Jason stood silent for a second, the sting of his father’s hand still burning across his cheek, but the ache of humiliation far worse than any physical pain.

“I didn’t know he had that kind of information,” Jason muttered. His voice was hollow, lips trembling from shame and rage.

Alfred’s gaze was cold. “That’s exactly the problem. You underestimate people. You thought Luca Ashford was a stain to be wiped off the floor. Now you’ve made him a giant in front of the city’s elite. Do you have any idea what you’ve just done?”

Eunice stepped between them, her voice softer but firm. “This isn’t the end. We’ve survived worse, Alfred. We just need a new strategy.”

“No,” Alfred snapped. “We need to bury this boy before he gets stronger. He just declared war on this family. So now…” He paused and looked at Jason. “Now we fight back like Stewarts.”

Jason’s eyes slowly lifted, his father’s words igniting something in his chest, fury, vengeance, pride. “Then let me do it my way this time.”

The morning after Luca and Dorian’s reunion, the home was quiet, too quiet actually. The waves of the nearby coast crashed softly against the cliffs, a calmness that felt unnatural. Inside, the marble floors gleamed as sunlight poured in through stained-glass windows, coloring the silence with warmth. But something felt… off. Luca stared out the balcony with a cup of black coffee in hand, scanning the sea. His mind raced at the thought of Dorian’s warning about The Black Vale, it just wasn’t something he could shake off. “He’s already watching us,” Dorian had said last night. And now… Luca could feel it. ***** Across the estate, Amelia walked the garden path, her fingers grazing the flowers, trying to enjoy a moment of peace. But her eyes kept flickering to the trees, the guards stationed discreetly in the distance gave her comfort, but not clarity. A soft click behind her made her spin. But there was nothing. Just wind rustling the ivy. “Pull yourself together,” she

  • CHAPTER 104

Back in the city, everywhere including the media was bustling with different topics all pointing to Jason Stewart rather than who he actually wanted trending. The story Jason leaked had just gone public, thanks to his bribed media agents. But what he didn’t expect… was the counter-leak. News outlets received digital proof of forged records. Official counter-statements from international agencies. Even audio files of Jason attempting to coerce journalists into bending the truth. The scandal didn’t touch Luca. It demolished the Stewarts. Within hours: Stewart Foundation stock dropped 60%. Interpol publicly denied all claims made by Jason. Alfred Stewart was summoned for questioning by the federal bureau over Jason’s manipulation and fraudulent activity. The final blow? Well it was when Luca made a viral statement and released it to the media. “Legacy is not inherited, it is built. My father built his in the shadows, so I could walk in the light. The Stewarts tried to rewri

  • CHAPTER 103

Luca had been silent thinking of how his father was doing. Luca sat in his study, the envelope from Jason lying open on the desk. The evidence, if any of it was true painted a troubling picture of Dorian Ashford. Foreign dealings, secret meetings, even accounts connected to weapon shipments from years ago. Amelia stood by the window, arms crossed. Her expression was unreadable, but her eyes never left Luca. “He’s trying to discredit you by framing your father,” she said quietly. “If this goes public, it’ll taint everything you’ve built.” Luca didn’t respond right away. He just tapped a finger against the table, deep in thought. “They always thought my father vanished in disgrace,” he muttered. “What if he never did? What if he’s been fighting in the shadows this whole time… without telling me?” Amelia turned to him. “You don’t believe the documents, do you?” “I don’t know what to believe anymore,” Luca admitted. “But if Jason thinks I’ll fall apart because of this… he’s for

  • CHAPTER 101

There was a gala, a night for all of the elites and Titans in the entire city that night. Jason wanted to make sure that Luca's reputation was ruined here so that no one in that room would think of partnering with him in the nearest future after he was done with him. The ballroom of the Grand Elysian Hotel glowed with crystal chandeliers, silk gowns, and billion-dollar conversations. It was the Event of the season whereby business moguls, foreign diplomats, social elites. The entire Thornton family was in attendance, including Amelia, looking radiant yet tense in an asymmetrical purple gown like a princess. Jason was there too, smirking. He held a glass of champagne, watching the room like a wolf before a kill. “Any moment now,” he whispered to himself. Then the crowd parted and Luca Ashford walked in well dressed, surprising everyone present even Amelia. Luca's tailored black suit was glistening and also his steel-cold presence brought fear to others. Everyone turned, mu

  • CHAPTER 100

Jason sat alone in his car, the engine running, but he had no conviction to even drive, his emotions and ego were bruised by Amelia and he just couldn't take it or deal with it. His hands trembled slightly, his knuckles had turned white around the steering wheel. Amelia's words echoed in his mind like a war drum. “I never loved you. And I never will.” He slammed his palm against the steering wheel with a shout, his face twisted with rage. “No. No, this isn't how it ends.” He took a deep breath and pulled out his phone, he needed to do something about this whole thing. If he had called his father, he would have told him to let go and find someone better and he wasn't about to lose Amelia Thornton to a low mysterious individual. He knew it was time to change strategy from the conversation he had earlier, he knew that he had lost Amelia, but he wouldn't sit idle. He called the one person he always swore he’d never deal with. The man his father warned him about. A figure wh
