Before they could get up, Olivia leaped into the air. She threw a ball of pure, compressed fire from her left hand. It hit the ground between the two fallen monsters and exploded like a bomb, blowing them into tiny, burning pieces.
The crypt was completely painted in demon blood and ash.
Suddenly, a heavy, deafening roar shook the entire room.
The Abyssal Troll had finally had enough.
The giant monster pushed through the smoke. It was furious. It could not understand how two tiny humans were destroying its pack so easily. The Troll raised its giant stone club, holding it with both hands, and brought it down toward Olivia with all its massive strength.
'Ronan!' Olivia’s mind screamed.
Ronan was already moving.
He leaped across the room, leaving a trail of abyssal fire behind him. He threw himself right between Olivia and the falling stone club.
He did not try to catch it this time. Instead, he pulled his right arm back. His fist began to glow so brightly it looked like a miniature sun. He focused all his anger, all his new power, and all of Olivia’s burning magic into his knuckles.
He punched straight up into the falling club.
BOOM!
The collision sounded like a lightning strike. The giant stone club, thick as a tree trunk, completely exploded. It shattered into a thousand pieces of flying dust and sharp rocks.
The force of Ronan’s punch did not stop there. The shockwave traveled up the Troll’s thick arms. The monster’s giant hands bent backward with loud snaps. The Troll screamed in shock, stepping back and holding its broken wrists.
Ronan landed gracefully on his feet. He looked back at Olivia. Their eyes met. His golden eyes locked onto her green, fiery ones.
'Let's finish this ugly beast,' Ronan thought to her, a wicked smile on his face.
'Together,' Olivia answered, her heart beating wildly with excitement.
Ronan charged. The Troll swung its giant, broken arm down, trying to hit him away. Ronan simply slid under the wild swing. As he slid across the bloody floor, he reached up and grabbed the Troll’s thick knee.
His fingers dug into the grey, leathery skin. His golden fire burned into the monster’s flesh, melting the muscle. Ronan stood up sharply, lifting his arm with impossible strength.
He lifted the ten-foot-tall, five-thousand-pound monster completely off the ground.
The Troll kicked and thrashed in the air, roaring in absolute terror.
Ronan threw the massive beast backward. The Troll flew across the crypt and slammed heavily into the stone wall. The wall cracked in a spiderweb pattern, and ancient dust poured down from the ceiling.
Before the Troll could slide down to the floor, Olivia was there.
She ran forward, jumping onto the side of a stone tomb to push herself higher into the air. She raised her sword of fire with both hands. She channeled every drop of the wild, chaotic energy Ronan was giving her into the blade. The flames turned from bright orange to a blinding, pure white.
"Burn in hell!" Olivia screamed out loud.
She swung the sword down.
The blade cut cleanly through the thick, bony spikes on the Troll’s neck. It sliced through the thick muscle and the heavy spine without slowing down.
Thud.
The giant, ugly head of the Abyssal Troll hit the stone floor. It rolled twice and stopped. A second later, its massive, headless body slid down the cracked wall and collapsed in a heap of grey skin and black slime.
Silence suddenly fell over the dark crypt.
The battle was over.
There were no more monsters left. The room was empty, except for the bodies, the black blood, and the two glowing figures standing in the center.
Ronan stood still, his chest rising and falling slowly. His body was completely covered in dark demon blood, but the glowing tattoos on his skin burned it away, cleaning him. The wild, dark orange fire dancing around his shoulders began to calm down.
A few feet away, Olivia lowered her hands. The long, deadly sword of fire flickered and vanished into thin air. The solid armor of flames wrapping her body faded away, leaving her standing in the ragged, torn clothes she had worn before the fight.
The adrenaline suddenly dropped. The wild, violent energy that had fueled them began to drain out, leaving behind a heavy, profound exhaustion.
Olivia’s knees wobbled. She let out a long, shaking breath and began to fall backward.
Ronan moved instantly. He crossed the distance between them in a split second and caught her in his strong arms before she could hit the floor.
He gently lowered them both to the cold stone ground. Olivia rested her head against his bare, glowing chest. She was breathing heavily, her face covered in sweat and ash, but she had never looked more beautiful to him.
"Are you okay?" Ronan whispered. His deep voice was soft now, full of worry.
"I am fine," Olivia breathed, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist. "I am just... so tired. That was... that was incredible, Ronan. What was that?"
Ronan held her close, resting his chin on the top of her silver hair. "That was the power of the Seed. The power of the god."
As they sat there, holding each other tightly on the dirty floor, something magical happened.
When the fight ended, the bright golden light inside Ronan had started to dim. His skin had started to feel a little too hot again, a tiny reminder of the burning pain from before.
But the moment he pulled Olivia against his chest, the pain vanished completely.
The golden light surged back, but it was not violent or angry. It was warm, soft, and deeply comforting. It wrapped around them both like a protective blanket. Ronan could feel the energy flowing freely between their bodies. It was a perfect, endless circle. His raw, divine strength flowed into her, feeding her magic. Her cool, calming soul flowed back into him, anchoring his fire and keeping him safe.
They both realized the terrifying, beautiful reality of their bond at the exact same moment.
"It does not just linger," Olivia whispered, her green eyes wide with sudden understanding. She looked up at him. "The power... it responds to us. To this."
She gently ran her fingers over the smooth, glowing tattoos on his chest. As her skin touched his, the golden light flared up warmly, following the path of her fingers.
Ronan nodded slowly. The ancient Voice of the Seed spoke again in his mind, but this time, its tone was quiet and pleased.
'You understand now, little vessel. The Covenant is not a one-time spell. It is a living, breathing chain. Your power scales with your desire. It scales with your physical closeness. The closer you are to your Chalice, the stronger you both become. But remember... distance is the enemy of the flesh.'
"The Voice," Ronan explained quietly to Olivia. "It just told me the truth. We have to stay close. The power comes from our connection. If we drift apart, if the bond weakens... I lose control of the fire. And you lose your magic."
Olivia stared into his golden eyes. She felt a shiver run down her spine. It was not a shiver of fear, but of absolute awe.
"We are chained together," she said softly.
"Are you scared?" Ronan asked, his voice thick with guilt. "I forced this on you, Olivia. I was dying, and I pulled you into this madness. You are chained to a monster now."

Olivia reached up and cupped his face with both hands. Her thumbs wiped away a smear of black ash from his cheek."Ronan," she said firmly. "Look around us. The world is full of real monsters. They destroyed our homes. They killed our families. They were going to eat us alive. You are not a monster. You are the only reason I am breathing right now."She leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. It was not the desperate, violent kiss of survival they had shared earlier. It was slow, tender, and deeply emotional. The moment their lips touched, the crypt lit up with a soft, pulsing golden glow. The connection between their souls sang with joy. The power was intoxicating. It made them feel invincible, like two gods sitting in the ruins of a broken world.Ronan pulled back slightly, resting his forehead against hers. "I promise you, Olivia. I will protect you. I will use this power to tear apart any nightmare that tries to hurt you.""I know you will," Olivia smiled, feeling completely

Ronan moved his hands down her arms, his glowing skin sliding against hers. Every place he touched, her bruises faded. Her cuts knit themselves back together without leaving a scar. He pressed his body heavily against hers, feeling the rapid beating of her heart matching the rhythm of his own.Olivia arched her back, letting out a soft moan that was swallowed by the loud banging from above. She felt her clothes burning away, turning into soft white ash as the heat between them grew. She pulled at Ronan’s torn shirt, throwing it aside. She wanted nothing between them. Every breath they shared, every touch, every kiss forced the bond deeper into their souls."Yes," the ancient Voice whispered in Ronan’s mind, sounding deeply satisfied. "Yes. Claim your Chalice. Let the fire of your desire forge the chain
Chapter 6
Ronan looked into her green eyes. He felt a deep sense of guilt, but also a desperate, undeniable need. "I need a Chalice. An anchor. A woman with magic in her blood.” The Voice said. “The condition of the power is absolute. My power awakens through intimacy. It is born from... from the bed. From a deep, physical, and emotional bond."Olivia stopped breathing for a second. The crypt grew very quiet, except for the loud, violent banging on the door above."You mean..." she started, her voice dropping to a whisper."I have to bind my soul to yours," Ronan said honestly, not looking away. "Flesh, blood, and soul. An ancient rite. If we share a deep, intimate connection, the golden fire will flow from me into you. It will reignite your dead magic. It will heal your wounds. And it will stabilize my body, letting me use the god-like strength without burning up."Olivia stared at him. She looked at his glowing chest, his beautiful, pained face. Then she looked toward the heavy iron doors.CR

Even though his body was breaking apart, his physical strength was still god-like.He held her tight against his chest and ran.He darted around the broken statues and leaped over deep holes in the floor. The Troll swung its giant club at him, but Ronan was already gone, leaving only a trail of golden sparks in the air. The club smashed into the ground where Ronan had been standing a second ago.Ronan reached the back of the sanctuary. The heavy iron doors to the crypt were half-open, leading down into total darkness. He rushed inside, carrying Olivia down a long, circular flight of stone stairs. The air down here was cold and smelled of damp earth and old dust. It was completely silent, a sharp contrast to the screaming monsters above. When they reached the bottom of the stairs, they entered a large, circular room made of solid black stone.
