James spun in a slow circle, heart still pounding from the escape, his palms pressed against the golden walls that refused to budge.

The Vault pulsed softly with light, each glyph lighting up like a slow heartbeat, humming with time-bound power he could barely comprehend.

He sank to his knees, forehead resting against the warm metal.

“Training?” he muttered. “I didn’t sign up for training. I came to save my parents, not get locked in some… temporal tomb.”

A faint sound answered him—like a breath through glass. Then, without warning, the room darkened.

A hologram flickered to life in the center of the chamber, forming a figure draped in ceremonial armor, etched with the symbols James had seen in old Guardian texts Striker made him read on the run.

“Guardian Heir,” the figure said, its voice a blend of male and female tones, both human and more.

“You have arrived at the Threshold of Purpose. Before you lies the path to reclaiming the Continuum.”

James stood, backing up warily. “I don

Flames licked the walls of the entryway, casting jagged shadows across the dusty floor as the heat surged toward them. James’s hands trembled slightly as he held the blaster Striker had thrown to him. It felt too light to do any real damage, and yet somehow, it vibrated faintly in his grip like it held a life of its own."Through the back!" Striker barked, already moving. The smoke curled thickly as they rushed down a narrow hallway, Striker kicking open a half-rotten wooden door that led to a hidden stairwell. The ground beneath them rumbled, the Seeker's arrival twisting the air into something unnatural."Where does this lead?" James coughed, eyes watering as he tried to stay close."To the tunnels," Striker replied. "Old railway lines that cut under the city. Carlos used to use them to smuggle tech between timelines before the Time Guardians locked them.""And now?"Striker gave him a grim smile. "Now we unlock them."As they descended, the flickering lights faded behind them, repl

James and Strikers drove very fast through the dark alley. "Have we lost them?" James asked looking at Striker who was driving like a maniac. " We are not safe until we are there. " There? What the hell are you talking about?" James asked. " The Seeker. It knows you have the spectacle now and I bet he is on his way." Striker shouted. " Seat belt!" James drew the seat belt over his chest. His face was a little tensed wondering what Strikers meant by the word strikers. A lightning flashed right behind them. " He is here." Strikers said, cursing under his breath. " I knew this was going to happen. We might need to go see someone." Striker said immediately as the Seeker sped with his motorbike right behind them. James looked to see someone cloaked running after them. " Who are we going to see? You don't need to hide anything from me now, Striker. You said you wanted to help, then tell me where we are going too?" Striker took a sharp bending trying to lose their pursuer. " C

Selena lifted her head slowly, the weight of the chains digging into her bruised wrists. Her mouth was dry, the taste of metal lingering at the back of her tongue. Every breath was a struggle, every movement a test of endurance. But her eyes—those sharp, defiant eyes—never wavered from Reginald’s."You should ask your men,” she said, her voice raspy but unwavering. “They were the last ones to touch it.”Reginald’s jaw twitched. He stepped forward, the polished leather of his shoes clicking against the stone floor like a judge’s gavel. “Do not play games with me, Selena. You think you’re clever? Risking your life for that boy? For what? Love?"He spat the last word like it disgusted him.Selena said nothing. She simply looked at him—truly looked. Not as the tyrant she had feared growing up, not as the cold-blooded collector of relics. But as a man desperate to control what was slipping through his fingers."You think I wanted this life for you?” he asked suddenly, voice lowering. “I bu

Reginald's loud noise echoed through the hallway as his men sprung into action. Each grabbing weapons they could lay Thier hands on. " Make sure she is unharmed. I need her to explain why she will betray me like that!" Reginald shouted at the man in front of him. " I will carry out your order with utmost discretion." he said bowing before heading out. Reginald stood at window looking as each cars disappeared into darkness with only one thing in his mind. The hope that his daughter hasn't given the spectacle back to James. ******************************************************************The cold night air clung to Selena's skin like sweat as she darted through the hospital’s back entrance, heart thundering against her ribcage. She looked back frantically hoping and praying they were not right behind her. The satchel with the Spectacle was pressed tightly to her chest, the relic burning faintly through the leather as if aware of its surroundings. She knew her father's men weren’

The room was tense as both father and daughter stared at each other. Selena flinched at her father’s words but quickly masked her expression with a calm smirk.“In love?” she echoed, standing slowly, pacing toward the window. “You give James too much credit.”Reginald wasn’t convinced. “I’ve seen that look before, Selena. The same look your mother had when she thought I didn’t notice her slipping away.”Reginald asked Selena how her mother left them for another man. "She left at my weakest, but then I looked like I had something she had never thought I was going to have. Power." He had told Selena the story over and over again that it was beginning to get boring. She turned sharply. “Then maybe you should’ve paid more attention.”The words hung between them like ice.Reginald narrowed his eyes. “If you're letting your emotions cloud your judgement, you’ll end up ruining everything. We have come too far to just let everything go to waste."“No,” Selena said coldly. “I’m trying to sav
