Chapter eighty six
The rain fell hard as many of the spectators brought out Thier umbrella's to shield themselves. Some of them whispered that Kael had released the dam on water while others had their gaze fixed on what might probably happen next. King Almond's gaze moved slowly from Kael who was just standing without moving an inch. His Hakana that the all thought could not be summon swirl around him like a shield. " Do it." the king whispered silent, his hand clenched. Dareth whose gaze was now a bit sour couldn't phantom the thought of Zeuxis dying. He knew if he died that day then the kingdom was going to be passed down to Zeuxis king's brother who had a better claim to the throne than him. " Get up, Zeuxis! You can do this!" he shouted as the torrent of the rain poured harder. Jarvis who had initially thought Zeuxis was going to win felt it was a waste of time coming to watch the fight. " He won't get away with this." he said wit vermin, his hand etched at the tip of his blade. " Are you nut?"
chapter eighty five
The roar of the spectators thunderd with the two fighters looking at each other. Zeuxis was tired and the thought of ending the fight quickly was everything he could think about. Kael was equally tired by then, Zeuxis was a good fighter. He needed a good blow, a weak spot to end this quickly. Kael’s breath rattled in his chest, ragged, broken, desperate. His sword trembled in his hand, not from fear but from the weight of the energy passing through his veins. His vision flickered between reality and crimson haze. The blood in the sand looked like oceans, and in the center of it stood Zeuxis.“DEATH!” King Almond’s voice cracked through the arena, feeding the frenzy of the crowd. The chant shifted again, the sound of thousands stomping their feet and crying out as one. “Kill! Kill! Kill!”Zeuxis’s grin returned, savage, blood staining his teeth. He pressed his palm against the cut across his chest, smearing the blood across his skin like war paint. “You finally drew my blood. But n

Kael's gaze met with Real's, He could see how pissed off he was Kael’s chest heaved, each breath felt tougher as his gaze locked with his opponent. His grip on the sword was loose, almost fragile, yet his eyes remained razor-sharp. The roar of the spectators was rather annoying. Kael could barely focus. The injury the assassin had inflicted on him was still painful. He felt sore and knew he had to end the fight in time. Zeuxis circled him like a predator testing its prey, blade gleaming with every turn.“Pathetic,” Zeuxis spat, dragging the edge of his weapon across the sand. Sparks hissed in the air as steel kissed stone. “You came back from death for this? To stand like a coward in front of your people? You should have stayed dead, dude." The crowd roared with laughter, echoing his taunt.Kael still didn’t move. His silence made the air heavier, his calm more unsettling than any counterattack.Up in the balcony, King Almond’s eyes narrowed. He leaned on his staff, lips curling

The gong struck outside, its deep vibration shaking the hall to its very foundations. The crowd roared, a wild chorus that carried through the stone walls like a storm begging to be unleashed. The air inside the chamber grew heavier. Each elder looked uneasy in their seat, yet none dared to question the king’s decree.Commander Rael’s jaw tightened. He bent slightly, whispering close to Kael’s ear.“You’re not ready for this. You can barely stand, let alone fight.”Kael’s lips curled into a faint, defiant smile. “If I don’t stand today, I will never stand again. Don’t you see, Rael? They won’t let me live in peace. If I back down, I’ll be hunted until the end of my days.”Rael’s eyes softened. “Then let me fight in your place.”Kael chuckled, even though his chest ached with every breath. “If you fight, Rael, they’ll call it mercy. If I fight, they’ll call it fate.”Before Rael could argue, Zeuxis strode across the floor, his boots clapping against the polished stone. His eyes burned

The hall went dead silent. No one talked, no one moved. The rasping breath of Kael was the only thing that was heard. Commander Rael could barely believe it. He had witnessed Kael dead for two days. No movement, no dull breathing. Just dead. Zeuxis folded his hand a little; his eyebrows were slightly arched. Dareth stood up from his seat to have a clear vision of what was going on. King Almond looked at Rael expecting an explanation, but he himself didn't have an explanation for what just happened. It has never happened before. He is a dead man coming back to life. Elira got up, coughed slightly, his gaze locked on Kael, who was still on the floor breathing slowly. "He was never dead. "His Hakana never left his body," she said, slowly walking out of her seat. "Are you saying his Hakana kept him alive?" one of the elders asked. Elira stopped dead in her tracks and turned slightly. "He is special. The dark Hakana inside of him might be dormant, but that doesn't mean he cannot b

The hall was silent, but the silence was not peace. Everyone was eager, anticipating to hear the words that were going to come out of Dareth's mouth, and Rael was equally anticipating. His hand was slightly clenched on the top of his sword. Zeuxis saw reheated tension and slightly walked back, trying to avoid the bloodbath. Dareth’s lips twitched into a small smirk, though his eyes glimmered with fury. He stepped closer to Rael, their noses almost touching. “Careful with your words, Commander. Accusations without proof are nothing more than barking.”Rael’s hand pressed harder against the hilt of his sword. The scrape of steel nearly sang through the air as he half-drew the blade. His voice cracked like lightning. “Then let me prove it by cutting the truth from your throat!”“Stop!” Elder Greyworm’s voice thundered louder than both men combined. The old man’s staff slammed the ground, and an unnatural vibration spread through the marble floor. The runes carved into his staff flicker
