The choice hung heavily in the air.
"Save this battle..."
"...or save the world."
The First Sovereign's words echoed through the shattered chamber.
Kael looked from the widening Eighth Seal to Lord Varyn, whose body was becoming more corrupted with every passing second.
If Varyn was allowed to live, he would become the Hollow King's perfect vessel.
But if Kael stayed to fight him...
The Fifth Shrine would fall.
The Fifth Sovereign's inheritance would be lost forever.
Malachar stepped beside Kael.
"You already know the answer."
Kael looked at him.
"I can't abandon this fight."
The Emperor shook his head.
"Yes, you can."
Kael frowned.
"What?"
"I spent eighteen years making impossible choices."
Malachar's crimson eyes met his.
"Don't make the same mistake I did."
Silence filled the chamber.
"The world doesn't need one man to carry every burden."
Malachar slowly raised his sword.
"It needs people who trust one another."
He turned toward Selene.
"General."
Selene nodded.
"I understand."
Malachar looked at Caelan.
"Protect him."
The warrior struck his fist against his chest.
"With my life."
Then the Emperor faced Kaelor.
For several moments, father and son simply stared at one another.
"I failed you."
Kaelor's eyes became wet.
"You did."
"I know."
"But today..."
Malachar placed a hand on his son's shoulder.
"...fight beside me."
The prince hesitated.
Then, for the first time in eighteen years...
He embraced his father.
"I'll fight."
Not as a prince.
Not as a son seeking approval.
But as a warrior protecting the world.
Kael watched in silence.
He finally understood.
This was not running away.
This was trusting others.
The First Sovereign lifted his hand.
A gateway of silver light opened behind Kael.
"The Fifth Shrine lies beyond this path."
"You have seven days."
Kael looked at the ancient ruler.
"And if I fail?"
The First Sovereign's expression remained calm.
"Then there will be no eighth day."
Without another word, Kael, Selene, Caelan, Elara and Aurel stepped through the gateway.
The world dissolved around them.
Light swallowed everything.
When Kael opened his eyes...
He was standing beneath a sky unlike any he had ever seen.
There was no sun.
No moon.
Instead...
Seven glowing stars shone directly overhead.
The land stretched endlessly before him.
Fields of white grass swayed in a silent wind.
Crystal rivers flowed uphill.
Mountains floated among the clouds.
Selene whispered,
"This place..."
"It doesn't feel like our world."
Aurel nodded slowly.
"It isn't."
"The Fifth Shrine exists between worlds."
An elderly woman sat beside the crystal river.
She wore simple blue robes.
Her silver hair reached the ground.
She was calmly feeding small birds from her hand.
Without looking up, she spoke.
"I wondered how long it would take."
Kael stepped forward.
"You've been expecting us?"
The woman smiled.
"For four hundred and twelve years."
Everyone exchanged glances.
She stood.
Though she appeared old, her posture was perfectly straight.
"My name..."
"...is Lysara."
"The Fifth Blood Sovereign."
Kael's heart skipped.
"You are alive?"
She laughed softly.
"No."
"My body died centuries ago."
"What you see..."
"...is the final memory my soul was allowed to leave behind."
Lysara walked toward the crystal river.
She touched its surface.
Ripples spread across the water.
Images appeared.
The Seven Sovereigns.
The First Sovereign.
King Aetherion.
Even Malachar.
Then another figure appeared.
A little girl.
She couldn't have been more than ten years old.
She was laughing as she chased butterflies.
Kael frowned.
"Who is she?"
Lysara's smile vanished.
"The Hollow King's first victim."
The water darkened.
The butterflies disappeared.
The little girl screamed.
Darkness consumed the village around her.
Kael clenched his fists.
"The Hollow King..."
"He destroys children too?"
Lysara looked at him with sorrow.
"No."
"He doesn't destroy them."
"He empties them."
She looked directly into Kael's eyes.
"The Hollow King cannot create life."
"So he steals hearts."
Silence.
"Every servant you have fought..."
"Every corrupted beast..."
"Every Abyss creature..."
"They were once living souls."
Selene covered her mouth.
Caelan lowered his spear.
Even Aurel looked shaken.
Kael whispered,
"They can be saved..."
Lysara nodded.
"Some."
"But only if the corruption has not consumed them completely."
Suddenly...
The peaceful valley trembled.
The crystal river turned black.
The seven stars above flickered.
Lysara's expression became grave.
"He found us."
A deep laugh rolled across the valley.
The sky cracked open.
A gigantic hand of living shadow reached through the heavens.
Not the Hollow King himself...
But a fragment of his will.
It pointed directly at Kael.
A voice echoed across the valley.
"Blood of Aetherion..."
"I have finally found you."
The Fifth Sovereign stepped in front of Kael.
Her gentle eyes became fierce.
"No."
"You will not touch my heir."
Blue light erupted from her body.
The entire valley transformed into a battlefield of ancient runes.
She raised one hand.
"The Fifth Trial begins."
Kael gripped the Blood Sovereign Blade.
The journey to the Fifth Inheritance...
Had begun.

Instead, he wore simple white clothing, looking less like an ancient destroyer and more like an ordinary traveller.“You brought me here.”The Hollow King nodded.“Yes.”“Where is this place?”The ancient ruler smiled.“The First Realm.”“The birthplace of all worlds.”Kael’s eyes widened.“The First Realm...”“I thought it was only a legend.”“So did everyone after it was erased.”The Hollow King began walking throu
CHAPTER 48: THE HOLLOW KING'S INVITATION
The moment the Sixth Inheritance merged with Kael’s soul...The world went silent. No wind.No thunder.Even time itself seemed to pause. The six rings surrounding the Blood Sovereign Mark shone together, creating an ancient symbol that had not appeared in thousands of years. The First Sovereign, still beneath the Black Citadel, suddenly looked toward the heavens. His normally calm face filled with disbelief.“It has appeared...”Malachar looked at him.“What has?”“The Crest of the True Sovereign.”Far away at the Shrine of Storms, Kael stared at the glowing mark on his hand.Blue lightning circled around him without causing harm. The winds obeyed his every thought. He could feel every storm across the continent.Every raindrop.Every gust of wind.Every flash of lightning. The Sixth Inheritance had connected him to the skies themselves.Aurel watched in amazement.“I have studied the Seven Sovereigns all my life.”“I have never seen anything like this.”Tharos smiled.“Because it ha
