Chapter 10

Adam suddenly jerked and snapped out of his unconsciousness. He found himself now lying on a long table made of ice crystal. Adam's breath was still erratic due to shock, as he tried to remember what had happened before he lost consciousness.

"Well, welcome to the gray valley, you insolent brat."

Adam's eyes immediately shifted towards the presence of four adults with cold and fierce expressions. In an instant, Adam, who was lying down, sat up on the long table and looked around. Only then did he realize that he was now in the middle of a forest with a sky filled with bright and beautiful stars.

"A weakling like you sent by Alatar? Hah, what do you want, fool? In an instant, I could turn you into dust that blends with the air!" A man with shoulder-length white hair, light gray eyes, and pale white skin flicked his hand towards Adam, and a gust of wind hit his face, causing Adam to avert his gaze.

"Be calm, Bloise." A blonde-haired woman with red eyes calmed the man named Bloise. "What's your name?"

Adam then recalled the words of the old man, Gonie, who appeared in his dream. He shifted his gaze back to the four individuals and answered firmly, "I'm Adam, I was sent by Gonie. Gonie told me to come and meet you here."

The four individuals seemed startled and exchanged glances with each other. The woman who had made Adam faint approached him and held his face, saying, "Are you not lying? How do you know Gonie? Don't play games with us, I could make your condition far more horrifying than what you just experienced!"

"I'm not lying, why would I lie? I was indeed sent by Alatar, but before I accepted Alatar's offer, Gonie had already told me to meet you here. Moreover, I also obtained four elements. Alatar said I'm just like him."

"This can't be true, don't tell me he's the man mentioned in the destiny book as Gonie said!" Bloise raised his hand towards the sky, and in an instant, the star-filled sky turned yellow. Droplets of red-colored water fell right where Bloise stood, and he opened his mouth, allowing the water to enter.

After a few drops, the sky returned to its starry night appearance. Bloise looked at the other three individuals and said, "What he said is true, this water tastes sweet as it enters my body."

"Tell me, Adam! How did you acquire all of this! What have you done to Gonie, and where do you come from!" The woman who had made Adam faint appeared furious.

"I come from Earth, I don't understand anything about the conditions of this magical world. Gonie is an old man who keeps appearing in my dreams, creating the same dream and suddenly appearing in my car when I was about to go home from the office. His presence surprised me so much that I lost control and had an accident. When I regained consciousness, I was already here, in the house of one... I don't know what to call it, the wizard, I guess, right? And I was picked up by one of Alazar's members to learn about my powers, and the result is that I obtained four elements."

"Wow, I really didn't expect him to have come already. The man written in the book is truly here before us. Could this be a sign that Greash is undergoing a revival?" Bloise said.

One of the men among them, with long brown hair, who had been silent until now, took a step forward towards Adam and said, "Whatever it is, we must accept Adam's arrival. He was instructed by Gonie, and I believe Gonie's decision is not in contradiction with what we have firmly held onto all this time."

Adam looked at them one by one, the fierce expressions that were displayed earlier were starting to fade, even the woman who attacked him when he arrived at the ashen valley now had a face filled with regret.

"I think it's time for us to introduce ourselves to Adam, it's enough that we've held onto our resentment towards him who has been given guidance by Gonie. Adam, I'm Bloise, I am a water mage."

In turn with Bloise, now the woman who had knocked Adam down spoke. "Alcaine, fire mage, I apologize if I made you fall and faint, I just wanted to give a warning that whoever you are sent by Alatar, you won't be able to make us submit. That's it, I hope Gonie understands my actions."

Adam's gaze now shifted to the most beautiful and radiant woman, a blonde-haired woman with red eyes whose appearance stood out among the other three. "I'm Cassandra, water mage."

Adam nodded, he was slightly captivated by Cassandra's face, even though Cassandra only spoke a brief sentence, he continued to pay attention.

"And I'm Fredo, the leader of the four magus operatives, I'm an earth mage. We have been trapped here for hundreds of years, you might wonder why we don't look old, because the gray valley has its own power. Our appearances return to when we were young, even though we are all over three hundred years old." Fredo smiled warmly, his light brown eyes shining.

"Wow, I never expected it at all, three hundred years? I thought I could only find people who were hundreds of years old in movies or fiction stories. By the way, thank you for listening to my explanation and making me feel a little safer. At first, I was quite worried about the difficulty of being here and dying. I just want to leave this world and return to Earth, so I hope you can help me fulfill what Gonie wants."

"Yes, of course. We also want to leave this valley, Adam. Our waiting after hundreds of years has finally come, but before that, I think you should rest first, and we will talk about your powers tomorrow." Bloise approached Adam and embraced his shoulders to help him down from the crystal ice table.

Fredo also joined in embracing Adam, but from between his fingers, a brown light emanated, enveloping Adam's body and making him feel much better and refreshed.
