Instead of screaming hysterically or covering her face with both hands, Valerie just stood frozen.
Her eyes did not blink at all, staring straight at Barra's proportional curves and large manhood. Barra turned, looking at Valerie who was silently gaping at his new body. Instead of being embarrassed, Barra smirked faintly, letting the Sinclair Group heir see his "new" body which was certainly very hot to women. "What are you looking at?" Barra asked with a sarcastic tone. Valerie immediately raised her gaze. Their eyes now met. "Y, You pervert!" Valerie cursed, hiding her nervousness. The woman turned her back on Barra while covering her face which was red from embarrassment. Barra pulled a black t-shirt from the mattress, also sweatpants of the same color, then put them on in one quick movement while throwing a faint smirk. "You boldly entered without knocking on the door, yet I am the one blamed," Barra said. He walked casually past Valerie toward the kitchen at the end of the hallway. Valerie lowered her hands after making sure the man was dressed, then stomped her foot in annoyance. "I just wanted to ask where you put the cooking oil!" Valerie shouted, hurrying after Barra's steps. The boarding house kitchen's condition was very concerning. An empty black wok was on a rusty old gas stove. Barra sighed seeing the stove knob tilted from being forced to turn by Valerie. "Lighting an old thing like this needs a trick," Barra said. He pressed the iron knob inward, then turned it until a click sounded. Whoosh. A blue flame instantly lit up. "See?" Barra said, pointing to the lit fire. "Then, where is the oil? I did not find anything on the shelf," Valerie demanded sharply. Barra reached under the wooden table, pulling a plastic bottle of cooking oil from behind a pile of newspapers. "If put on the table, it only invites sewer rats," Barra said briefly. He poured a little oil into the wok. Then he took a small pot, filled it with water and placed it on the other stove burner. And he lit that stove burner. After that, Barra took two packs of instant noodles on the table. Then tore the packaging. "Do you cook for yourself often?" Valerie asked, her voice softening after the noodle seasoning aroma started to spread. "If I could not cook, I would have starved to death a long time ago," Barra replied without turning. In less than ten minutes, two plates of instant noodles and half-boiled sunny-side-up eggs were served on the table. "Eat while it is hot," Barra said, handing over a pair of thin metal forks. Valerie looked at the plate before her doubtfully. Her fork only twirled the noodle strands without intending to take a bite. "Do we really have to eat instant food for breakfast?" Valerie asked, furrowing her brow. "There is no other food left here," Barra answered before eating his own noodles. Valerie sighed, finally surrendering to the hunger torturing her stomach. She tasted a small bite. Her eyes widened slightly as the savory taste instantly pampered her tongue. "Listen, Barra. I gave my Rollexa watch as a room rent deposit," Valerie said suddenly. Barra did not respond, calmly chewing his food. "That watch is worth millions. You should have been able to order food from a large restaurant, not give cheap food like this," Valerie continued in annoyance. Barra put down his fork, then reached into his pants pocket to take his old phone with a cracked screen. He pressed the button, then pointed the lit screen right in front of Valerie's face. "Look at this mobile banking balance closely!" Barra exclaimed coldly. Valerie leaned her face forward, reading the text line displayed there. Account Balance: $50. The young miss immediately blinked, thinking her eyes were wrong. "Only... fifty dollars?" "My twenty thousand dollars was completely transferred to Baxter's account to pay off the debt," Barra explained. Valerie was stunned to hear that. "That money is what kept this boarding house from turning into rubble by the yellow bulldozer this morning," Barra added sharply. "So... your remaining money now is really only fifty dollars?" Valerie asked to confirm, her voice shrinking. "Yes. And fifty dollars is not enough to buy luxurious food. It is not even enough to buy two food portions with two side dishes at Mrs. Nia's rice stall," Barra replied. That fact hit Valerie's pride. She looked down, staring at the remaining noodles on her plate. "You really frustrate me," Valerie muttered softly while stirring her noodles. The atmosphere in the kitchen fell silent again. Only the sound of Barra's fork scraping as he finished his food was heard. Ding! A flat mechanical voice suddenly echoed loudly inside Barra's head, followed by the appearance of a large transparent neon blue holographic screen. "Damn, what else is this?" Barra cursed spontaneously, making Valerie gasp in shock. Before his eyes, digital text moved quickly displaying a new mission line from the Conqueror Monopoly System. [Main Mission: Upgrade Boarding House Facilities to Level 1 in 48 hours. Condition: Renovate basic facilities and provide one livable additional room. Penalty: Permanent revocation of 20% Physical Buff and all Skills.] Barra's heart beat fast reading the penalty. "System, are you joking? How do I renovate this rundown building without a single cent of capital?" Barra protested inwardly. There was no answer. The screen only displayed a red countdown timer starting to move from 47:59:59. "What is wrong with you? Your face, why is it like that?" Valerie asked suddenly, breaking Barra's focus. Barra coughed softly, trying to neutralize his facial lines again to not cause suspicion. "None of your business!" Barra answered shortly while getting up from his seat. He carried the dirty plate to the cracked cement sink. His brain spun quickly looking for a loophole to get money. Valerie's Rollexa watch was still safely stored in his jacket pocket. However, selling it at a regular watch shop was very dangerous because it attracted attention. Barra approached the dining table again. His sharp gaze locked onto Valerie's figure. "After this, follow me!" Barra commanded absolutely. Valerie looked up with an uncomprehending expression. "Where? I am still tired." "Just to room number two. We must check its condition. Later that room will be your room," Barra said. Valerie furrowed her beautiful brow. "Huh?! Why must I help check it?! Listen, my status here is a tenant, not your personal servant!" Barra did not reply. He stepped forward one step, closing the distance until Valerie could smell the scent of cheap soap from his body. "The rules on my land are very simple, Young Miss," Barra whispered low but pressingly. Valerie held her breath, unable to look away from Barra's eagle eyes staring at her sharply from close range. "Not a single person can live here without breaking their own sweat," Barra continued coldly.Latest Chapter

"Step back and do not leave this kitchen area!" Barra ordered without turning his head back at all.Valerie stopped her movement."You want to go out front alone? What if that gang of men with machetes comes again bringing more troops?" Valerie prevented him with a thick tone of worry."Exactly because of that, you must stay here. Lock the door from the inside and turn off this light," Barra answered."Do not die foolishly out there, Barra," Valerie said softly, half-whispering, squeezing the edge of her shirt."Dying is not part of my plan tonight," the man replied flatly, stepping away. The well-built man stepped quickly down the pitch-black long hallway."System, calculate the number of enemies outside," Barra ordered.[Scanning obstructed by local storm interference. Barra stared through the panic in the beautiful woman's eyes, confused about what to explain. He took a deep breath. "Do not overthink it. I called a friend earlier to buy this furniture. Those couriers are human, they just work specifically for my friend's store," Barra said, making up a casual excuse.Valerie frowned. "When did you call?""When you were busy grumbling," Barra answered.Valerie scrutinized his expression, looking for a lie. However, Barra's face was entirely unreadable. She looked back at the corner of room number two. The previously dusty, cracked space now looked much better. She stared at Barra with growing awe."You have weird logistics connections for a rundown boarding house owner," Valerie muttered, crossing her arms.Barra did not reply.Valerie approached the dressing table to check its varnish. Suddenly, a transparent blue screen blinked before Barra's eyes.[Emergency Renovation Mission Complete!][Room Number Two Status: Livable Level 1.][Can

Barra wiped the sharp gravel shards from the wall hole's edge with the back of his hand.He shifted his large body closer to the brick wall, blocking Valerie's view as she tried peeking from behind."Go back to painting the wall, Miss Sinclair," Barra scolded, turning his head briefly with a warning look."Do you think I am stupid? You are hiding something in that hole," Valerie retorted suspiciously. The woman crossed her arms, refusing to step back.Barra ignored her protests completely. His focus was entirely on the black steel safe inside the wall. The safe's rust-free surface indicated expensive high-grade steel. The digital keypad on the door blinked slowly with a dim red light."System, help me check this safe," Barra ordered inwardly.A bright blue light shot from his pupils, scanning the dusty metal buttons from close range. A transparent information screen appeared seconds later.Faded reddish fingerprint traces appeared clearly under the invisible light. The finge

Barra stared at the blinking System notification screen. Two choices appeared in his head. He could let his body weaken from blood loss, or obey the System's strange order.Barra made his decision. He pulled Valerie closer in one jerk."Hey! What are you doing?!" Valerie protested, eyes wide. She fell onto Barra's broad chest. The beautiful woman struggled softly, trying to break free. Pressing her elbows into the mattress, Valerie supported her weight to avoid crushing him."Take your hands off my waist right now, Barra!" Valerie raised her voice. "Do not make me scream!""Be quiet and stay still. I just need warmth to stabilize my heartbeat," Barra replied flatly, holding her with his right hand.Valerie's exposed stomach directly touched Barra's abdominal muscles. Warmth flowed constantly between their skin. A thin golden light radiated from their touch, creeping up Barra's ribs and slowly closing the torn flesh on his left shoulder.Valerie's face instantly turned red fro

Barra's calf muscles tensed sharply. He accidentally maximized the twenty percent physical enhancement effect from the System fully across his entire neural network."Talk too much!" Barra cut in flatly with a dismissive look in his eyes.He kicked the half-full paint bucket lying right near the tip of his left knee hard. The thick white liquid flew, hitting the scarred man's face squarely."Argh! My eyes! Damn it!" the man screamed in pain. The scarred man instantly let go of his machete in a panic. He staggered backward hitting his partner while rubbing his face covered in thick paint.Barra did not waste that opportunity. There was an open gap to be exploited. He rolled forward. His right hand picked up the steel machete that just fell near his shoe."Now it is my turn!" Barra said rising on one knee.He swung the machete hard. He slashed the ankles of two other attackers in one full rotation."My leg! Bastard, my leg is cut off!" the stocky attacker screamed hysterical

They entered the boarding house. Their footsteps stomped roughly at the same time along the corridor. They simultaneously raised their steel machetes straight ahead, aiming at Barra's chest without the slightest hesitation."System, can you find the weaknesses of these five bastards?" Barra asked in his head. The holographic blue screen buzzed softly and projected data right in front of his retinas.[Scanning five targets...][Target 1 (Scar): High agility, poor balance on the left leg. Weapon: Carbon Steel Machete.][Target 2: Short body posture, focused attacks from the enemy's blind spot. Swing strength below average.][Target 3: Tanker type. Dense muscle mass, slow movement. Vital point exposed on the right stomach.][Target 4 & 5: Support positions in the back row, low awareness level.]Barra smiled. Now he already pocketed the list of the enemies' weaknesses and strengths. So, there was no reason to be nervous. He stared sharply at them, then slid his right foot backw
