chapter one
Kael sat still, his gaze fixed on the beautiful woman in front of him. He shut his eyes mumbling some words to himself. Kael was supposed to be at Lochart's mansion by now. He was supposed to be meeting his supposed fiance after getting into New Orleans the other night. He coughed slightly and Seraphina turned, changing her nonchalant posture on the bed. The sun filtered through the blind, casting a heat on her face. She snapped her eyes open suddenly trying to guess where she was. Her eyes scanned the room before they finally landed on Kael. " Who are you?" she asked, her eyebrows arched. " I saved you. Don't you remember?" Kael said, his gaze fixed on her. Instead, Seraphina looked under the sheets and her face went pale. " Did we..." she gulped the thick saliva at the back of her throat before she finished her words. " Did we have sex?" she asked. Kael was short of words. He simply stared at the bizarre woman in front of him and couldn't believe i

" You are the most arrogant and most stupid man I have ever come in contact with. I should have seen this coming." Seraphina said angrily. Kael said nothing but simply laughed. " You honestly think I would stoop so low to sleep with someone like you?" he asked The room went quiet at his word. Kael's words even made Seraphina more pissed. " You can talk all you want but you would never be above me. You are some gigolo who is looking for someone to rip off. It is only a matter of time before you come asking for some cash." Kael laughed. This time it was humourless. " If only you knew who I really am." he said with a stern gaze. " I don't care who you are, I don't care where you are from! GET OUT!" Seraphina barked, pointing her hands towards the door. " But this is my room. I got this place." Kael said gently. "Did I stutter? Or did you not hear me?! Get the fuck out of here!" she yelled again "Alright... alright. You don't need to yell." Kael said a b

Kael stepped out of the black Ferrari and looked up at the towering estate before him. The mansion stood like a fortress of wealth and arrogance, its polished gates stretching high into the air while armed guards patrolled both sides. Marble lions rested beside the entrance, and rows of imported flowers lined the driveway in perfect symmetry. He exhaled slowly. So much for a quiet life. When his grandfather told him he had arranged a marriage for him in New Orleans, Kael had imagined something modest. A simple woman. A peaceful home. Not this. Not a palace. He ran a hand through his hair and adjusted the sleeve of his plain shirt. “Maybe I should turn around now,” he muttered. One of the guards stepped forward.“Mr. Kael?” Kael nodded. “That’s me.” “The Master has been expecting you. Please come inside.” Kael had barely taken two steps when the sharp blast of a horn split through the air. The guards immediately stiffened. A silver Acura Benz sped toward the gate like a bullet

“How do you know about that?” Kael asked, his gaze fixed on the man before him. The playful calm smile he had on his face was slowly replaced with a more serious look. Arthur Viremont merely smiled and tapped his golden cane against the marble floor. “I know more than either of you think.” Seraphina looked like she was seconds away from exploding. “This is madness!” she shouted. “Grandfather, have you lost your mind? You cannot force me to marry... this man!” Her hand shot toward Kael like he was something filthy. Kael’s jaw tightened. “This man has a name,” he said coldly. “Oh please,” Seraphina snapped. “You should be grateful you’re even standing here. A man of your calibre is below my standard!" Kael laughed once. “Below? Grateful? Trust me, if I knew this was the woman I was sent to meet, I would have turned the car around.” Seraphina gasped. “You insolent—” “Enough!” Arthur’s voice thundered across the courtyard. Even the guards stiffened. For a moment,

They all stared at Kael in astonishment the way he took down the men that just burst into the mansion. Arthur simply smiled with a satisfactory look on his face. Almost like he knew what he signed up for. " Jesus Christ!" Vivian shouted, her gaze darting back to the old man. " Is this who you want to marry my daughter off to? A butcher!" Her voice echoed through the large estate. " As long as I am alive, you are going to do exactly what I want!" Arthur barked, stamping his cane to the ground. Marcus and Leo stared at Kael who was just getting up from the floor. His clothes were torn and he was bleeding. " Don't tell me this thing here is going to marry, Seraphina!" Leo said with a smirk plastered on his face. " Do you even know what he has done, grandfather?" Marcus said, turning back to look at Arthur. " Who are those men?" Kael stumbled a bit, trying to stabilise himself. Arthur walked forward, his gaze slowly going through Kael's body. " I am sorry you have to fa

" You may now kiss the bride." the clergy said staring at Kael. But instead, Seraphina simply walked out of the podium leaving Kael all by himself. " It seems like we are done here." the man said staring at Kael's face. " Are you alright, son?" he asked again Kael simply nodded. Arthur walked slowly towards them and shook hands with the clergy. " Thank you, Madison." " I am glad to be of help, Arthur." he replied. Madison looked at Kael again, " You should take care of him. Seems like he is in pain." Arthur stared at Kael who was lost in thought and nodded. " Are you alright, son?" he asked " Why me?" Kael asked. " Your daughter seems to hate me." Arthur laughed heartedly. " You are going to grow on each other very soon. I am happy to have you in my family, Kael. I can't wait to brag to the whole world who my granddaughter got married to. Come!" Kael let out a long sigh as he watched the old man walk down the isle. He stared back at Madison who can't seems to under

" Get up!" Seraphina's loud noise woke Kael up from a deep slumber. Kael slowly squeezed himself up from the little make shift bed he had slept on the previous night. Seraphina has made sure that he didn't sleep on the same bed with her. " Why are we getting up so early?" Kael asked with a deep frown on his face. " My grandfather said we should show you around. Or were you deaf yesterday?" Seraphina asked Kale said nothing but simply got up. " Give me a minute. I have to get ready." Seraphina laughed. "Give you a minute, please. You are not thinking of parading yourself as my husband are you?" Kael's eyebrows arched. " Then why am I going with you?" Seraphina walked forward to stare into his face but then, her gaze caught his body. They were as fresh as a new born baby with no mark on them. Impossible. Her eyes screamed but she quickly masked it with sharp words. "You are going because my friend and I need a servant. Someone who can carry our loads and

"Wow! That is the highest score we have seen in a long time! Bull eyes again!" The commentator said in a loud voice as the ladies in the building shouted again. In front of them was a man with an athletic build. The man stood beneath the bright arena lights like he owned them, broad shoulders wrapped in a fitted black tactical shirt that clung to every hard line of his chest and arms. His sleeves were rolled just enough to reveal strong forearms veined with tension as he gripped the gun with calm precision. A sharp jawline, lightly shadowed with stubble, gave him a dangerously handsome edge, while his dark hair fell in effortless waves across his forehead. Every breath carried confidence. When he lowered the gun after another perfect shot, a slow smirk curved his lips, and the sound of screaming women nearly drowned out the commentator. He wasn’t just attractive. He was the kind of man fantasies were built around. " Another bullseye for Mr Joe Linton!" The commentat

Kael looked through the scope. The room held its breath. His finger tightened on the trigger. Bang! The shot sound echoed through the shooting ground like lightning. For one suspended second, nobody moved, nobody blinked. Nobody even breathed. Then every eye snapped toward the giant monitor hanging above the shooting lanes. The digital screen flickered once. Twice. Then the result appeared. 0.0 millimeters from dead center. A perfect hit. The hall erupted into absolute chaos. The people screamed, gasped while shouted curses. Drinks crashing to the floor. The commentator nearly fell off his platform. “UNBELIEVABLE! IMPOSSIBLE! A PERFECT CENTER SHOT!” Even the technicians were staring at the screen like they had seen the impossible. Joe stood frozen with his rifle still in hand. His face had gone pale like he had seen nothing like what was right in front of him. Marcus rose so fast he knocked over the table in front of him. “That has to be fake!” Le

The moment Justin saw the look in Kael's eyes after he dropped from the SUV van meant alot. The look that says, " What the fuck are you doing?" Yes! That look. Justin had been trying to keep up with every routine. His eyes went to Seraphina and her two brothers in anger. He still didn't understand why a man like Kael would want to stoop so low to bow to a lady like Seraphina. Kael was not only the popular god hand but was a man with a nice face and well built body. Most women would be honored to have him. Kael said nothing but simply walked past Justin like he didn't know him dragging the bags he was carrying. One of the men rushed towards Kael the moment a bag dropped and helped pick it up."What are you doing?" Seraphina said in anger. The guard stood stiffened by her insolent behavior, but the look on Kael's face made him stand down. "He is my servant! No one gets to assist him. He does everything I want him to do. Is that clear?!" Justin nodded. He walked backward to
