Bianca's cheek flushed in embarrassment.

"I need to go now, Papa," she quickly said, avoiding his grandfather's gaze. "Tomorrow will get the herbs to flush the poison from your blood."

She said and immediately stepped out from the old man's study. She closed the door behind her and let out a sharp exhale feeling her heart racing.

"Get over yourself, Bianca." She placed a palm over her chest to steady her breath and let out a soft and exhale.

She stepped out of the house with Elias.

"Where will you be going from here, Mr. Kade?" She asked in concern. "I heard you just divorced."

"I'll look for a place." Elias simply said.

Bianca nodded but she wasn't satisfied. She pulled out two black cards from her pocket. One is a Master card stocked with $10 million grands and the other Card is an access card to the Morreti's properties across the city. It had gold lettering embossed at the centre.

"My grandfather asked me to give you both. You'll have free access to any of our family businesses with the access card." She forced the cards into his palm.

She added immediately.

"And it's late already. It'll be difficult to get a place to stay this night. Most hotels would hand been filled up. I have an apartment property not too far from here. What do you think, Mr. Kade?"

"You want me to share a house with you?" He raised a brow.

"Is that a problem, Mr. Kade?" She asked with a raised brow. "It's not a bad idea to have someone like you around and morever I stay alone." She said, already walking to the car before Elias could protest. She smiled slightly immediately she turned away, feeling her heart racing.

Elias shook his head and exhaled softly. Regardless of how he felt about the offer, Bianca was right. It'll be difficult to get a place to stay that night. Thinking about that, Elias walked to the car and stepped in.

After about ten minutes drive in silence, the Car pulled into a premises. A two storey building with two columns at the front, trimmed lawns and a spilling fountain at the front. Elias didn't expect less from the heiress of the Moretti family.

The Car pulled to a stop in front of the building and Bianca stepped out before Elias.

"Here we are, Mr. Kade," She said gesturing at the building. "It might be lesser than your expectation."

"You have a nice place." Elias said sincerely.

"Thank you." She smiled at the compliment. "Shall we?"

Elias nodded and together they walked into the apartment.

The interior was breathtaking but Elias didn't act too surprised. He was only silently intrigued at her politely despite being the heiress of a wealthy family. Wealth turns most rich people into arrogance. And a typical of that was Amara. She kicked him out with a divorce paper when she rose to the top of her career. She would thought he's on the street, spending the night under the bridge with beggars but Elias' reality was a contrast.

The furnitures were neartly arranged, the floor sparkling clean like it had never been touched by feet before.

"You have a nice taste, Ms. Bianca." Elias simply said.

"Thanks, Mr. Kade. But you're being too formal, Mr. Kade."

"We're even."

Bianca looked at him with a light smile. She clicked forward one step. "Then do you prefer I call you Elias? You call me Bianca."

Elias smiled lightly.

"You have the floor, Bianca."

Bianca nodded with a genuine smile. There was something about him that kept pulling her in deeper and deeper.

Her phone buzzed before she could speak again.

"Hello. Do you get the plants?"

"They're rare plants, Ms. Bianca." A masculine voice came from the other end. "An auction will be taking place at the Medicinal Herb pavilion tomorrow. I heard they mostly have those kinds of rare herbs."

Bianca nodded. "Alright alright. Thank you. That'll be the next option. Goodnight." The call snapped.

"The Herbs isn't available in our Industry." She informed Elias. "But there is an auction tomorrow at the Medicinal Herb pavilion. Shall we go there together since you recognize them?"

Elais nodded gently. "It's not a problem." He said.

"Thanks, Elias." She said with a softer voice and then pulled off her heels. "I'll lead you to the upper floor to spend the night. It's more comfortable there."

Elias nodded without any words.

Together, they arrived at the second floor which has similar design with the basement.

"Here is the passcode for the door..1990..that is the bathroom over there and..here is the bedroom." She kept explaining to Elias with ease.

"Thank you." Elias said. "Have a good night."

"And you too, Elias." Bianca said, exhaustion palpable in her eyes. She walked to the door and stopped and turned back. "What would you like to eat?"

"Eat?" Elais repeated. "You don't have to."

" I have to." She said firmly. "You're in my place so It's my responsibility to handle necessary things."

"And part of that responsibility includes cooking for another man?"

Bianca Paused and lifted one brow. "I am single, Elais. Is there anything thing you see that made you think otherwise?" Her eyes stayed on him.

"You have everything. Money, fame, connection. It's easier to get a man."

"What about me getting a man who I actually love."

Silence settled between them. Bianca's held his gaze firmly like she was looking through his soul. The connection was involuntary like something kept drawing her to Elais. Her heart hammered. She gulped and quickly looked away. And Elias saw her face with clarity under the illuminants. Her beauty radiates, stunning enough to make men lose their mind but Elias was indifferent about it. He simply noticed it, and quietly admired her.

"I'll just prepare something." She quickly turned and walked out of the room. Elias stared at the door for a few seconds before shaking off the thought.

Bianca Walked to the kitchen after she took a refreshing bath. She wore a silk nightwear that shifted under the light with two slings over her shoulder, her hair pulled back tightly. The dress was not too modest and not too immoral— just something enough for Elias to notice her.

Her hands moved with the professional ease of someone accustomed to the kitchen work; Knife chopping through onion and pepper, Spaghetti bubbling under the gas cooker. Sweats glistened over her face as warmth spread through the kitchen.

Elias walked to the kitchen door, watching her movement with a faint smile of impression. He was Surprised by the effortless ease she moved through the kitchen. Amara had never done something like this for him, always complained of being too busy. He had always been the one doing it but in the end, she called him irresponsible. And there she was— a woman she'd met less than 24hrs, heiress of one the prestigious Moretti family preparing food for him.

The smell of the food filled his nostril and his stomach grumbled.

Bianca wiped sweat from her face and turned, surprised to see him standing at the door. She smiled gently.

"How long have you been watching?"

"How long have you been watching?" She dried her wet palm with a towel and turned to him, smiling. Elias leaned against the door frame casually. "Long enough to know you didn't shed tears while cutting those Onions." Bianca chuckled. "Do you?" "I love Onions— in food of course but I hate chopping them. Makes me shed tears I never intended." Bianca laughed. "What other things make you cry aside onions? Like the woman you love breaking your heart?" Elias' smile died slowly. "I'm..I'm sorry.. Didn't mean to hit a nerve." Elias nodded. "You didn't," He said with a quiet voice, unbothered about Amara— he was just disappointed he did all he did for the wrong woman. "She just hadn't done all of this for once. • THE NINE VEINS VENOM

Elias walked to the slab where the old man lay motionless. His eyes, trained sharper than any advanced cutting-edge technology with ancient technique that most people had forgotten assessed him keenly. Silence fell over the room except for the steady beeping of the heart monitor displaying analysis that suggested life was hanging on a very slim thread that made snapping so-soon inevitable. Dr. Greg watched Elias with arms folded across his chest, his smirk sharp. He chuckled softly, shaking his head and waiting for the moment Elias would eventually humiliate himself. Bianca stood in a straight posture, her eyes never blinking from Elias. The old man's breathing was slow— too slow that suggested whatever was going on through his body was diminishing his heart function, his face paled as though somehow in his paralyzed state, he was in the land of ghosts. Elias pressed two fingers on his neck to feel his pulse. His eyes narrowed, his expression cracking in genuine surprise. Dr. Gr

His eyes flashed in familiarity and surprise. "Elias?!" His voice rasped. "What are you doing here?" "Respect, Greg. It
