Damian stood over Penelope, who had collapsed back onto the floor during her rant, his shadow falling across her like a dark omen. His voice came out flat, emotionless, which somehow made it even more terrifying than if he'd been shouting.

"If you have a death wish, just let me see you in front of that land again. Just show your face there one more time, and you are going to die. I'm not making a threat. I'm making a promise."

He crouched down slightly, bringing his face closer to hers so she could see the absolute certainty in his eyes, the complete lack of hesitation or doubt.

"But like I said before, this is just the beginning of what I'm going to do to you and the entire Nathaniel family. This is nothing compared to what's coming. So pass my message to them. Tell them that I'm back. Tell them that I'm coming for every single one of them. Tell them to prepare themselves, because the storm that's about to hit them won't leave anything standing."

He straightened up and turned to leave, dismissing her as if she were nothing more than an insect beneath his notice.

Penelope's voice rose to a shriek behind him, her pride wounded more than her body.

"Is this a threat? Are you actually threatening me right now? How dare you! How dare you threaten the Nathaniel family!" Her voice cracked with a mixture of rage and lingering fear. "You will see! I'm going to come for you! You have nowhere to run, nowhere to hide! The entire family will hunt you down like the dog you are! Just hold on and see what happens to people who disrespect us!"

But Damian wasn't listening anymore. Her words faded into background noise, meaningless sounds that couldn't penetrate the singular focus that had taken over his mind. His sister. He needed to find Rebecca. Nothing else mattered right now, not Penelope's threats, not the Nathaniel family's power, not even his rage about his mother's desecrated grave. All of that could wait. All of that would be dealt with in time. But Rebecca needed him now.

He spotted a taxi rolling down the street and flagged it down with an urgent wave of his hand. The driver pulled over and Damian climbed into the back seat, his body moving on autopilot while his mind raced ahead to what he might find at Zed Bar.

"Zed Bar, and make it fast," he said, his voice tight with barely controlled emotion.

The driver nodded and pulled away from the curb, leaving Penelope still sprawling on her doorstep.

Behind him, Penelope remained on the ground for several long moments, her entire body shaking like a leaf caught in a violent storm. She looked down at her hands and watched them tremble uncontrollably, the adrenaline that had kept her talking finally draining away and leaving nothing but raw fear in its wake.

"I just can't believe it," she muttered to herself, her voice barely above a whisper. "That bastard, that absolute bastard literally just lifted me up like I weighed nothing. He grabbed me by the throat and held me in the air like I was a child's toy."

She touched her neck again, wincing at the tenderness, feeling the heat of forming bruises beneath her fingertips.

"He's strong. Too strong. That's not normal. Nobody should be that strong."

But even as fear coursed through her veins, anger began to surface alongside it. How dare he put his hands on her? How dare he threaten her family? The shock of his physical power was real, but she couldn't let this stand. She couldn't let him just walk away after humiliating her like this.

"Everybody needs to hear about this," she said, her voice gaining strength as indignation replaced terror. "Everybody in the family needs to know what just happened. That bastard will not get away with this. He will not go scot-free."

Her hands still shaking, Penelope fumbled for her phone in her pocket. She pulled it out and immediately started scrolling through her contacts, her thumb moving frantically across the screen as she searched for the right number. She needed to call someone.

"Where is it? Where is the number?" she muttered, scrolling faster, her vision slightly blurred from the rage and humiliation that threatened to spill from her eyes.

The older man nodded enthusiastically, his laughter subsiding into a cruel smirk."Things like this, if she had just actually allowed us to have our way with her from the beginning, none of this would have happened. Huh? None of this pain, none of this blood. But she pushed us to this point. She forced us to inflict this punishment with her stubborn refusal and her ridiculous resistance."He gestured at Rebecca's motionless form with his whip, as casually as if he were pointing out furniture."And this? This is just the beginning. We were just waiting for her to regain a little bit of consciousness, a little bit of strength, so we could continue. Because what's the fun in beating someone who can't even feel it anymore?"The younger man's eyes gleamed with sadistic anticipation."And this time around, you are going to stand there and watch. That is the most interesting part, the part that makes this whole situation so delicious. You're going to stand there, big bro, and watch everythin

At that moment in time, upon hearing the three words that had just left Damian's mouth, delivered in that low, deadly whisper that promised violence beyond imagination, the atmosphere in the room shifted completely. The two men with whips finally turned around to see who had dared to interrupt their entertainment. But as their eyes adjusted to the figure standing in the doorway, they realized they weren't alone in the VIP room. This wasn't just some private party between two sadistic bastards and their victim. There were six men total in that space, Damian now realized as his eyes swept across the scene with cold calculation. Six of them. The two with whips, and four others seated on the plush leather couches that lined the walls, drinks in their hands, watching the torture like it was a theater performance put on for their amusement. Some had loosened their ties and shed their suit jackets. Others still looked pristine, as if they'd just come from a business meeting and decided to st

His expression hardened into something that made the young woman take an involuntary step backward."You need to start leaving now," Damian said quietly, his voice carrying a weight that made it sound less like a suggestion and more like a prophecy. "Get out of this area. Go to the back, go outside, go anywhere that's not here. Because all hell is going to break loose very soon, and I don't want you caught in the middle of it."Without waiting for her response, without giving her a chance to argue or plead with him further, Damian turned and walked with deliberate purpose toward the VIP section. The hallway leading to the private rooms was dimmer than the main bar area, lit only by small wall sconces that cast long shadows across the worn carpet. The walls were painted a deep red that looked almost black in the low light, and the doors lining either side were heavy wood with brass numbers bolted to them.VIP Room 1. VIP Room 3. VIP Room 5.Damian's eyes scanned each number as he passe

At that moment, upon hearing the words that had just left the lady's mouth, Damian was taken aback, his entire body going rigid as if someone had just slapped him across the face."The little witch?" he repeated slowly, the words tasting foul on his tongue. His brow furrowed in confusion and growing dread. "What are you talking about? The little witch?"He shook his head, trying to push past the anger and fear clouding his thoughts."I don't actually know anyone by that name. Her name is Rebecca. Rebecca Cross. That's who I'm looking for."Immediately the young woman let out a short, bitter laugh that held no humor whatsoever, just the weary cynicism of someone who'd seen too much ugliness in her short life."Yes, I know you don't know her as the little witch. Nobody comes in here asking for the little witch by that name." She shifted the tray of glasses to her other hip, her expression a mixture of pity and something darker. "We call her that just because of the way she behaves. Yeah

Meanwhile, the taxi carrying Damian wove through traffic, the driver sensing his passenger's urgency and taking shortcuts wherever possible. Damian sat in the back seat, his hands clenched into fists on his thighs, his jaw locked so tight it ached. Every second felt like an eternity. Every red light felt like a personal insult from the universe. His mind kept circling back to Penelope's words, the casual cruelty in her voice when she'd talked about breaking Rebecca, about crushing her down until she became a shadow of herself. What did that mean? What had they done to his little sister while he was gone?Rebecca had only been twenty years old when he left for the war. She'd been bright, full of life, with dreams of becoming a teacher. She loved books and children, spent her free time volunteering at the local school even though they barely had enough money to feed themselves. She'd been so excited when Damian married into the Nathaniel family, believing it meant a better life for both
