"Ahhh, the monsters are coming Jake run! Get out of there now!"

The voices blaring from the fallen headset continued as the unconscious body slumped over his desk with water dripping down the floor slowly, remained unresponsive.

The monitor screen kept on flashing light before displaying [GAME OVER].

"Jake! You still there?!"

"Forget him Aiden, Man let's us down".

"This is the first time though. Ugh, we lose again".

"I'm off man, later".

"You too"

"Jake, we coming around later".

Slowly the monitor screen dimmed due to inactivity while still humming slightly.

"Ughh"

Suddenly, the unconscious body jerked up violently, as water and also a mouthful of blood spurted out of his mouth. Coughing violently and also wheezing along, his left hand brushed against a game pad.

Immediately he shielded his eyes as the light rays violently stung his organ of sight. With an arm outstretched shielding his face, he slowly looked around his surroundings.

He couldn't see much of nothing since the room was dark but with the light from the screen, a single bed, properly sized for a young chap laid behind him. Across the walls of the bed head were posters displaying characters of what looked like a shooting game and last but not least, a curvy stunning female clad in a bikini.

'His favourite actress ? Or porn actress ?'

He couldn't recognize the beauty but looking around, he could say that the room wasn't bad looking for a young teenager. He turned around, now facing the monitor screen. He read the in game messages that were yet to be cleared as he looked at the dynamics of the game curiously.

To his left was a control pad which he picked, unknown that it was wet. It dripped water down his forearm, as he shivered from the sensations.

"Cold"

This was his first word upon reincarnation and looking back to his previous life, he was happy he was given a second chance.

He never really believed in the transmigration talk. Came across that topic and its believers, but he cared less. All he ever cared about was getting a job, save some money, go to college, then get his family out of poverty.

Sadly, life is a bitch and having just clocked eighteen, the day after his birthday, he died from a ghastly road accident on his way to get his daily bread.

He was glad that the talkers weren't clowns and had actually known the truth all this while even if he didn't belive in it, at least he was favoured by it.

He held the game pad in his left hand and swinged it for some seconds before cleaning it dry with the bottom of his shirt. Tracing the trail of the water, he saw a plastic bottle, half empty laying on the floor in its own puddle.

'Huh, what happened here' He thought to himself. Quickly he picked the bottle, and glanced around for the cap. Unable to find it, he just placed the bottle on the table and turned his attention towards the screen.

Tapping the X button, a welcome message popped in.

"WELCOME BACK SCARECROW"

"CALL TO ACTION PRESENTS ITS NEW SEASON, CELEBRATING A CENTURY OF WORLD WIDE MONSTER GAMING"

"Monster gaming?, that's new"

"WOULD YOU WANT TO SEE A REPLAY ?"

"Umm, sure".

He clicked on the 'Yes' icon as the screen loaded up. His mouth was left hanging as he only managed to utter a single word while remaining speechless.

The graphics was clear and futuristic as the four characters of the players loaded up, grabbed their weapons and walked into the blue shimmering portal.

With a single mission to "DESTROY ALL MONSTERS, CLEAR THE DUNGEON AND HARVEST THEIR ENERGY CORES AND BRING BACK GLORY TO THE REAPERS CLAN", they were raring to go.

While the mission was in progress, the sound of someone struggling to breathe could be heard over the microphone, albeit faintly for some seconds before going silent. while the game continued, his friends were oblivious to his sudden death.

"Jake, you still there, you were saying" lucky, another team mate called out.

"Huh so this was how he died". Chris said to himself while still staring at the screen, albeit a little fascinated on what would happen next.

He screamed out loud suddenly as he began to feel a inner heat flowing through his veins in waves. The more waves, the more intensified it was.

He looked at the screen, then around the room as his vision began to get blurry, slowly he could feel his eyes closing against his will. He had the urge to fight it, but he couldn't concentrate to do so, he couldn't will himself to do so, and with that he dropped down unconsciously with his head slamming against the table violently.

Some moments later, he woke up with a heavy head and migraine. He felt his front hair was a little damp if not wet, and slowly he stood up. With the aid of the screen light, he laid down on

In this apocalypse world where talents and special abilities exists, and you can never get a chicken without a bone in it, humans worst nightmares, were the dungeons that randomly spawned out of thin air, and the monsters that appeared within it.

"Shit, that should be his sister" He muttered to himself as he self-consciously straightened his hair and rubbed his eyes quickly.

"Yeah , a minute please" He called out loud to her.

"Alright " After a brief pause, she continued.

"You made it right?"

The air was tensed at that moment. Having gone through the real Jake memories, and knowing fully well that the result of him been talentless was what killed him. What if he told his sister now, would she also die like him ?

"What you don't know won't kill you as ignorance is bliss at times" he said to himself as he made up his mind.

"Yes sis, I did!" He responded cheerfully.

"Oh that's lovely!" He could feel the relief in her voice.

"I knew you would make it, so I prepared your favourite dish, don't stay long" She said with a pleasant tone before leaving.

"Damn it" He cursed as he looked at his sock claden feet
