Julian could not sleep soundly that night. The thought of the network team's 40% data compression system kept running through his mind. If left alone, those overly smart staff of his would make T-Store's operations extremely economical and efficient.

"I have to act," Julian muttered while looking in the mirror in his office very early in the morning. "If I can't order them to directly damage the servers, I will ruin their work focus from the inside."

Julian immediately drew up an internal disruption plan that he deemed very fitting. His strategy was to distract the staff so that they would be too busy having fun and forget to optimize the server system.

The first tactic started at ten o'clock in the morning. Julian summoned the entire network and developer team to the main recreation room. There, three professional yoga instructors were already standing, complete with colorful mats.

"Starting today," Julian announced with a feigned serious face, "your mental and physical health is Tengda Corp's top priority. Every two hours, all activities in front of the computer must be stopped. All of you must do meditation and yoga stretching for forty-five minutes. Anyone whose fingers are still touching a keyboard during meditation hour will have their bonus cut!"

Harry was astonished, as were the other network technicians. "But Boss, we are in the middle of global T-Store server stability testing for the launch the day after tomorrow—"

"No buts, Harry!" Julian cut in firmly. "Your health is non-negotiable. Now, everyone take your respective mat positions."

Julian smiled with satisfaction in the corner of the room seeing the technicians forced to sit cross-legged, close their eyes, and listen to slow flute relaxation music. 'Good. Sit there for an hour. Let your servers experience minor glitches from being unsupervised,' Julian cheered inwardly.

However, Julian underestimated the effects of meditation. After being forced to relax for forty-five minutes, the technicians' minds instead became much clearer and their stress disappeared. As soon as the meditation hour ended, they returned to their computers refreshed, and their code-typing speed actually doubled because their bodies were fit.

Seeing his first tactic fail, Julian immediately launched the second tactic in the afternoon. He ordered thirty units of the latest game consoles along with the highest-spec Virtual Reality (VR) glasses on the market and placed them right in the hallway leading to the server room.

Julian even called several senior staff members. "I just bought the latest racing and shooting games. I challenge anyone in this division to beat my high score. Whoever wins against me will get a $500 cash bonus this very afternoon!"

The office hallway instantly became chaotic. Hearing the word bonus and a challenge from the boss, the young staff who were initially focused on monitoring the network immediately left their desks. The room suddenly turned into a noisy game tournament arena with shouts and laughter.

Julian deliberately joined in playing, laughed loudly, and prolonged the duration of the games so that their work time would be wasted. He glanced at the wall clock with a victorious feeling. 'Perfect. The servers have been left unattended without new code for three hours. My disruption plan worked.'

However, amidst the bustle of the tournament, Harry, who did not join the games, actually stood in the corner of the room holding his notebook. He stared at Julian, who was engrossed in playing with the staff, with full admiration.

Chloe Sterling, who happened to just arrive at the office to bring afternoon snacks, stood beside Harry. She looked at Julian who was laughing freely with his employees.

"Harry," Chloe called while crossing her arms over her chest, smiling at the situation. "Why is your boss instead inviting everyone to play games when the launch is only two days away?"

Harry whispered in a respectful tone. "Miss Chloe... Boss Julian's vision is truly beyond expectations. He deliberately created this relaxed situation through a game tournament. He knows our network team is very tense facing the global launch. By forcing us to play and laugh, he is training our mental readiness so that we don't collapse on launch day later. He is willing to lower his prestige as a boss to protect his employees' psychology."

Chloe was stunned. She stared at Julian, who was shouting excitedly because he lost playing a game on the television screen. Her heart beat fast. 'Julian... you even think about your employees' mental health to this extent? You are truly caring and unpredictable,' Chloe thought, her face reddening because of the increasingly piling misunderstandings.

Exactly at three o'clock in the afternoon, the office dismissal bell rang. According to Julian's absolute rule, the entire office computer system automatically shut down centrally so that no one could work overtime.

Julian took off his VR glasses with a very satisfied feeling. Today, his staff only worked effectively for less than two hours due to the yoga interruption, luxurious lunch, and the game tournament he had designed.

"Good job for today, everyone! Now please go home and enjoy your evening!" Julian exclaimed while waving his hand. In his heart, he laughed with satisfaction. 'With messy preparations and minimal supervision like this, the global T-Store the day after tomorrow is guaranteed to experience massive glitches because the servers aren't ready! My cash will definitely burst!'

Julian walked back to his workspace with a relaxed step, unaware that Harry and the entire network team were secretly exchanging meaningful looks in the corridor.

Harry nodded slowly toward the technicians, then whispered firmly, "You heard it yourselves, right? The Boss has given everything for us today. Now, it's time for us to execute our secret plan tonight from our respective homes."

The technicians smiled widely, ready to deliver the biggest surprise that Julian completely did not expect on launch day later.

  • CHAPTER 9: Cash Defense Plan

Julian hurriedly put down his fork. Cold sweat began to drench the back of his neck. His initial intention to make Chloe a financial burden had instead turned into a new problem. This girl now actually wanted to donate a massive amount of funds that could thwart his loss-making plan."Wait, Chloe," Julian interrupted, raising both hands to calm the girl in front of him. He adjusted his tone to sound like a businessman giving important advice. "That plan to inject funds... don't do it."Chloe furrowed her brows, staring at Julian in confusion. "Why? Doesn't T-Store need a lot of money to burn for subsidies? The money from Ember Beauty can help ease Tengda's expense burden, Julian.""That is exactly where it's wrong," Julian said, leaning back casually while crossing his legs to hide his panic. "Tengda Corp's business concept is full independence. If we mix cosmetic profits with digital subsidy funds, the market will see us as a corporation deliberately cross-subsidizing for the sake of

  • CHAPTER 8: The Details Behind the Madness

The plan to revamp T-Store into a global distribution platform could not happen overnight. The following days at Apex Tower were filled with piles of server specification files and technical debates. Julian deliberately spent a lot of time in the office, overseeing every operational detail with one main goal: to ensure their expenses were truly leaking from all sides. That morning, Harry entered Julian's office with increasingly thick dark circles under his eyes. He carried a very thick pile of documents."Boss Julian," Harry placed the documents on the desk with a rather heavy thud. "Regarding your order to cut the platform commission to 5% and provide a 70% subsidy... our financial team and network division have stayed up all night to calculate the simulation. This... truly defies all common sense."Julian sipped his free premium tea calmly. "Which part do you think doesn't make sense, Harry?"Harry opened the middle page of the document, pointing to an expense graph that plunged sh

The crowd of rich people and beauty critics in the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Riverdale Hotel apparently did not intend to protest Chloe. They instead fought to get forward to buy up Ember Beauty's cosmetic products. As it turned out, the viral effect of the game Tic-Tac-Toe: Cosmic Edition also dragged her cosmetic product along. On the internet, netizens discovered the fact that the sole investor behind the unique cosmetics was Julian Vance from Tengda Corp. Gamers and influencers immediately made a new theory: if the genius Julian dared to fund the meteorite dust cream, it meant the product must have an artistic concept as high as his Tic-Tac-Toe game. The grey cream in the Italian crystal container that was previously considered a joke was suddenly considered the coolest new fashion trend. Socialite women immediately swarmed the sales website for fear of falling behind the times. The expensive $250 target price that Julian set instead made the product look even more exclusive and

He wanted to see firsthand how his $300,000 was spent in the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Riverdale Hotel. As soon as he stepped inside, Julian was momentarily surprised. The room had been transformed into a dark, futuristic-themed exhibition with blue and silver neon lights. In the middle of the hall, the Italian-made crystal bottles were displayed on marble pillars, made to look like rare items from outer space.Chloe Sterling stood near the main stage in a silver evening gown. Her face looked tense, but as soon as she saw Julian arrive, her eyes instantly lit up. She walked quickly toward Julian, ignoring the several fashion critics crowding around her."Julian! You actually came!"

  • CHAPTER 5: The Storm Begins to Form

Two weeks passed quietly in Riverdale City. For Julian, every day was pleasant. He spent his time relaxing in his office, reading comics, or simply enjoying coffee from the office cafeteria. His System Funds continued to decrease drastically to finance the luxurious office operations, as well as the capital for his two major projects. The first periaodic report came from Chloe's cosmetics company, Ember Beauty.Chloe sent a short message containing photos of her cosmetic product samples. Through his phone screen, Julian saw a complex, asymmetrically shaped crystal glass bottle with geometric carvings made by Italian craftsmen. Inside, there was a silvery-grey cream that shined faintly.Chloe: "Julian! I managed to cooperate with the best independent laboratory. The first batch of simulated meteorite dust raw materials has arrived from a Swiss supplier. The logistics costs and these crystal containers used up $150,000 of your investment funds.
