Thenma's head throbbed with pain as the wine glass shattered against the skin. His vision blurred, and blood trickled down his face, but anger—fueled by betrayal—burned hotter than any pain.

"How could you do this to me, Pene?" Thenma's voice cracked, filled with rage and disbelief. He tried to move toward Penelope, his trembling hands tried to reaching out.

Penelope, her face suddenly pale, took a small step back. For the first time, she looked afraid of the loser she used to look down at. "What the...? Stay away from me!" she said, her voice a little tremble.

Her voice wavered as she saw the fury in Thenma's eyes. It wasn't the weak Thenma she had always known. It was as if she had woken something dark inside him, a sleeping monster that had now surfaced.

Before Thenma could get any closer, Evan shoved him hard, sending him stumbling backward. "Where do you think you're going, loser?" Evan smirked as Thenma crumpled to the floor. "You really think you can have her? She's mine!"

Thenma's eyes never left Penelope. "I won't let you take her from me! Leave me and her alone!"

Evan's laughter was cruel. "She was never yours to begin with."

Thenma got to his feet again, staggering but unwilling to back down. Evan's face twisted in annoyance. "Why won't you stay down?" He threw a heavy punch into Thenma's stomach, making him double over in pain. "That's where your position is supposed to be, scumbag!"

Thenma wheezed, clutching his stomach, but he refused to give up.

Evan's fists rained down on him, striking his face, his ribs, each hit making Thenma's body weaker. "Just... stay... down!" Evan roared, but the more Thenma resisted, the more frustrated he became.

The noise drew Kato and Julian over from the VIP section. "What's going on here?" Kato grinned as he saw Thenma trying to get up again. "Looks like the punching bag is still moving."

Julian joined in with a sneer. "Guess we'll have to fix that." They really joined Evan to punched and kicked Thenma, like he was not a human.

Thenma's body was battered from their relentless attacks, but what hurt more was the look on Penelope's face—she watched from the bed, her expression filled with satisfaction. She was enjoying this.

Penelope finally stepped off the bed and crouched beside Thenma, who was now lying on the floor, bloodied and broken. She smirked, looking down at him with disgust.

"You're so pathetic, Thenma. Did you really think I would want someone like you? You're nothing. An orphan with no money, no status, no future."

Thenma's vision blurred, but her words cut deeper than any physical wound.

"What did I do wrong to you, Pene? I love you truly... why?"

"Ugh, stop using that fucking word for us. I'm tired of pretending to love you," Penelope sneered. "I only stuck around for a bet. But now? I don't need you anymore." She stood up, brushing off her tight dress as if her mere presence was filth. "I'm done with you."

She turned to leave, but before she could take another step, the door slammed open. Penelope barely had time to react before a fist collided with her face, sending her crashing back into the room.

"Don't you dare!" Adeline, Thenma's younger sister, stormed into the room, her eyes blazing with fury. Penelope whimpered, holding her bleeding nose, as Adeline loomed over her.

"Blood??? ARGH, HOW DARE YOU LITTLE SLUT!" Penelope screamed in panic, afraid that her beautiful face would be scratched. But Adeline didn't care and reaching out for Penelope.

"Adeline, no!" Thenma groaned from the floor, his voice barely a whisper. He had told her to stay away, that this wasn't a place for her. But now, seeing her here, filled with rage on his behalf, all he could feel was shame.

"I warned you, Thenma!" Adeline shouted, ignoring him. "I knew she would do this to you!" Her voice cracked with anger and grief. "But you didn't listen. You always try to protect her, but look at what she has done to you! Look what these rats have done to you!"

Adeline's attention snapped back to Penelope, her fists clenched. "You... lemme finish you first, you ugly bitch."

She moved toward Penelope, ready to strike again, but Evan stepped in, pushing her back. "Hey, what do you think you're doing, little girl?"

"Stay out of this," Adeline spat, her fists raised. "This is between me and her."

Julian and Kato quickly flanked Evan, blocking Adeline's path. "Now, now," Kato chuckled. "This is getting interesting."

Evan grinned maliciously. "Why are you so angry, Adeline? You don't want to hear any explanation? Ah, is this because you love your brother so much?"

Kato put his arms around Julian's neck casually, and said, "Or is this because you love Thenma?" His voice dripped with mockery. "What do you two do when you're alone? Does Thenma have a taste of his little sister, huh?"

Adeline's face twisted in horror. "Watch your mouth, you dirty shell!"

"Oops, my bad." Kato and Julian laughed about Adeline's warning, they didn't take that seriously as Evan walked towards Adeline.

"Then why don't you prove it to us?" Evan's eyes gleamed as he moved closer to her. "Are you still a virgin? Maybe we should do a little check on ya."

Adeline slapped Evan, hard. "I said to watch your mouth, pervert trash!"

The room fell silent for a second. Then Evan's expression darkened with fury. "You bitch!" He grabbed Adeline by the hair, yanking her backward before throwing her into a glass table with brutal force. The glass shattered as she hit it, her body crumpling to the floor.

"ADELINE!" Thenma screamed, struggling to get up, but Kato and Julian held him down, laughing as they watched the scene unfold.

Evan loomed over the semi-conscious Adeline like a predator over its prey. "You shouldn't have done that," he growled, reaching down to grab her again.

"NO!" Thenma thrashed wildly, desperate to free himself, but every attempt was met with a punch, a kick, more pain. Kato and Julian enjoyed the show, raining blows on him until his strength was nearly gone.

Through swollen eyes and blurred vision, Thenma could barely see how Evan harassing Adeline's body. She wasn't moving, but the tears running down her face showed she was still conscious. Still in pain. Still suffering.

Penelope watched from a distance, her phone in hand, recording the whole thing with a satisfied smirk.

Thenma's heart shattered. He had failed to protect her. His sister, his precious Adeline, was lying broken because he was too weak.

"Please... stop..." he whimpered, begging, his voice barely audible beneath the pounding music. His legs were pinned under shattered glass, and Kato stepped on them, grinding his heel into the wound.

"AAAARRGHH!!!"

A scream tore from Thenma's throat as fresh pain exploded through his body. But all he could think about was Adeline.

"How she taste? Is it good?" Julian asked, didn't feel sorry when they were about to leave the room.

"Will be 100 times better if I could hear she moans under me, ha ha."

"Fuck. I should try her at perfect time like what you said, when she's conscious," Kato added, walked at the back.

Meanwhile Thenma crawled toward her, dragging his mangled body across the floor. Blood seen beneath him, his vision fading in and out. He reached her side, his shaking hand brushing Adeline's tear—streaked face.

"Adeline..." he sobbed, his voice cracking with pain and regret. "I'm so sorry..."

Adeline's lips trembled, but no words came out. She was too weak to speak, but her tears said everything.

Thenma wept, his cries drowned by the deafening music. He cursed his weakness, his failure. Since losing their mother, their only protector, life had been a very complicated thing to do. Thenma did his best, bowing down to money and throwing his self-respect away, just so Adeline could live comfortably and safely.

But it all were in vains, they ruined all of Thenma's hardwork. They showed Thenma that no matter how much you wanted to survive, it still meant nothing if you didn't have money. Was it true that money was everything?

If that so, then Thenma would wish for a lot of money, but what he wanted the most right now was the only thing; revenge.

As his consciousness began to fade, a voice—cold and mechanical—echoed in his mind, calling his state with a strange notification.

Neon lights danced over the glossy liquor bottles behind the bar, but none of it mattered. He tilted his head and motioned to the bartender with two fingers. "Another one," Thenma mumbled, slurring slightly. The bartender raised an eyebrow but silently refilled his glass. Thenma swirled the amber liquid, watching it slosh against the sides. “Cheers,” he muttered under his breath before downing the shot in one go.
