Seeing the increasingly heated situation, the manager quickly asked the other waiters to make Galvin kneel in front of Damian and Alice.

Alvin, who was forced to kneel, could only stare at Alice and Damian with a look of hatred.

"You're too arrogant, Galvin. At a time like this, do you still not realize what you did wrong? I'm not as good as my husband," Alice said in a cold tone.

While Damian only chuckles amusedly in his heart, seeing his wife like a fierce cat, Damian is okay with all that because he does need a strong wife because there will be many enemies who will lurk them later.

Damian is confident that he can protect his little family, but he also knows that anything can happen in the future so he can only slowly teach his wife to be able to defend herself even without him.

"You?!" Galvin gave Alice a more hateful look, the man had yet to admit his mistake.

"You're a loser, Galvin; even at the last moment, you didn't want to admit your mistake. But that's okay; because of that, the people here and I can open my eyes to the fact that you're not a real man who wants to accept your own defeat even though you made a bet." Alice folded her arms across her chest, arrogance shining in her brown eyes.

"Then what do you want? I'm such a loser, why, don't you like it?" Galvin continued to attack Alice, the man felt his pride was deeply hurt now.

"Look, that young man is so disgusting. If all the young generation are like him, what will this nation become?" said one of the old men, looking at Galvin with a dissatisfied look.

"Sir, take it easy; I'll fire him right now." The manager quickly made a face. "Galvin, you're fired, and all of you, take him to the police station so he can be held accountable for his actions!"

"Alright, Manager, please take good care of him. I don't want him to make a scene here, and dear, let's go. We don't need to waste more of our time on people like him," Damian said again. He saw that his daughter was getting uncomfortable in his arms and seemed to need a soft mattress for her comfort.

"Damian," Alice glanced at her husband with a dissatisfied tone.

"Davina needs a soft bed, dear; we better get home. I'm a little tired, too," Damian smiled gently at his wife.

Hearing her husband's words, Alice realized that he had just returned from a tough assignment.

"Alright, let's go home, said the Manager. I hope you take care of him properly because public scum like him won't be deterred before he gets a severe punishment." Alice pressed the Manager, saying that Galvin would not be let loose after they left.

"If you're worried that he'll be released, you'd better follow my employee to the police station. I won't let my customers down," the Manager replied in a firm tone.

Damian quickly shook his head. "No, I trust you. Come on, baby, let's go home," Damian coaxed as his little daughter squirmed uncomfortably in his arms.

"Go home, young man. We'll take care of it!" said one of the old men excitedly.

"That's right, we'll testify so that he doesn't get away with it!" The rest of the people there also agreed with the old man's words.

Damian just smiled formally. "Thank you, everyone, but don't get tired. I'll take my leave," Damian quickly led his wife and son out of the modest restaurant.

"Darling, why don't you escort him? I'm not satisfied that he's still hanging around and oh yeah, is that card really yours? And how do we replace it," Alice started bombarding her husband with questions when they reached the car.

Damian was getting the car out of the parking lot while Alice was holding Davina in her arms. Although Damian had said that he could hold their daughter while driving the car, Alice still didn't allow it because she was afraid of an accident. Damian wasn't focused on driving while holding their little daughter.

"Why did you let her go so easily? We could have testified harder for him. What about the black card? Are we going to get fined for destroying it?" Alice started bombarding her husband with questions.

Hearing how chatty his wife was, Damian just smiled. "You shouldn't worry, dear, because the black card won't cause us any problems, and it's actually an unused card."

"Is it a damaged card?" Alice asked excitedly. At least they wouldn't be wasting a valuable treasure.

"Maybe it is," Damian replied simply because there were enough cards like that in his drawer that he didn't feel that tampering with a limited edition black card like that was out of the ordinary.

"Then what about the punishment? You can't be too gentle because people like Galvin are the scum of society that we need to get rid of quickly," Alice continued passionately because she wasn't satisfied until she saw Galvin immersed in prison with her own eyes.

"You just relax dear, the universe will do its job well." Damian smiled mysteriously, the man was certainly not going to let the man who insulted his wife get away with it.

He only looked calm on the surface; actually, right now, his brain started planning how to torture the man.

"Huh, you're still the same as before. You're very gentle," Alice said in a low tone because she thought her husband was a very compassionate person.

Unfortunately, Alice didn't know that the husband she thought was gentle was a monster that her enemies feared on the battlefield.

Damian did not explain anything else to his wife because he thought he would only be a gentle creature in the eyes of his small family. His family did not need to know who he really was.

The journey between the two was quite short. Damian carried his daughter to their apartment and Alice showed him the room where she and her daughter had been sleeping.

Seeing his wife's very simple room, Damian was a little dissatisfied because his wife shouldn't have to be so simple.

He gently pulled her hand out of the room.

After the two sat down in the living room, Damian immediately took out his wallet. He took out all the money and a few cards in his wallet.

"I only have a little cash, but you can use this card; this black card has your birthday password. You can use it freely, and I think we really need to prepare a room for our daughter. Maybe we should also buy some musical instruments to make our daughter happy," Damian said frankly. He was not a man who would be stingy with his own family.

"Why are you giving me this much money? And I think this is all enough for us," Alice quickly denied. She didn't want to burden her husband.

"Just take it, Alice. This is all the result of my hard work for five years. You and our daughter deserve the best!" Damian grasped his wife's hand tightly. He wanted to give her more, but he knew that with her attitude, she would refuse.

"B-but this is too much," Alice refused again, as Damian had predicted. "And if you give it all to me, what about you? You've worked hard on the battlefield, and all this money should be put to good use for you. Relax, our daughter and I have had enough so far." Alice was so firm because she knew how hard it was to be her husband, who had to fight life and death on the battlefield.

He wanted to argue, to shout that Damian was wrong, but deep down he knew the man was right. Ace no longer lived like a human being. He was just a consciousness forced to breathe by a machine. “If we help him now,” Damian continued slowly, "they'll hunt him down again. They would take him to another facility, connect him to a larger Leviathan core. And this time, he would have no more chances to cry."Silence. The auction voices around them continued, but everything felt distant—as if the world had stopped spinning just to wait for Megan's answer. Finally, Megan closed her eyes. Her tears fell silently. A small voice came from her lips, hoarse and broken. “Let him rest. He's been fighting alone for too long.”Damian bowed his head slightly, respecting her decision. He patted Megan's shoulder gently, then turned to Robert. His gaze turned cold but sharp, like a blade ready to strike.Robert nodded slightly. From behind his jacket, he took out a mini trigger with a blue light at

The old machinery beneath the stage hummed softly, then roared within seconds. From the ceiling, hundreds of red cables descended like roots. The threads snatched and grabbed at the bodies of those who tried to approach the stage. They screamed, kicked, tried to break free, but the threads pierced their skin, sucking something from inside their bodies, like energy, perhaps, or l

Megan was just about to close the communicator when she heard the sound of footsteps rushing quickly from the back hallway. Madam Flower appeared, her face pale, breathing heavily, her eyes filled with anger that she could barely control.“Damian.” Her voice trembled but was sharp as a knife. "You know about those kids, right? You know they're there and you didn't say anything to me?"The room instantly felt tense again. Robert, who was standing on the right, looked at the two of them, then stepped back a little, knowing that this was not a conversation anyone else should be involved in. Megan swallowed hard. She rarely saw Madam Flower so intense—not because of fear, but because of a wound that had turned into embers.Damian slowly turned his head. His expression remained calm, too calm for someone who had just been accused of hiding something so big.“What do you mean?”Madam Flower stepped closer, her hands trembling but her eyes staring straight ahead. “Don't play dumb. The child

“You’re just buying lies,” interrupted the cold-faced masked man. “All you’ve won is synthetic fossils, not the remains of prehistoric creatures. But I,” he stepped forward, “want to offer something more real.”Mr. R smiled faintly, hiding something behind his false calm. “And do you know, sir, that ‘reality’ in this place is the most expensive thing in the world?”“That's why I came with enough money to buy everyone's lies here,” said the man flatly. The room fell silent. Only the sound of the hologram machine hummed softly in the air.Mr. R stared at him for a long time, then clapped his hands once. The stage lights changed to a deep green. The hologram screen switched to a view of the deep sea, dark blue, pitch black, with strange silhouettes moving in the darkness.“All right,” said Mr. R, his voice trembling with theatricality. “Since our guest seems thirsty for reality, I will give you something more than just scientific lies.”The image on the screen changed again. Now it showe

Madam Flower looked down with a tense expression. “What if the President finds out?” asked Madam Flower innocently, because she knew nothing about the cold war between Damian and the President.Charlie looked back at her. “That's exactly the point, Madam Flower. He wants the President to find out.”Damian slowly stood up from his chair and walked towards the stage. His steps were calm, but the air around him vibrated with an almost invisible tension.Mr. R looked at him, bowing slightly, his soft voice coming through the microphone. “Congratulations, Mr. Lark. You are now the official owner of one of the most strategic territories in the world. I hope you know how to protect it.”Damian looked directly into the masked man's eyes. “Oh, I will protect it,” he said flatly. “With the blood of anyone who tries to set foot there.”Silence. Everyone who heard it knew that tone was no joke.On the screen behind the stage, the official transaction sign appeared. Mr. R looked satisfied, but beh

Charlie stared at one of the glass boxes. There was something inside, moving faintly, like someone trying to breathe. He looked at Madam Flower with wide eyes. “Are they auctioning humans right now?” he asked in surprise, because everything seemed so bold.Madam Flower covered her mouth with her hand, stifling a sudden wave of nausea. But before she could speak, the music changed again, the piano chimes from below now echoing louder, vibrating through the marble floor and into the air.The red curtain on the stage moved.Someone walked out.The man was dressed in a perfect black suit, his face partially covered by a silver mask that revealed only one eye, cold, clear, and full of power.“Ladies and gentlemen,” his voice was deep and resonant, “welcome to tonight's final auction.”Madam Flower stiffened. Charlie gripped her wrist gently.Mr. R looked at the guests, then slowly raised his hand toward the first box. “And for our opening item is something even shadow hunters would envy,”
