Ronan moved his hands down her arms, his glowing skin sliding against hers. Every place he touched, her bruises faded. Her cuts knit themselves back together without leaving a scar. He pressed his body heavily against hers, feeling the rapid beating of her heart matching the rhythm of his own.
Olivia arched her back, letting out a soft moan that was swallowed by the loud banging from above. She felt her clothes burning away, turning into soft white ash as the heat between them grew. She pulled at Ronan’s torn shirt, throwing it aside. She wanted nothing between them. She needed to feel the absolute truth of this magic.
Their bodies moved together in the dark, guided by a primal instinct older than the world itself. It was a desperate, urgent rhythm. Every breath they shared, every touch, every kiss forced the bond deeper into their souls.
"Yes," the ancient Voice whispered in Ronan’s mind, sounding deeply satisfied. "Yes. Claim your Chalice. Let the fire of your desire forge the chains of your divinity. Become whole."
Ronan buried his face in Olivia’s neck. He inhaled her scent, feeling the exact moment their souls locked together. It was like a heavy iron gate slamming shut. They were no longer two separate people. They were one single, burning entity.
He felt a massive surge of power. It was not just his strength anymore. He could feel Olivia’s fire. He could feel her anger, her bravery, her fierce will to live. He drew upon it, pulling her magical flames into his own body.
Suddenly, a bright, explosive mixture of light erupted from them.
The crypt was bathed in a blinding flash of gold and deep, burning orange. The air grew incredibly hot. The stone floor around them actually began to melt, turning into soft, glowing red slag.
Olivia threw her head back, her eyes snapping open. Her green eyes were no longer normal. They were glowing with a fierce, swirling mixture of orange fire and golden light. She felt invincible. She felt like she could burn the whole world down with a single thought.
At that exact moment, the heavy iron doors at the top of the stairs finally gave way.
CRASH!
The thick wooden beam snapped into a million splinters. The heavy iron hinges screamed as they were torn out of the solid stone walls. The two massive doors were blown inward, flying through the air and crashing down the stairs with deafening clangs.
A massive cloud of grey dust and debris rolled down the stairs, filling the dark crypt.
The loud, victorious roar of the Abyssal Troll shook the walls. It stomped down the stairs, its giant club dragging against the stone. Behind it, a dozen Scavengers poured in, hissing and clicking their teeth, hungry for the meat hiding in the dark.
The demons reached the bottom of the stairs, peering into the dusty gloom of the crypt.
They expected to find two terrified, broken humans hiding in a corner.
Instead, the dust slowly cleared, revealing a terrifying sight.
Ronan stood in the center of the room. He was no longer the broken man coughing up blood in the mud. He was not the desperate, burning vessel from a few minutes ago.
He stood tall, his bare chest perfectly smooth, completely healed, and glowing with deep, intricate golden tattoos that pulsed with the beating of his heart.
But it wasn't just golden light anymore.
Thanks to the Crimson Covenant, he had drawn upon Olivia’s magic. Ronan was completely wreathed in a terrifying, dark abyssal fire. Deep orange flames, outlined with blinding gold, danced wildly around his arms, his shoulders, and his legs. The heat coming off him was so intense that the Scavengers nearest to him instantly caught fire and turned to ash before they could even scream.
Behind him, Olivia slowly stood up. She was wrapped in a cloak of pure, solid fire that covered her like armor. She held her hand out, and a long, deadly sword made entirely of swirling, golden flames appeared in her grip. She looked like a goddess of war, her eyes burning with terrible, beautiful power.
The Abyssal Troll stopped moving. For the first time in its miserable, violent existence, the giant monster felt a cold shiver of pure fear run down its spine. It looked at the glowing man wrapped in abyssal fire. It took a slow step backward.
Ronan raised his head. His glowing golden eyes locked onto the giant monster. The panic and fear he had felt in the courtyard were completely gone, replaced by a cold, arrogant, god-like confidence.
He slowly raised his hands, curling his fingers into tight fists. The dark, golden fire around him flared up, reaching the ceiling of the crypt.
A slow, dark smirk spread across Ronan’s face.
"My turn," he whispered.
The words were spoken softly, but they carried the heavy, undeniable weight of a savage god. And then, he moved.

Olivia reached up and cupped his face with both hands. Her thumbs wiped away a smear of black ash from his cheek."Ronan," she said firmly. "Look around us. The world is full of real monsters. They destroyed our homes. They killed our families. They were going to eat us alive. You are not a monster. You are the only reason I am breathing right now."She leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. It was not the desperate, violent kiss of survival they had shared earlier. It was slow, tender, and deeply emotional. The moment their lips touched, the crypt lit up with a soft, pulsing golden glow. The connection between their souls sang with joy. The power was intoxicating. It made them feel invincible, like two gods sitting in the ruins of a broken world.Ronan pulled back slightly, resting his forehead against hers. "I promise you, Olivia. I will protect you. I will use this power to tear apart any nightmare that tries to hurt you.""I know you will," Olivia smiled, feeling completely

Thwack. The sound was wet and sharp. Before the thick grey dust in the crypt could even settle, a terrifying thing happened. The Scavenger demon at the front of the pack had opened its mouth to hiss. It spun through the air like a thrown rock, trailing a perfect circle of black blood.Smack.The demon’s head hit the solid stone wall of the crypt and bounced off. A second later, the monster's headless body finally realized it was dead. It collapsed to the cold floor with a heavy, wet thud. The rest of the demons froze. Ronan looked into her green eyes. He felt a deep sense of guilt, but also a desperate, undeniable need. "I need a Chalice. An anchor. A woman with magic in her blood.” The Voice said. “The condition of the power is absolute. My power awakens through intimacy. It is born from... from the bed. From a deep, physical, and emotional bond."Olivia stopped breathing for a second. The crypt grew very quiet, except for the loud, violent banging on the door above."You mean..." she started, her voice dropping to a whisper."I have to bind my soul to yours," Ronan said honestly, not looking away. "Flesh, blood, and soul. An ancient rite. If we share a deep, intimate connection, the golden fire will flow from me into you. It will reignite your dead magic. It will heal your wounds. And it will stabilize my body, letting me use the god-like strength without burning up."Olivia stared at him. She looked at his glowing chest, his beautiful, pained face. Then she looked toward the heavy iron doors.CR
