breast cancer. She died in my arms. She had a lot to tell me but she couldn’t tell me. All she did was put this necklace on my neck. She had always worn it.”

Rex held his face and gave him a gluey hug.

“Welcome back, son!”

He patted his back and Ethan dimmed his eyes in rejuvenation and strength. He stroke his scraggly hair and gave orders to his maids to see that Ethan look fresher and better again.

First, he had the opportunity to have a warm bath and he couldn’t even tell what a proper bath was like anymore. These years of poverty had come to an end just instantly..

Given a clean haircut, he was adorned in expensive tuxedo, sleeves and oxford.

“That is my son,” Rex admired him from behin., “Anything you need is at your beck and call.”

“Thank you, father,” Ethan replied and Rex tossed his head; hearing a son call him father was worth more than his avarice of wealth.

He took out a credit card. “Here you are. This credit is specially for you, your spending limit is one billion dollars.”

Ethan gaped at him, his body shaking but he dared to keep his poise.

“Whatever you want this card can afford it,” Rex said, “I am not done yet,” he took out a business licensee documents and placed on the desk, “Please, put your signatures as my heir.”

Ethan couldn’t blink, he couldn’t bat an eye lid; he gaped as he put down his signatures hurriedly..

“So you told me you were a student. Are you going to school tomorrow?” Rex queried.

Ethan hesitated; his mind fell back to his horrible past in school.

“No, dad, I am on six months suspension.”
