Promising to deal with him!

"Everything with Mr Peter has been settled. I'm sorry it was chaotic dealing with him," Mr Smith apologized to Liam.

"I don't want your apology. I know it would happen this way," Liam said trying to force a smile but he was burning with rage.

He wished he was able to deal with Peter this way sooner, then he wouldn't have gone through the hell he saw in the hands of him and his mother.

"Take me to any top restaurant around. I'm famished," Liam said to his driver.

"Yes sir," The driver replied and started heading towards the car.

"Should I join you," Mr Smith asked.

"Of course," Liam replied.

He started heading to the car to meet his driver. Mr Smith ran after him.

They got in and his driver drove out of the company's premises.

"I found five top restaurants around on G****e Maps. Which will you love to go," Mr Smith asked, showing Liam the restaurants he found on the map.

"The first one," Liam replied and handed the tablet back to Mr Smith.

"Let's head a bit towards town," Mr Smith said to the driver. He obeyed and took a route heading towards town.

They got to the restaurant and as Liam expected, it wasn't disappointing.

They got in and sat down. A waiter rushed forward to meet them. He bowed and served them the menu.

"Mr. Smith pointed out the meals they would love to have and requested wine while they awaited the meal.

The waiter bowed and left to do as he was asked.

"How do you see the restaurant? Is it what you wanted?" Mr Smith asked Liam.

"Yes, Mr Smith. I think their meals are top-notch from the number of people I'm seeing here," Liam said, looking around.

"Yes, it is. You made a great choice," Mr. Smith replied with a smile.

"My eyes couldn't pass the number of amazing reviews it has. That's why I chose to check it out," Liam said, his face lit up with a smile.

The waiter returned with the meals, he apologized for not serving them the wine first as they requested. Liam told him it was fine and prepared to dig into the meals.

He was halfway through his meal when someone appeared before him.

"I cannot believe it is you, Liam. I have been watching you, you looked so different which got me confused all along until I decided to come closer and my instinct wasn't wrong," a woman's voice rang in Liam's ear.

He looked up and saw his ex-mother-in-law standing in front of him looking richly dressed as usual.

"What are you doing here?" She questioned but he ignored her and concentrated on his meal.

"Are you deaf you good for nothing," Alice yelled, angered by his behavior.

How could he ignore her when he was meant to beg on his legs as he used to?

Mr Smith wanted to do something but Liam signaled him to relax and ignore her.

"You have come here to steal while dressed like a rich man in the clothes you either stole or borrowed huh," she said and looked towards the restaurant's receptionist.

"There is a thief in here. What are you doing? Order the security to throw him out already," Alice barked at the receptionist but she was ignored.

"What have you said to them? Do you even have money to pay for the food you are eating?" Alice asked Liam.

"Are you the one who brought him here, are you the one paying for his food?" Alice asked Mr Smith but he ignored her

"Enough! Can you leave," Liam said and looked up at her.

He dropped his cutlery and cleaned his mouth. His eyes burned in anger.

"Did you just ask me to leave? How dare you? Who are you? What do you think you are? You are already feeling this way with a stranger volunteering to buy you food in this top restaurant, how will you behave when you finally manage to get something done, you wretch," She fumed and slapped him hard across the face.

Mr Smith stood up, unable to take it but Liam stopped him before he could do anything.

She tried slapping him again but he caught her hand.

"If you try slapping me the second time, I will put you in the same place I put Peter, your useless son in law!” Liam warned in a cold voice.

"What have you done to Peter? What did you do?" Alice asked angrily.

She hesitantly put a call across Peter and asked him if he was alright. Peter yelled that he wasn't and narrated what happened between him and Liam in the LCC enterprise. He didn't fail to mention he had lost the project and terminated the call in anger.

Alice started yelling like a mad woman in front of Liam. She rained insults on Liam, making sure to include his family.

Liam ignored her and tried to eat but she threw the food on the floor, saying she would not allow him to have peace after what he had done to Peter.

"Fine. I have been trying to avoid doing this but you asked for it," Liam said and grabbed his phone.

He wrote a text to Mr Smith who immediately got the message and he nodded.

Liam signaled Mr Smith that they should leave. He stood up and they started walking out of the restaurant.

Alice, who was still raining insults on Liam, got a call.

She picked it up.

"Hello!" She said, breathing heavily.

"This is the LCC enterprise. I'm sorry Mrs Alice, we are terminating our partnership and support. From now on, we will not have anything to do with your company anymore,"

“What are you talking about?" Alice asked but the call had already ended.

"No, this cannot happen. No, no," Alice yelled and smashed her phone in anger.

"I know you did this Liam. Who are you? Liam, Liam," Alice screamed like a mad woman, making the other people in the restaurant look at her.

She ran outside in search of Liam but he was nowhere to be found.

Alice rushed home to find Peter drowning himself with several bottles of alcohol.

He was looking so miserable that she got angry and quickly snatched the bottle of alcohol from him.

"Give it back!” Peter requested and stretched his hand forward to have it back but Alice disposed of it.

"How can you bring yourself to these, Peter? What is wrong with you? What has come over you?" She asked him in annoyance.

"Let me be. Give me back the bottle of whiskey you snatched from me," Peter demanded.

"Come to your senses. Why will a wretch like Liam make you feel this way? Are you now feeling like a loser to him? Are you giving up and allowing him to win?" Alice thundered, grabbing Peter by the collar.

She slapped him hard across the face.

"Why won't I feel like a loser? That was supposed to be my biggest achievement this year. I have already bragged about it. I'm to set up a party tonight for people I invited but what will I do or say to them when they show up? Some of them are already calling my phone," Peter said bitterly.

"I will help_"

"How can you do so when you also lost their partnership?" He asked, cutting her off. His question took her by surprise.

"How did you know I lost_"

"I know, news flies and I'm sure the people I bragged about securing the project to have already heard all about it," Peter replied in dismay.

"This is not the end of the world for us. This is not the end."

"It is. How are we going to cope? What will happen to our social status? We were going to use the LCC enterprise partnership to grow in fame and societal status but instead, we have dropped in social ranking. Our net worth too is nothing to write home about."

"Trust me, Peter. I will do something about it. Liam isn't a stranger. I have been putting him in his place and it's not too late. Whatever it takes, we are getting everything he has cost us back," Alice promised.

"How will that be possible? The LCC enterprise is the biggest _"

"We haven't lost them. I will make sure they beg us to accept their partnership. I will make sure their CEO goes down on his knees. You should think about how to deal with Liam. Stop whining and behaving like you have lost everything," Alice encouraged.

"Do something about Liam. Don't let him get Scot free. Deal with him. Make him pay, you have been his superior. You should continue being his superior. He is nothing, make him beg you as he used to," Alice added, motivating Peter.

He saw strength in her words and instantly felt better and zealous to fight Liam.

"Yes, I will deal with him. I will make him pay. He will lick my feet as he used to," Peter replied and stood up.

His eyes burned with an unfathomable desire for revenge. While Alice wondered who Liam was.
