The click of heels echoed down the hospital corridor as Emilia Richardson approached, her designer dress swishing with each purposeful step.

"Denver!" she called out warmly, immediately wrapping him in an embrace. "Thank you so much for being here."

Denver returned the hug with a practiced smile. "Of course, Emilia. Laurent needs all the support he can get."

Emilia pulled back, her expression shifting as she glanced around. "Where's Keith? Shouldn't he be here?"

Emilia's eyes lit up with malicious glee. "Oh, that coward? He's hiding like a scared rabbit somewhere in this hospital. Can you believe it? While his brother-in-law is dying, he runs away to avoid giving blood!"

"What?" Emilia's voice rose in disbelief.

"It's true!" Emilia continued, her voice dripping with manufactured outrage. "Denver here had to step in and arrange everything. He's even contacted the Miracle Doctor to treat Laurent!"

Emilia's face flushed with anger as she turned back to Denver, gripping his arm tightly. "You're incredible, Denver. You're doing more for my family than my own husband!"

She pressed closer to him, her voice turning cold. "When Laurent recovers—and I know he will, thanks to you—I'm throwing that useless blood bag out. We won't need him anymore."

Meanwhile, in Room 304, Keith's eyes fluttered open. The sterile ceiling spun above him like a carousel. A young nurse approached, her expression a mixture of pity and professional obligation.

"Mr. Cross?" she said softly. "You're awake. I need to inform you that your family hasn't arranged payment for your treatment. You'll need to handle the medical bills yourself."

Keith stared at her, the words sinking in like stones in still water. Of course they didn't, he thought bitterly.

"I understand," he said quietly, slowly pushing himself up from the bed.

The nurse's face softened. "Sir, you should rest. You've lost a significant amount of blood—"

"I'm fine." Keith's voice was steady despite the dizziness. He swung his legs over the side of the bed, ignoring the way the room tilted.

Stepping into the hallway, Keith moved unsteadily, one hand trailing along the wall for support. The voices ahead grew clearer with each step—Emilia's laugh, Denver's smooth responses, Emilia's shrill commentary.

He rounded the corner and there they were: Emilia still clinging to Denver's arm like a barnacle on a ship's hull, Emilia gesturing dramatically, all of them standing outside Laurent's ICU room.

"Keith!" Emilia's voice cracked like a whip. "There you are, you coward!"

All three pairs of eyes turned to him. Keith stood there, pale and swaying slightly, his hospital gown wrinkled and bloodstained.

"Look at you," Emilia continued, her voice rising. "Hiding like a worm when your family needs you! You can't help with the business, and you can't even fulfill the one pathetic duty you have as a blood donor husband!"

Denver shifted uncomfortably, but said nothing.

"If it weren't for Denver," Emilia spat, "my brother would be dead right now! Dead! Because his so-called brother-in-law ran away like a frightened mouse!"

Keith felt something inside him crack—not from pain, but from the sheer absurdity of it all. This woman, he thought, doesn't even know that I'm the reason her family's business grew tenfold. And now she can't even believe I donated blood for her brother.

Emilia stepped forward, her smile as sharp as broken glass. "Oh, Keith, you look terrible! Like a drowned rat!" She laughed, the sound echoing off the hospital walls. "But don't worry about your appearance. Denver has already contacted the Miracle Doctor!"

She paused for dramatic effect, clearly savoring the moment. "Now that we have real help, you're about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Emilia will be divorcing you very soon."

Emilia lifted her chin, looking down at Keith like he was something she'd scraped off her shoe. "That's right. You're finished here."

Keith couldn't help himself—he began to laugh. It started as a quiet chuckle but grew into full, genuine laughter that bounced off the hospital walls.

"What's so funny?" Emilia demanded, her face flushing red.

"You," Keith said between laughs, "talking about the Miracle Doctor like you actually know who he is."

Emilia's eyes narrowed. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Do you honestly think," Keith continued, his voice filled with amusement, "that someone like Denver can just snap his fingers and summon the Miracle Doctor? You're like a house cat thinking it can command a lion."

"How dare you!" Emilia shrieked. "You clearly don't understand the power of the West family! They're a B-tier family in this city! Finding one doctor is like picking up pebbles on a beach for them!"

Keith's laughter intensified, which only made Emilia more furious.

"Stop laughing at me!" she screamed. "If you had shown even a little respect, I might have let you stay on as a servant! Clean toilets, scrub floors—something suited to your level! But now? Now I'm divorcing you!"

Keith's laughter finally subsided, replaced by a cold smile. "I'll be waiting for those divorce papers with great anticipation."

He turned his back on them, walking away with as much dignity as his weakened state allowed.

"Where do you think you're going?" Emilia called after him. "Crawling back to whatever hole you came from?"

Keith didn't bother to respond. As he reached the hospital exit, his phone buzzed. He glanced at the caller ID and answered.

"Miracle Doctor," the voice on the other end was practically vibrating with excitement, "we've found a way to restore your powers!"

"Do you have any idea who you're speaking to?"The middle-aged man crossed his arms stubbornly, his skepticism written across his weathered features. "Listen, lady, I don't care what credentials you wave around. This kid looks like he just graduated high school, not medical school!"Just then, the suite's double doors opened with a soft whoosh, and a striking woman entered the room. She possessed an air of natural authority that seemed to command respect from everyone present, her designer business suit tailored to perfection."Chris," she said coolly, her voice carrying the weight of generations of breeding and power, "what exactly is going on here?"The middle-aged man—Chris—immediately straightened, though his exp

What are you waiting for? Handle this situation right now! I don't care what it takes!"She grabbed his arm with clawed fingers, her face twisted with indignation. "You promised me you were powerful! You said no one in this city could challenge the Walsh family! "I knew it! You've been sleeping with this woman behind my back! That's why you signed those papers so easily, isn't it?"Her finger jabbed accusingly at Linda, trembling with rage. "How long have you been carrying on this disgusting affair? How long have you been making a fool of me?"Keith's expression remained glacially cold as he regarded his soon-to-be ex-wife. "Not everyone is like you, Emilia."The words hit like a physical blow, and Emilia's face contorted with humiliated fury. "What good are you if you can't even handle a few security guards?"Emilia flinched under her mother's verbal assault, her cheeks burning with humiliation. "Mother, please—""Don't 'Mother please' me!" Melaine snapped, jabbing her finger at Emilia's chest. "Call Denver right now! Make him fix this mess!"With trembling fingers, Emilia dialed Denver's number, pressing the phone desperately to her ear. The phone rang once, twice, three times before going to voicemail. She tried again with the same result."He's not answering," Emilia whispered, her voice barely audible."Not answering?" Melaine's voice reached a pitch that could shatter glass. "What kind of man doesn't answer when his fiancée calls? What kind of powerful family heir ignores an emergency?"The men in black watched the scene with obv

Keith leaned back in his chair, studying the phone with newfound interest. "What's your name?""Ivan Kappel," the voice replied, trembling with desperation. "I'm the heir of the Kappel family. Please, sir, my father doesn't have much time left."Keith raised an eyebrow, glancing at Linda. The name meant nothing to him—in his prime, families of such insignificance had been beneath his notice, like ants scurrying around the feet of giants.Linda leaned forward, her voice low but audible. "The Kappel family owns assets worth several billion dollars. They're an S-tier family from the provincial capital—barely wealthy enough to know about your true identity."Barely at the threshold, Keith thought, amused by the irony. Once upon a time, I wouldn't have bothered with anyone below triple-A tier."Send me the address," Keith said into the phone. "I'll come tomorrow.""Thank you! Thank you so much!" Ivan's relief was palpable through the speaker. "We've reserved the entire top floor of St. Aug

Emilia stormed out onto the bustling city street, fury crackling off her in waves. Denver hurried after her, nearly stumbling in his rush to catch up. Neon’s glittering lights mocked them both, a painful reminder of the humiliation they'd just endured."I can't believe that lowlife dared to humiliate us!" Emilia seethed, her voice echoing down the sidewalk. "He's found some new, rich woman, hasn’t he? That scheming bastard!"Denver nodded, frustration burning behind his eyes. "It makes sense. How else could a penniless parasite like Keith even dream of getting into Neon’s VIP suites? He's probably been cozying up to her behind your back."Emilia’s manicured hands clenched into fists, nails digging sharply into her palms. "He thinks he can walk away so easily? Well, I’ll show him. He'll regret ever crossing the Richardson family."Denver lifted an eyebrow, curiosity flickering. "And what exactly do you have in mind?"A cruel smirk tugged at Emilia’s lips. "First, I'm filing for divorce
