Chapter 16 - CORONATION OF A NEW KING

Two months after King Whune and Queen Doris’s assassination, Prince Wgheneo the step-brother to Prince Selem, the rightful heir to the throne according to the custom and tradition of Khah's Kingdom. Prince Wgheneo summoned the entire royal family and elders and informed them that he wants a new king to be coroneted to rule and overseer the affairs of the kingdom as it is not good for the kingdom to continue without a king sitting on her throne.

The elders looked into the matter and saw reasons while Prince Wgheneo was right in his decision of coronating a new king to rule over Khah’s Kingdom and they accepted. They decided to crown him the next king of Khah’s Kingdom as the only son of King Whune's first wife, but his brother refused insisting that he won't let his junior rule over him, they argued Prince Selem and told him that the custom and tradition bidding on the people Khah’s Kingdom state’s that the first son of the king’s first wife will be the rightful heir to the throne after the king is dead whether he has any other elder brother from the other wives of the king, he still has to right to become king except he denounce himself from his right and he must not be under duress when such declaration will be made.

Queen Hermosa insisted that the custom and tradition be changed, that how can a younger brother and small Prince Wgheneo rule over his own senior brother Prince Selem, she emphasized on the fact that Prince Selem came out in the time of delivering hours before Prince Wgheneo, so Prince Selem will be crowned king of Khah’s Kingdom and not Prince Wgheneo.

The argument continued as uncle Hei-Ran supported Queen Hermosa and Prince Selem while the elders and Queen Hermosa’s father insisted that Prince Wgheneo is the rightful heir to the throne of Khah’s Kingdom.

The argument got so severe that Prince Wgheneo after several deliberation, Prince decided to denounce his right as the heir to the throne and next king of Khah’s Kingdom and let his senior brother Prince Selem rule as kingship is not what he will like to bring enmity between them, so by his announcement he gave his right of kingship to his brother Prince Selem but unknown to him, his brother Prince Selem had been planning for this day not only for the day but for his new order that he wants to implement after being coroneted king of Khah’s Kingdom with his mother’s evil agenda to clear off her sisters children.

The elders, royal family and relatives decided to crown Prince Selem King of Khah’s Kingdom as the rightful heir Prince Wgheneo has denounce his right of kingship and they fixed a date for Prince Selem’s coronation.

The feast and coronation arrangements were made which was fixed on the day of the appearing of the blue moon because the coronation would not be possible or successful without the appearing of the blue moon, reasons being that the purple crystal can only be used on the appearing of a blue moon and without that the purple crystal has no power and would be useless to the possessor.

The day of the coronation came as proposed, as everyone was drinking, laughing, dancing and chatting with each other, Uncle Hei-Ran stood up and rang the royal bell just to draw the attention of everyone in the premises and get them to stop whatsoever they were doing before now and pay attention to what he had to say before the coronation process starts.

I really want to appreciate everyone of you for making out time to come and feast with the royal family in this specially occasion of a new king coronation.

We all know about the incident and misfortune that befell our humble King Whune and his beautiful wife Queen Doris on their way to Spain for a royal meeting and this is already two months that we have mourned their death and departure.

We the elders and royal relatives to King Whune and his wife Queen Doris has decided as we all know to coronate a new king today, because Khah’s Kingdom is a rich and highly respected kingdom in the whole eastern region of the earth and whatsoever we do will be set as an example to the other neighboring kingdoms because they are watching us closely, and how we handle things.

So with the approval of the elders and royal family, we have decided on this occasion to do three things which are as follows. To make the crown prince Selem our next king, as he is the eldest son of late King Whune, the rightful heir to the throne of Khah’s Kingdom and the holder of one of the Purple Royal Crystal which will be used for his coronation at the appearing of the blue moon tonight. As we all know, by the custom and tradition of Khah’s Kingdom, Prince Wgheneo is supposed to be the rightful heir and next king of Khah’s Kingdom and the same custom and tradition of our great kingdom states that the rightful heir to the throne can only forfeit his right to the throne by denouncing his right by himself and must not be under duress to do so which is the grounds we are standing on to make Prince Selem the next king of Khah’s Kingdom as Prince Wgheneo has denounced his right to become the next king of Khah’s Kingdom not under duress but willfully and is here present tonight as a proof of his approval of the coronation party of Prince Selem tonight.

The next reason for this great feast tonight is for the beautiful damsels of Khah’s Kingdom to dance round the crown prince Selem who will soon be the new king of Khah’s Kingdom and he will chose for himself a befitting damsel who will become his wife and as our culture and tradition demands, he has so many options that includes marrying the crown princess Clara his step-sister, more than one wife and marrying outside his tribe if he so deem fit.
