Oliver's eyes snapped open after hearing the words of the teacher, and the students spectating couldn't help but laugh at the distracing act from Oliver.

"Go back to your seat, trash, you have no talent to be recorded." Mrs Jane spoke, glaring at Oliver in disdain. Oliver nodded sluggishly as he began to walk back to his seat with a heavy heart, and his eyes glued to the floor to avoid the hateful glares from his classmates.

Oliver sat down on his seat and placed his head on the desk, unable to hold it in any longer, he let the tears flow, but tried his best to stay silent.

The whole world changed after a rift tore open in a certain part of Earth, and powerful beasts that could use strange abilities flooded earth and plunged Earth into immediate danger. During the whole chaos, few individuals discovered that it was possible for them to tap into their inner core and awaken Talents.

The few individuals who discovered it first were able to tap into their core and awaken different powerful abilities, which they used against the beasts and later succeeded in chasing them back to their world.

After the whole chaos was over, the first people who awakened talents began to pass down their knowledge among the people, helping them to awaken several talents that would be very important in case if another invasion happens.

As time passed by, the government made it a law that every child that gets to the age of 16 should go through the awakening ritual and awaken their talents. Parents began to get their children prepared for the day by buying them books related to awakening and giving them the necessary trainings so on that day it would be easy to awaken a talent and become someone in the new world.

Oliver, on the other hand, lost is parents in the first invasion, and didn't get any special trainings that would prepare him for the awakening. That was one of the reason why he failed to awaken any talent.

His parents didn't leave behind any talent books for him to study like other parents, the only thing they left behind was his medical pills for his heart condition. And with no Talent book to study, he had no idea how it really worked and ended up with nothing.

And his foster parents were poor and also couldn't afford one of those books. After Oliver failed to awaken any talent, his foster parents began to treat him like a trash and stranger, until they finally threw him out of the house.

"Why must my case be different from others?" Oliver cried, his head still on the locker to avoid anyone noticing.

Classes for the day was finally over, and Oliver wasted no time in exiting the school premisses. He already went through enough hell for one day and couldn't being himself to spend even one more minute there.

Oliver walked through the streets as usual as he made his way back home. In less than thirty minutes, he arrived back home and walked inside.

It was a one room apartment that barely had enough space to fit in a bed and a cupboard. Oliver threw himself on his bed with his head facing the ceiling that had a hole on it and he could actually see the evening sky through it.

"The entrance test of the Travelers is in a few months time. How am I supposed to contest in the test when I don't even have any talent!" Alex screamed internally with a saddened expression.

After losing his parents in the monsters invasion, Oliver has always had this dream of becoming a Traveler. Travelers is a group of powerful Awakeners that makes sure they keep the world safe and avoid any more invasions.

They also travel through planets, hunting down beasts and collecting their valuable body parts. Oliver has always wanted to become a Traveler to teach those monsters a lesson and also prevent any more invasions that could ruin more families.

However, with the way things were going so far, Oliver wasn't sure if that little dream of his would come to pass.

Before one could become a Traveler, one must first undergo a tough test that proves he is indeed ready to become a Traveler. And the test only happens ones in years, and in different locations.

The test would happen in a few months from now and also in Oliver's school.

"It seems I'll have to forget about it and live the rest of my life as a nobod-" Oliver began to cough suddenly and he stood up from his bed with his left hand on his chest, making his way towards his small wooden cupboard.

Oliver opened the cupboard and took out a small round container that a single blue pill could be seen inside.

"Damn it, just one pill left?" Oliver exclaimed, his eyes glued to the pill inside the transparent container and he was still coughing non-stop. Oliver was born with a heart problem, and the only way to stop the heart problem temporarily was if he keeps taking the pills whenever it happens.

Oliver had no idea what the source of the pills was from, his parents only handed it over to him before they died, and since then he has been swallowing them whenever the issue starts.

"If I take the last one, what would happen later when it starts again?" Oliver contemplated, his whole face now drenched in sweat and bright red due to coughing heavily. "Screw that! Let me worry about living past today first!"

Oliver then opened the container and threw the pill into his mouth, before swallowing it instantly. He picked up a glass of water and gulped it all and placed the glass back on the table.

Oliver wiped his mouth and turned to return back to his bed, but his visions became blurry and it felt like his head was spinning which allowed him to lose balance and fall to the floor.

"What's... happening?" Oliver mused as his eyes began to close and he could barely see anything.

[YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE TASK BY CONSUMING ALL ENERGY PILLS]

[CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE AWAKENED YOUR DIVINE TALENT.....]

Unable to fight it any longer, Oliver finally passed out.

The wind was cold. It howled across the mountain roads and cut through thick cloaks. Riders on fast horses rushed down snowy trails. Their eyes were wide with fear. Their faces were pale. They carried news from the Frost Peaks. In the city of Winterdeep, deep inside the shining white Council Hall, Oliver stood tall. The chamber was wide, lit with soft blue crystals that hummed with warmth. Around him stood the important ones: Serenya, a Dreamwright from Zara's line, calm and graceful. Arin, the shield-guard, quiet and strong. And Ambassador Miro, who had traveled far from Snowhall, his face lined with worry.Outside the window, smoke curled over the mountain peaks.Serenya stepped forward. Her voice was soft, but firm. "The Purists are doing rituals. They use their emotions to power strange veins in the stone. They want to bring back logic rule."Arin looked around. "They haven’t attacked. Not yet. But they are getting ready."Miro frowned. "If they act soon, the Frost Peaks will b

Winterdeep’s Grand Hall was bright with life. The tall windows let sunlight pour in, making the white and blue banners shine like water and sky. Harmonists and Purists filled the hall. Some wore soft robes of pale blue, while others dressed in clean white with silver trim. On the balconies above, choirs sang. Some used deep emotional tones that stirred the heart. Others used sharp, steady rhythms that followed strict logic. At the front of the hall, Oliver stood on the main platform. Lady Iselda stood beside him. She wore a long robe with both blue and white patterns. Oliver held his sword gently at his side. Behind them, the Beacon glowed softly.Lady Iselda spoke quietly, her voice calm but firm. "Today, we start a new path. The Pact of Emotional Balance. It will guide our world. Reason and feeling, side by side."Oliver looked at the people in front of him. The sun barely touched the ice-crowned towers of Frost Peaks when Oliver stood by the Magnus Chorus Beacon. Wind stirred his cloak, heavy with dew. Around him, Harmonist cadets practiced, arms outstretched, voices shaping invisible chords in the air like dancers carving meaning into mist.Below the Beacon, the Council of Resonance waited in silence. Their robes shimmered faintly, each one tuned to an emotion, hope, sorrow, joy, discipline.Lady Iselda climbed the steps. Her silver eyes met his. “You will be our voice at the summit,” she said. “The Purist Enlighteners agreed. But only under one rule.”Oliver didn’t flinch. “What rule?”“The Bowman Approach,” she said. “No weapons. No pressure. Just... proof.”He nodded slowly, his voice low. “Then I’ll bring melody. Not to strike, but to call them back to truth.”He picked up the Apocalypse Blade, not to use, but to carry as symbol. The Resonance Ark waited at the edge of the cliffs, its hull glowing with gentle chords. Dreamwrights i
