4. First Misson

Lucian glanced through the system, and his mouth watered at different abilities he didn't know were possible on Earth. He was excited to test all of them but discovered he needed more points, and his current balance was 10000 SP with a 10 SP spending limit.

"How do I gain System Points and increase my spending limit?" Lucian asked, noticing that the mind-reading ability cost 10,000 points, which he considered above his spending limit.

"You can gain more system points by completing tasks provided by the system. Difficult tasks would require using unique abilities available at the system store. Successful tasks would lead to an increase in system points; One complete task equals 10000 system points. Your spending limit would also be increased depending on the difficulties of the task. One failed task would decrease 10000 system points, and If you don't have any system points during a failed task, it would result in physical punishment." Viri explained, and Lucian nodded his head in understanding.

The rumbling sound shifted his gaze to his stomach. Lucian was very hungry and hadn't eaten anything. He planned on having dinner with Veronica but ended up humiliated and beaten up.

"How many system points do you want to exchange for physical money?" Viri said, feeling Lucian's hungry state.

When Lucian heard this, his eyes widened in surprise. He knew what the power of money could do in this world. He had been a victim of that power and would never let himself go through that experience again.

"How much is 1 System point to physical money?"

"One System point equals one million dollars," Viri said, and Lucian's jaw dropped. He couldn't believe his ears. The amount reverberated down his soul. Lucian wanted to scream with happiness but had to calm himself. He needed to confirm Viri's words.

The green button, which Viri indicated as the exchange button, appeared, and Lucian clicked and selected ten system points. It was deducted and converted to dollars.

The phone in his pocket vibrated, and Lucian quickly brought it out. Through the cracked screen of his phone, he could see the sum of $10,000,001 [ten million and one dollar] in his account.

"I am rich!!" Lucian yelled with joy, tears pricking the corner of his eyes.

"Yes, master, you are rich physically, but systematically, you need more points to be considered rich," Viri said.

Lucian nodded his head, feeling the warmth of joy. The words of being systematically rich can wait, but this can not. Lucian sat on his bed, different thoughts running through his mind. If this system is this powerful and can make him rich and influential, his revenge on those who stole, understated, and humiliated him would be inevitable.

[First mission: spend ten million dollars in Three hours.]

[Abilities: None]

Lucian saw the notification and immediately jumped to his feet with a thrill. But the pain in his body sent him crashing to his bed.

"Master, do you want to buy a healing potion?" Viri asked, and Lucian nodded his head.

"Sorry, master, you have reached your spending limit for today," Viri replied, and Lucian grunted. After some minutes, Lucian stands to his feet.

[Timer; two hour forty-five minutes]

The system informed, and Lucian quickly dashed out of his dorm, ignoring the aching from his body. He ran towards the University gate before he could hail a taxi downtown.

"Can you please step on the gas," Lucian muttered to the taxi driver, who was driving carefully. The driver ignored him, and Lucina stared at the time, which seemed faster than the taxi.

The taxi finally stopped in front of the re-estate company, which Lucian had always glimpsed at whenever he was going or returning from his part-time job. Lucian wanted to purchase a house, but it was still 3 am, and the company was opening at 6 am.

"Damn it!" Lucian muttered. Lucian quickly brought out his phone and copied the company website address. Happy with his fast network, Lucian could browse the company website, scrolling through various house prices with the lowest starting from one million dollars.

After a few seconds, Lucian selected a condo worth eight million dollars. A debit notification popped up on his phone, and the company system immediately sent him a receipt for the online purchase.

Lucian left with three million dollars in his account and an average of one hour to spend it. Lucian wanted to book another taxi, but time didn't permit him.

After some agonizing minutes, they arrived at one of the biggest car shops in Greenxive. The building of La'chrunii came into view, and Lucian instantly climbed out of the cab while glancing at the time of thirty minutes. The two security men outside immediately block his way. "I want to buy a car!" Lucian half cried, not removing his eyes from his watch. The two security men glance at themselves before reluctantly retracting their hands, allowing Lucian into the building. When Lucian was inside, he was graced by a pleasant atmosphere, complimented by the expensive aura of the building.

Lucian approached the front desk occupied by eight sales girls. They were whispering among themselves, and the moment they noticed Lucian, they all acted professional, wearing a uniform smile, which partly disappeared when their eyes examined his body.

Lucian was forced to glance at his body, which was badly stained with blood and dirt. Out of thrill, he had forgotten to change his clothes.

"Twenty minutes minutes left!" Viri's voice notified in his head.

"What! How is that possible?" Lucian frowned at his watch. He wondered why time was in haste to make him fail his first mission.

"I knew this one was insane!" One of the sales girls muttered, earning Lucian's gaze. The rest of the sales girls giggle in response. None of them bothered to ask him what he wanted to buy.

Lucian ignores their hostility and says. "What can I get for three million dollars?" Lucian asked, and he was sure it was the right question, but he didn't know the girls were laughing at him.

"Three million!" One of the girls repeated. "Do you even own a dollar?" The girl asked, glaring at his dirty, cheap suit and dirt-coloured shoes. Though that shoe was brand-new and he had gotten it for a few dollars, the incident made it unrecognizable.

Lucian bit his lower lip, holding his frustration.

"Hey! Where is my money?" the taxi driver yelled from a distance.

Lucian turned in the direction of the angry man approaching him, and then he remembered he hadn't paid the taxi driver when he ran off in a hurry. Lucian tapped at his pocket, but he didn't have any cash.

"Can I get a dollar from any of you? I don't have cash with me," Lucian said to the sales girls, who, for no reason, were quiet as they all pretended to be busy and ignored Lucian.

"How can I help you?" A sweet voice inquired behind him. Lucian immediately tilted his head at the young sales girl from the interior room. She was considered a newbie and was sent by the other girls to do a round check even when her shift ended a while ago. The girl who noticed the atmosphere, laced with Lucian's distress and her colleague's hostility, immediately approached him.

"I want to buy a car, but can I borrow a dollar from you?"

The sales girls nodded with a smile. She brought a dollar note and handed it to Lucian, who turned to the taxi driver.

"Sorry-" the old man frowned, snatched the money from Lucian, and then walked away. The other girls burst into another round of laughter.

"Can you believe this Anna of a newbie is paying attention to a man who can't even pay a cab man?" another sales girl ridiculed.

"Let her be. She is desperate to make her first sales, considering she's not qualified for the job," the sales girls giggle, making Lucina grit his teeth.

"What do you have in mind?" The girl inquired. Her smile was unfaded even with the insults her colleagues threw at her.

"Five minutes left!" Viris's voice remains again, making Lucian's heart skip a beat.

"Can I pay before you give me the tour?" Lucian asked, impatience lacing his tone.

The girl nodded her head, and Lucian handed her the card. The girl quickly went into the shop. She secretly prayed for the transaction to go through. She needed to make a sale since all her colleagues made reports against her because she was a student and a part-time worker and was considered not qualified for the job.

Meanwhile, Lucian was outside praying the transaction would not fail his first mission, which had a few seconds left.
