Emily lifted her head the moment Denver walked into the room and poured a bucket of water on her. Lucas took Emily to his secret house by the river shore. His grandfather had told him that he would take full ownership of the house the minute he gets married to Ann. The spies he kept on Lucas turned out to be his savior because they informed him the minute the caught sight of Lucas heading towards a location by the sea.

He drew in a deep breath and wiped a single tear off his eyes as he looked as his grandfather again. “And what did you say happened?” His grandfather asked again, with a cold stare that sent cold shivers down Lucas eyes. He gulped. He was certain that his grandfather already knew every details about what happened but only wanted to hear it off his lips. “I’m so sorry, grandpa…”, Lucas started, still nursing the pain of Emily’s death that happened right before his eyes.
