The system forced Gabe to spit, and the half-chewed chicken piece and bones flew out of his mouth and fell on top of his friends.

Utterly shocked, Gabe thought everything was over. He thought they would gang up and beat him so badly he would take a few weeks to recover.

However, to his shock and relief, they didn’t even react.

They were already too drunk at that point to realize what had happened.

“Whew…” Gabe breathed a sigh of relief but then scolded the system. “Are you trying to ruin my relationship with them?”

[What sort of relationship is this? You should be alpha, not a freaking beta when you interact with others!] The system also sharply responded. [Don’t show me this type of behavior again, or you’ll lose my respect.]

Gabe felt threatened by the system’s words. “But, didn’t Jesus tell us to be meek and humble?”

[There’s a difference between being meek and miserable. Jesus is the alpha of alphas. He never begged people to believe in God. He commanded everyone to repent from their sinful life and believe in God, for their own good. That’s how you should be. Alphas never beg. Alphas have unshakable conviction, you understand.]

Gabe felt motivated by the system’s words. “Mm. That makes sense. Wait, don’t you have a name?”

[You can call me Systa.]

“Systa. That’s a lazy name.”

[Yes…. No, it’s not. I’m not lazy. I’ll make you so strong, you’ll even be able to stand on your dick if you want.]

Gabe blinked twice. “T-That’s not possible, right? Surely…” he couldn’t even imagine himself doing that. “You must be joking.”

[Like I said, anything is possible if you trust me.]

“How about you give me a million dollars first?”

[I make alphas not money. If you want a million dollars, you have to work for it. I’ll help you with that.]

“I have to work?” Gabe’s shoulders slumped. “I thought you’ll be able to print money or something.”

[I’m an alpha-making system, not a money-making system.]

Gabe’s eyes shone. “Wait, does that mean there are money-making systems?”

[Yes. I’ve met different kinds of systems a few times, but they all hate me because I’m superior to them. Still, don’t worry. Once you level up, I’ll be able to tame them and make you supremely powerful and rich. Until then, you will need to bear the hate.]

“Huh, so you are also hated, huh…” Gabe weakly exhaled through the mouth. He looked a bit deflated.

[You should just focus on defeating the alphas for now. Do that, and the rest will automatically follow. If you want me to put it in biblical terms. Seek first the kingdom of God, and everything you need will be added to you.]

“This makes sense, too. Anyway, I’ll trust you for now, but don’t control my body without warning.”

[I’ll keep that in mind.]

“How do you even control my body anyway?” Gabe asked in confusion. He really wanted to know. “How’s that even possible, for a mere ring?”

[Human body is made out of soil, but parts of the body interact through electrical signals. I’m just sending such signals to control your body.]

“Wow,” Gabe was impressed as well as shocked. “I had no idea such a thing was even possible.”

[Well, I can control every part of your body, whether it be your brain or your dick.]

Gabe’s shoulders jerked. “Stop. I don’t want to talk about it right now.” It felt quite weird when a female voice talked about his private part.

Once his friends finished their drinking and meals, they put a few dollars in Gabe’s hand and left without cleaning the mess they made on the floor.

When Gabe ate the leftovers and began sweeping the floor, Systa spoke furiously.

[Just for a few dollars, you lick your friends’ boots. Just thinking about it irks my nerves.]

“Maybe, but it’s one of the steady sources of my income,” Gabe shamelessly said. “My friends drink every other day. Over a period of one month, what they give will add up to a hundred dollars and sometimes more. Hundred dollars is not much for them, but it’s a lot for me. It’s very useful to pay the bills.”

[I get that, but you shouldn’t do this anymore. An alpha shouldn’t be subservient to anybody. Tell your friends to look for another spot.]

Gabe’s heart skipped a beat. “If I tell them without giving a damn good reason, they’ll beat me.”

[If you don’t man up, I’ll take over your body and beat their assess black and blue.]

“I-I’ll think of something, so give me some time.”

Just then, someone stopped by the main door. He turned his head and received a big shock. A voluptuous beauty with a wonderful smile on her face was standing at the door. She glowed like a star in a sparkling gold dress that barely exposed her knees. This woman was none other than Kiera, the same woman that had dumped him on his wedding day.

What was she doing here? Why did she come to his house?

Gabe looked baffled. In that second or two, millions of neurons fired in his brain as he wondered what reason brought her to him. Did she perhaps come to regret what she had done to him?

But why did she come right when he was sweeping the floor?

He threw the broom aside and tried to smile.

Kiera entered the house and glanced around before finally settling her eyes on her ex-fiance. “If I had married you, I would be sweeping the floor in your place right now, wouldn’t I?”

Gabe’s smile weakened. In his mind, he was thinking that she wasn’t wrong.

“I didn’t come to poke you, Gabe,” she took out an envelope from her purse. “I came here to personally invite you to my wedding.”

Gabe’s expression froze. She came to meet him after three years just to say this? Did she again bet with her friends that she would make Gabe attend her wedding? She was definitely capable of doing that, he thought.

“It took me three years to find the right one,” Kiera calmly said. “He’s a multi-millionaire who doesn’t let my bare feet touch the ground. He treats me like a treasure, even more than you did. Am I not lucky?”

Gabe forced out a smile and nodded.

“Don’t forget to come to the wedding,” she slightly rested her hand on his shoulder. “I will introduce you to my husband and tell him to give you a job, you know. You look like you need one.” Her words stung him deeply. And then she left.

Gabe walked up to the door and saw Kiera enter a Porsche 911. The man in the driving seat looked tall and handsome. He briefly cast a glance toward Gabe before driving away.

Gabe returned to his old sofa and plopped himself down. He lowered his head; his thumb and forefinger pressing the bridge of his nose.

[Are you controlling yourself from crying? You’re such a beta.]

“Shut up,” Gabe sniffled a little. “I’m not crying. I’m just…”

Even though he didn’t tell outright as to how he was feeling, Systa could tell from the readings of his heart that it was aching so much.

Gabe glanced at the Sleeping Disaster and said, “Can you clothe them?”The beast shook its wings, and its feathers flew and wrapped around the naked noble clan members, thereby covering their shame.“Go to safety,” Gabe looked at the noble family members and their soldiers.“Thank you,” they said and ran away from the neighborhood.“You’re only delaying their death,” Duncan said.“Or, the opposite,” Gabe calmly stated. His fists began to glow with ethereal energy. Light gathers at his knuckles.Duncan squinted his eyes. “You think anything will change in just a few hours?”“A few hours can decide a lot of things in this world,” Gabe responded. “But I only need a few minutes to decide your fate.”“You damn little underworlder,” Duncan leaped forth. “I’ll show you the difference between a brick and a wall!” His sword spun through his hand. “Sanctum Skewer!”It was a short-range thrust.Gabe countered it with his own punch. “Heavenflare Fist!”The surroundings dimmed as if a veil had bee

Either serve the Swanmere family, or perish,” Gregg said. Most of the soldiers agreed to serve, and those who did not agree were taken to the edge of the realm along with the noble family members. It was quite shameful for the noble family members to walk nude in front of the entire realm. There were women and children among them as well.Gregg was making a statement by doing this. He knew very well that it was fear that would rule the masses more than anything. The noble family members and the soldiers were brought to the edge of the realm.Gregg mockingly asked them, “If you have any last prayers, then you can do them.”The head of the noble family cried out, “O, Lord, please destroy these wicked rebels and bring peace to the kingdom!”Gregg got angry

After Gabe recited the words of the book and showed her the battle forms, she cleared her throat.Instead of praising him, she said he barely met the qualifications.“I can understand the basic theory,” Gabe said, “but when I execute the attack, the result is not coming as it’s supposed to.”“That’s because you’re imagining everything the wrong way,” Reveria said. “The person who wrote the book did not include the mechanics with which he intended vivre to be used, so naturally, you’re going to get things wrong. It’s like you’re trying to swim by just moving your head while keeping the rest of your body still.”“Can you talk in a way that I can understand?” Gabe said.“Haha,” Reveria chortled. “Aura originates from within, but vivre comes from outside. Aura can flow like a flame, smoke, mist, lightning, or however you want it to, but vivre is slightly different. It can flow freely like aura, but its effect is far weaker when you do it like that, but if you use proper structure and geom

On the 55th realm.Reveria trapped the flames in bubbles and sent the bubbles to float away from the realm. If it wasn’t for her, the flames would have spread through Leggie’s body and burned it to ashes.Even so, it had lost the front two legs on its left side because they were cut by Duncan.“Duncan the Divine Wall…” Reveria frowned. “He really deserves the name. He’s got no weakness to exploit.” She looked in the direction where smoke was coming.People were gathering there. That was the spot where Gabe had fallen.Reveria, despite being wounded, rushed over, hoping Gabe wasn’t in a critical condition. However, to her shock, Gabe was already sitting up.“That hurts…” He was bleeding from the forehead, but the bleeding stopped on its own. “They really got me.”His eyesight was still dizzy.“That wasn’t a simple throw, was it?” Gabe thought. “He infused it with vivre and aura… It disrupted my mental balance.”“He must have used psychic aura,” Reveria said, making the people step asid

The soldiers attacked Reveria and Miguel. Both of them struggled to fight as they weren’t at their full strength.Leggie appeared out of nowhere and helped them.Duncan was about to help the soldiers get rid of the spider, but Gregg stopped him.“That beast… I like it. We can tame it and ride it,” Gregg said.“It looks ugly. Are you sure about petting it, Lord Gregg?” Duncan asked. “You know how the Swanmere family is.”Gregg then thought about it.The Swanmere family was obsessed about beauty, so Gregg reconsidered it and sighed, “Alright. Do what you want with it.”Duncan unsheathed his sword. “Divine Intercession…” He stood right where he was, but his vivre split three clones of himself, which appeared before the enemies in a flash and countered their moves. All three of them—Reveria, Leggie, and Miguel—had their defenses broken and were badly injured.Reveria was the only one who created layers of bubbles at the last second and lessened the impact of the enemy’s attack.Still, she

“Who are you?” Duncan asked. “For you to speak so recklessly… you must be quite confident in your skill.”“He must be the guy who helped the prince escape,” Minister Gregg said while smirking at Gabe. “Don’t underestimate him, Sir Duncan. Fight him with all we’ve got so we won’t waste much time here.”“As you wish, Lord Gregg,” Duncan signaled his soldiers to gather, and they did.“Be careful, Gabe,” Reveria said, joining Gabe on the side. “Duncan the Divine Wall… he’s known to never take a step back. There’s only one way to get out of this situation. We either kill him or knock him out of his senses.”“You take care of the flies around him,” Gabe told her, to which she nodded. He stepped forward, cracking his knuckles.“Do you want to know how it feels when you get hit by a fast-moving fortress?” Duncan planted his feet wide, gathered heavenly energy into the blade and thrust once. It wasn’t a flashy move like Miguel’s Celestial Lance. It wasn’t anywhere near fast, either. It was rea
