The Desert of Echoes was silent.
Too silent.
No wind.
No birds.
No movement.
Only endless golden sand stretching beyond the horizon.
Kael walked beside his companions, but his mind remained troubled.
The vision of his younger self still haunted him.
The frightened child who had lost everything.
The child who had watched his home burn.
The child who had wondered why the world had abandoned him.
Aurel noticed his silence.
"You faced yourself."
Kael looked at him.
"The desert showed me something I didn't want to see."
Aurel nodded.
"That is the purpose of the first trial."
"Many warriors can defeat enemies."
"Few can face themselves."
Caelan looked around.
"So that was only the first trial?"
Aurel smiled slightly.
"Yes."
The warrior sighed.
"Of course it was."
Elara laughed softly.
"You expected the ancient Sovereigns to make it easy?"
"No."
"I just hoped one of them would be reasonable."
As the sun began to set, they reached a massive stone monument buried beneath the sand.
Only the top was visible.
Ancient symbols covered its surface.
Aurel placed his hand against the stone.
"The second trial."
The monument shook.
Slowly, a staircase descended into the earth.
Cold air escaped from below.
Kael stared into the darkness.
"What is this place?"
"The Hall of Echoes."
Aurel looked serious.
"It shows you the truth you refuse to accept."
They entered.
The walls were covered with thousands of glowing memories.
Battles.
Kings.
Wars.
Betrayals.
The entire history of the Blood Sovereigns was written here.
Kael walked slowly.
He saw his ancestors fighting monsters.
Protecting kingdoms.
Sacrificing themselves.
Then...
The images changed.
A young Emperor Malachar appeared.
Beside him stood King Aetherion.
Kael stopped.
His father.
And his enemy.
They were not fighting.
They were laughing.
Training together.
Sharing food.
Like brothers.
Kaelor stared in disbelief.
"My father..."
Aurel nodded.
"This was before everything changed."
The memory continued.
Aetherion and Malachar stood before the Seven Sovereign Council.
They looked worried.
An ancient scroll lay before them.
Aetherion spoke.
"The Eighth Seal is weakening."
One of the Sovereigns replied,
"Then we must reveal the truth to the world."
Malachar shook his head.
"No."
Everyone turned toward him.
"If the world knows what lies beneath the Imperial Capital..."
"People will panic."
"They will fight over the power."
Aetherion frowned.
"Then what do you suggest?"
Malachar looked at the others.
"We hide the truth."
"We become the villains if necessary."
The memory faded.
Kael stood frozen.
"He wasn't trying to destroy the world..."
Selene quietly said,
"He was trying to protect it."
But another memory appeared.
This one darker.
Aetherion and Malachar stood in the Imperial Palace.
Blood covered the floor.
Aetherion was wounded.
Malachar held a sword.
Kael's breath stopped.
"No..."
His father fell to his knees.
Malachar raised his weapon.
Then Aetherion whispered something.
The memory became unclear.
A flash of light.
A scream.
Then darkness.
Kael clenched his fists.
"What happened?"
Aurel looked away.
"That is the part even I do not know."
Suddenly...
The entire hall shook.
The memories disappeared.
A voice echoed from the walls.
"Truth without acceptance is useless."
A stone doorway appeared.
Above it were engraved words:
"What is the greatest burden of a king?"
Everyone stared.
Caelan scratched his head.
"Strength?"
Elara shook her head.
"Wisdom?"
Selene looked at Kael.
"Responsibility."
The door remained closed.
Kael stepped forward.
He studied the words.
Then he answered.
"The greatest burden of a king..."
"...is making choices that hurt him."
The door glowed.
But it did not open.
Kael continued.
"Because a king cannot choose only what is easy."
"He must choose what protects the most people."
"He must carry the pain others cannot."
The ancient doorway trembled.
Then slowly...
It opened.
Aurel smiled.
"Correct."
Beyond the doorway was a small chamber.
At the center floated a golden flame.
Inside the flame was a figure.
An old man wearing desert robes.
The Fourth Blood Sovereign.
But unlike Arkan's spirit...
This one was awake.
His eyes opened.
"Finally..."
"The heir has arrived."
Kael stepped forward.
"Are you the Fourth Sovereign?"
The old man smiled.
"Yes."
"But I did not call you here to give you power."
Kael frowned.
"Then why?"
The Fourth Sovereign looked toward Kaelor.
Then toward the distant Imperial Capital.
"Because before you can defeat the darkness..."
"You must understand the man protecting it."
Everyone became silent.
The old Sovereign's expression turned serious.
"Malachar did not betray your father."
"He saved him."
Kael froze.
"What?"
The flame flickered.
"And the night your family fell..."
"Was not an assassination."
"It was a sacrifice."
The chamber shook.
A final image appeared.
King Aetherion standing before the Eighth Seal.
Malachar beside him.
Both preparing for a battle they knew they could not win.
Then Aetherion spoke:
"If the world must hate one of us..."
"Let it hate you."
Malachar looked at him.
"Are you sure?"
Aetherion smiled sadly.
"Protect my son."
The vision ended.
Kael stood speechless.
The truth he had searched for...
Was finally beginning to reveal itself.
And it was far more painful than revenge.

CHAPTER 49: THE WORLD BEFORE TIME
Darkness.Then...Light.Kael slowly opened his eyes.He was standing in a vast meadow covered with silver grass that stretched beyond the horizon. Above him, there was no sun, no moon, and no stars. Instead, enormous rivers of light flowed across the sky like living constellations. The air was peaceful.Too peaceful. There was no trace of the Hollow King’s corruption. No scent of death. No hatred.Only silence.“So...”A calm voice echoed behind him.“What do you think of my home?”Kael turned. The Hollow King stood several metres away, no longer wearing his black robes. Instead, he wore simple white clothing, looking less like an ancient destroyer and more like an ordinary traveller.“You brought me here.”The Hollow King nodded.“Yes.”“Where is this place?”The ancient ruler smiled.“The First Realm.”“The birthplace of all worlds.”Kael’s eyes widened.“The First Realm...”“I thought it was only a legend.”“So did everyone after it was erased.”The Hollow King began walking throu
CHAPTER 48: THE HOLLOW KING'S INVITATION
