Oliver's eyes snapped open after hearing the words of the teacher, and the students spectating couldn't help but laugh at the distracing act from Oliver.

"Go back to your seat, trash, you have no talent to be recorded." Mrs Jane spoke, glaring at Oliver in disdain. Oliver nodded sluggishly as he began to walk back to his seat with a heavy heart, and his eyes glued to the floor to avoid the hateful glares from his classmates.

Oliver sat down on his seat and placed his head on the desk, unable to hold it in any longer, he let the tears flow, but tried his best to stay silent.

The whole world changed after a rift tore open in a certain part of Earth, and powerful beasts that could use strange abilities flooded earth and plunged Earth into immediate danger. During the whole chaos, few individuals discovered that it was possible for them to tap into their inner core and awaken Talents.

The few individuals who discovered it first were able to tap into their core and awaken different powerful abilities, which they used against the beasts and later succeeded in chasing them back to their world.

After the whole chaos was over, the first people who awakened talents began to pass down their knowledge among the people, helping them to awaken several talents that would be very important in case if another invasion happens.

As time passed by, the government made it a law that every child that gets to the age of 16 should go through the awakening ritual and awaken their talents. Parents began to get their children prepared for the day by buying them books related to awakening and giving them the necessary trainings so on that day it would be easy to awaken a talent and become someone in the new world.

Oliver, on the other hand, lost is parents in the first invasion, and didn't get any special trainings that would prepare him for the awakening. That was one of the reason why he failed to awaken any talent.

His parents didn't leave behind any talent books for him to study like other parents, the only thing they left behind was his medical pills for his heart condition. And with no Talent book to study, he had no idea how it really worked and ended up with nothing.

And his foster parents were poor and also couldn't afford one of those books. After Oliver failed to awaken any talent, his foster parents began to treat him like a trash and stranger, until they finally threw him out of the house.

"Why must my case be different from others?" Oliver cried, his head still on the locker to avoid anyone noticing.

Classes for the day was finally over, and Oliver wasted no time in exiting the school premisses. He already went through enough hell for one day and couldn't being himself to spend even one more minute there.

Oliver walked through the streets as usual as he made his way back home. In less than thirty minutes, he arrived back home and walked inside.

It was a one room apartment that barely had enough space to fit in a bed and a cupboard. Oliver threw himself on his bed with his head facing the ceiling that had a hole on it and he could actually see the evening sky through it.

"The entrance test of the Travelers is in a few months time. How am I supposed to contest in the test when I don't even have any talent!" Alex screamed internally with a saddened expression.

After losing his parents in the monsters invasion, Oliver has always had this dream of becoming a Traveler. Travelers is a group of powerful Awakeners that makes sure they keep the world safe and avoid any more invasions.

They also travel through planets, hunting down beasts and collecting their valuable body parts. Oliver has always wanted to become a Traveler to teach those monsters a lesson and also prevent any more invasions that could ruin more families.

However, with the way things were going so far, Oliver wasn't sure if that little dream of his would come to pass.

Before one could become a Traveler, one must first undergo a tough test that proves he is indeed ready to become a Traveler. And the test only happens ones in years, and in different locations.

The test would happen in a few months from now and also in Oliver's school.

"It seems I'll have to forget about it and live the rest of my life as a nobod-" Oliver began to cough suddenly and he stood up from his bed with his left hand on his chest, making his way towards his small wooden cupboard.

Oliver opened the cupboard and took out a small round container that a single blue pill could be seen inside.

"Damn it, just one pill left?" Oliver exclaimed, his eyes glued to the pill inside the transparent container and he was still coughing non-stop. Oliver was born with a heart problem, and the only way to stop the heart problem temporarily was if he keeps taking the pills whenever it happens.

Oliver had no idea what the source of the pills was from, his parents only handed it over to him before they died, and since then he has been swallowing them whenever the issue starts.

"If I take the last one, what would happen later when it starts again?" Oliver contemplated, his whole face now drenched in sweat and bright red due to coughing heavily. "Screw that! Let me worry about living past today first!"

Oliver then opened the container and threw the pill into his mouth, before swallowing it instantly. He picked up a glass of water and gulped it all and placed the glass back on the table.

Oliver wiped his mouth and turned to return back to his bed, but his visions became blurry and it felt like his head was spinning which allowed him to lose balance and fall to the floor.

"What's... happening?" Oliver mused as his eyes began to close and he could barely see anything.

[YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE TASK BY CONSUMING ALL ENERGY PILLS]

[CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE AWAKENED YOUR DIVINE TALENT.....]

Unable to fight it any longer, Oliver finally passed out.

Oliver sat cross-legged in the crystalline meditation chamber, the air around him still but humming faintly, as if anticipating the next beat of his heart. The shards of the plateau’s Rift remnants glimmered faintly outside the reinforced viewports, each pulse of light tracing the invisible seams of reality that he alone could feel. His Reality Anchor thrummed in tandem with the chamber, a low vibration that carried through his bones. For the first time in months, the world felt both heavy and hollow. He closed his eyes, letting his senses stretch into the ether, reaching toward the small fissures of unstable energy that dotted the surrounding lands. The moment was quiet, sacred, a pause between storms. And then, the pulse changed. It was sharper, more insistent, and the familiar System tone echoed in his mind with a clarity that made his teeth clench.“User Oliver,” the voice said, calm but unyielding. “Synchronization threshold exceeded. New parameter available.”Oliver’s eyes s

The morning sunlight struck the crystalline towers of Solara Vant with a glare that made the polished surfaces almost unbearable to look at directly. In the training courtyard, Iris stood at the center of a semicircle of cadets, her arm still bandaged from the last Rift engagement, though it no longer slowed her. Her boots clicked sharply on the glass tiles with each step as she circled them, the sound echoing across the open space. The cadets shifted nervously, eyes wide, holding their weapons with hands that trembled just slightly. Iris didn’t allow herself to flinch at the heat of their gazes. She had walked through fires that would have consumed them in seconds.“You’re not here to prove yourselves,” she said, voice firm, carrying across the courtyard. “You’re here to learn to hold others up when the world tries to knock them down. Not just to fight, learn to save.”A young cadet, barely sixteen, stumbled forward, a trainee blade clutched in his hands. “Ma’am, I don’t know if I

The hangar smelled of fuel, dust, and ozone. Dim strips of light hung from the ceiling, casting long shadows across crates stacked high like silent sentinels. Billy moved along the corridor, his boots clicking sharply against the metal grating. He kept his head down, glancing at the walls where old transport schematics and repair logs were pinned in haphazard order. The building was abandoned in name only; the air vibrated with whispered transactions, the faint hum of illicit commerce. At the far end of the hall, a figure stepped out of the darkness. He wore a long coat stitched with pockets, each seam glinting with metal clasps, and a wide-brimmed hat that hid most of his face. The faint glow of the hangar’s emergency lights outlined him, creating a halo of menace. “You’re late,” the man said, his voice smooth, controlled.Billy shook his head, closing the distance between them. “Traffic,” he said, his tone casual, though his eyes scanned every corner. “Never thought I’d meet in a

The sky above Solara Vant shimmered with fractured sunlight, refracted by the crystal towers that lined the city’s central plaza. Thousands of drones hovered in precise formation, tracing constellations across the morning air. Oliver Beckett stood at the edge of the landing platform, the black shard secured in a containment field beneath his arm. Below, the streets swarmed with civilians, military units, and Scholars from every corner of the Traveler network, all awaiting the emergency assembly convened at the Hall of Mirrors. The ship’s ramp lowered, and Oliver’s boots echoed across the polished surface. Iris fell into step beside him, her bandaged arm wrapped carefully, her eyes alert to every movement in the crowd. Billy lingered slightly behind, scanning for anomalies, his usual grin tempered by the weight of recent battles. The Hall of Mirrors rose like a cathedral of light. Walls of polished crystal reflected infinite versions of the approaching delegation, while the ceiling

The Vigilant Dawn cut through the twilight sky like a blade, silver thrusters leaving streaks against the dying sun.Below, Solara Vant’s h orizon shimmered with lights, a mosaic of celebration and relief.Cities along the return route had lit beacons in honor of the returning fleet, lanterns floating from rooftops and sky-bridges, drifting toward the stars as if carrying silent prayers. From the observation deck, Oliver leaned on the railing, armor scorched and dented, his gauntlets still humming faintly with residual Reality Anchor energy. The black shard rested in his palm, its surface slick with an unnatural darkness, pulsing slowly in rhythm with his heartbeat.Iris approached quietly, her steps muted against the alloy floor. Her eyes swept the horizon, then softened as they met his. “You should rest,” she said, voice calm but firm. She rested a hand on his shoulder. “The fleet is secure. The world is looking at us. • Chapter 446

The wind howled across the black glass of the Sable Plateau, whipping shards of Rift energy into glittering arcs that cut through the dust. The battlefield was silent in a way that felt unnatural, as if the world itself had paused to measure the aftermath. Oliver stepped cautiously over the reflective surface, each footfall sending ripples of light across the fractured ground. His armor was scorched, the edges glowing faintly where the Divine Anchor’s energy had overextended, yet his movements remained deliberate, measured.Iris followed close behind, her Light Division visor scanning for residual anomalies. She crouched beside a cluster of fractured crystals, hand hovering over the surface. Her glyph projections flickered and pulsed with faint data echoes. “Oliver, come look at this,” she said. Her voice was calm but carried a weight that made Oliver stop.He knelt beside her, eyes narrowing at the subtle waves of energy emanating from the cluster. “What is it?” he asked.“Data r
