The room went quiet. Roland suddenly felt his body much more calmer throughout Kael's last touch. He slowly got to his feet and placed a hand on Kael's shoulder."I know how you feel. The rage, the anger and of course the sorrow. But you are better than they are, Kael. You are a god among men." "A god with lots of noise inside his head. Do you know I hear their voices. Their scream of pains and here you are telling me I am a god!" Kael's eyes squeezed in anger. "I know. There is nothing I can say that will justify what we did. But everything we did was for the country. It was for the good of mankind." Roland said again. "Why don't you start by giving me the names that I want. I need names of those who killed my men and those who think they are untouchable." Kael looked at him. "I will give that to you in due time but first, you need to work for me." Roland replied. The room went dead silent. Here was a man who was begging not too long ago but now he was trying to bargain again.

Kael stared at the old man kneeling before him. For a second, nobody breathed. Not Veronica. Not Carlos. Not even Dennis who stood beside the door with one hand on the handle, waiting for Kael’s command. The mighty Roland Verlic—the man who once controlled generals, politicians, scientists and entire military divisions—was now kneeling on the cold floor like a broken sinner begging for mercy. Veronica’s lips trembled. “Father…” she whispered weakly. But Roland ignored her. His eyes never left Kael’s face. “Please,” he said again. “Take my wealth. Take my empire. Take my life if you must. But not my daughter.” Kael’s expression remained unreadable. “You speak as though you care about innocent lives now.” Roland lowered his head. “I deserve that.” “You deserve worse.” Kael’s voice became colder. “Do you know what your men did to Sergeant Leon?” The room remained silent. Kael slowly stepped forward. “They peeled the skin off his back while he was still alive.” Veronica gasped.

"What are you doing, Mr Roland?" Carlos looked at his face. Ronald didn't answer any of them. He simply bowed in front of Kael who was trying to recover from his healing sessions. Kael shut his eyes, his hand slowly placed on the dead man's chest. Veronica stared at him wondering if he indeed had the power to wake her dead father up. Her gaze slowly went to his face and then to his lips. It was breath taking. Kael was really handsome that Veronica didn't understand why Seraphina let go of him in the first place. For a brief moment, nothing happend. She looked at her dying father. Nothing. No body movements. His hands were not moving and his body laid still. His face was paled and whitish. Veronica looked at Kael again. His forehead was brooding and he was beginning to sweat. Veronica went back to her seat. She slowly crossed her legs and looked at the time. She knew it was not going to easy bringing the dead back to life but then she had all the time to wait. The door opened and Carlos walked in with Dennis right behind him.
