Keith watched the frantic activity with detached interest, his expression revealing nothing of his thoughts. The potion Linda had given him had worked exactly as intended, but he maintained his facade of innocent confusion perfectly.

Within twenty minutes, Dr. Matthews arrived - a stern, gray-haired man in his sixties who exuded authority and competence. He swept into the room like a hurricane, immediately taking charge of the situation.

"Henderson!" Dr. Matthews barked. "What the hell happened here?"

"I don't know, sir," Dr. Henderson replied miserably. "The transfusion was routine. Everything was by the book. Then suddenly the patient went into some kind of seizure and collapsed into unconsciousness."

Dr. Matthews turned his sharp eyes on the younger doctor with obvious disdain. "Routine? Nothing about this looks routine to me. Did you verify blood compatibility?"

"Yes, sir. Multiple times. I have all the test results right here."

Dr. Matthews snatched the papers and scanned them qu

Keith's voice softened slightly. "I know you can, but this isn't about your capabilities. It's about eliminating a threat efficiently. Having you there would complicate things.""How?" Linda demanded."Because seeing you might make Sean even more unpredictable," Keith explained."Right now, he wants something from me. If you're there, he might do something desperate that puts you in danger."Linda opened her mouth to argue further, but Keith's phone buzzed with an incoming text message."That was fast," Keith said, reading the message from Lucas. "Sean Li, 1247 Riverside Drive. Currently hosting some kind of party at his residence.""A party?" Linda asked with surprise.Keith read more of the text. "Lucas says Sean is apparently celebrating something with his medical colleagues. He's a surgeon at Metropolitan General Hospital.""Medical colleagues," Linda repeated with a frown. "That explains a lot about his arrogance and god complex.""It also means he'll have witnesses around," Keit

Keith and Linda returned to the villa, both feeling a sense of satisfaction from their successful confrontation with the Richardson family. The moonlight streamed through the tall windows as they entered the foyer, casting long shadows across the marble floors.Keith was already planning their next moves when Linda suddenly stopped at the entrance table."Keith," Linda said, her voice tight with concern. "There's a letter here."Keith turned to see Linda holding a cream-colored envelope with no return address. Her hands were trembling slightly as she tore it open and read the contents."What does it say?" Keith asked, though the look on Linda's face already told him it wasn't good news.Linda's voice shook as she read aloud: "Keith Cross, stay out of my business and bring Linda to me. You have 24 hours. Don't make me come looking for you both.""It's signed by Sean Li," Linda whispered, sinking into a nearby chair.Keith's expression hardened as he took the letter from her hands and e

Laurent slowly sat up in bed, his eyes darting around the room with confusion as he took in the tense atmosphere. The color had returned to his cheeks, and his breathing was steady and normal. The transformation was nothing short of miraculous - one moment he had been at death's door, and now he appeared completely healthy.Emilia rushed to his side, tears of relief streaming down her face as she embraced her brother. "Laurent! Oh thank God, you're awake! I was so scared I was going to lose you!"Laurent patted her back weakly, still disoriented from his ordeal. "What happened to me? I feel strange, but... better somehow."Keith watched the reunion with cold satisfaction, his arms crossed as he stood near the window. Linda packed up her medical supplies efficiently, preparing for their departure now that their business was concluded."Keith," Emilia said suddenly, turning away from Laurent with hope shining in her eyes. "The antidote you gave Laurent - did it also heal his original si

"Our home means nothing if Laurent is dead!" Edward exploded, his voice cracking with emotion. "Don't you understand that? Without Laurent, what's the point of keeping anything?"Keith nodded approvingly. "A wise decision. But I want it in writing. Legal documents, with witnesses, so you can never twist the agreement later.""What do you mean?" Edward asked warily.Keith pulled out his phone and dialed Linda's number. "Linda? Yes, it's me. I need you to contact that lawyer we discussed... Yes, immediately... I need legal documents prepared for the Richardson family to sign."Emilia listened with growing horror as Keith continued his conversation."I want a complete transfer of ownership for the Richardson mansion," Keith said into the phone. "And a binding agreement for the return of all funds taken from my accounts... Yes, I want it ironclad. No loopholes, no escape clauses.""Keith, please," Emilia begged. "Don't do this to us."Keith held up a hand for silence as he finished his ca

The grandfather clock in the Richardson mansion's living room ticked away the minutes with agonizing precision.Three hours had passed since Laurent collapsed into his coma, and the atmosphere in the room had grown suffocatingly tense. The medical equipment continued its steady beeping, the only sound breaking through the heavy silence that had settled over everyone present.Edward paced back and forth across the marble floor like a caged animal, his expensive shoes clicking against the stone with each step. His face was drawn and haggard, the confident patriarch who had welcomed Keith with such arrogance now looking like a broken man wrestling with impossible choices.Emilia remained seated beside Laurent's bed, her tears long since dried up, leaving only red-rimmed eyes and streaks of mascara down her cheeks. She stared at her brother's motionless form, occasionally reaching out to touch his hand as if willing him back to consciousness.Keith stood near the window, perfectly still a

The police officers left, their footsteps echoing through the mansion's grand hallway. Dr. Henderson packed up his equipment quickly, clearly eager to escape the toxic atmosphere."I'll be filing my report about this incident," Dr. Henderson said nervously. "The medical board will need to investigate what happened here.""Don't bother," Dr. Matthews said dismissively. "There's nothing to investigate. The patient had an unexplained reaction to a routine procedure. It happens sometimes."Dr. Matthews gathered his own equipment, his movements brisk and professional. "Mr. Richardson, I suggest you focus on finding a long-term care facility for your son. He's going to need specialized attention.""You're all abandoning us," Emilia whispered, watching the doctors prepare to leave."We're not abandoning you," Dr. Matthews replied coldly. "We're simply acknowledging our limitations. Modern medicine can't cure everything, young lady."Within minutes, both doctors had left, taking most of their
