Chapter Ten

Cynthia returned home and feel fulfilled with what he went out for. She never thought she could return with such an amount of information. Her colleagues were already seated in the parlour. That would be the last major day they would be spending together. In the hotel room where they had been lounging were Jessica, Alice, Sophia and Agnes. They were filled with goosebumps when they caught sight of her. They couldn’t wait to hear what he had to say.

“How was it?” Sophia asked.

Sophia was the tallest among them. They were all curvy and had almost the same figure-8 shape that seemed unresistable. Cynthia ensure he was comfortable and drank the water she was given before she said anything. She brought out her phone and played all their conversation because she recorded everything as they were told by Sam and Clinton but were meant to do it cunningly.

When they finished listening to it, they were surprised by the amount of information she was able to get from him and he sent the record to Detective Sam immediately. Her colleagues learnt one or two things after listening to the record and their confidence was galvanized.

Cynthia was the leader of the ladies and they were meant to follow any instruction she gave. She was meant to serve as the intermediary between the Supernumerary police and Sam, Clinton including the police commissioner.

“Alice. You will be taken to your empire tomorrow on the Island. The guys have been prepared and you are meant to serve as the weapon supplier. You will be the one in charge of the weapon that will be used by my empire. Jessica will be the supplier of men both those that will be guarding the empire in Yaba and those that will be engaging in the transaction. Sophia will be the account auditor while Agnes will be the producer of the hard drug. I am certain we are well aware why it was shared in this manner. We are gonna give in to Herbert Halloway’s wish but not fully and he will certainly need our service that’s how we are gonna penetrate him. It is a matter of time,” Cynthia said.

Cynthia brought out a few papers. She was glancing through the top and was handing it over to them. They were entering the major area of the mission. The Supernumerary police glanced through it and nodded.

“I haven’t told him about any of the occupation you ladies engage in. But he is gonna invite you all one after the other I think and perhaps, visited the empire which is the major reason physical property was necessitated. The cars, funds, resources and the materials we are gonna need have been prepared at respective location.”

Amidst their discussion Alice phone rang. They paused gazing at the phone because its tone was loud and attention seizing.

“Wow. It is Herbert Halloway.”

They became more concentrated.

“Hello,” she said.

“Hey, Alice. How are you?”

“I am fine. How about you?”

“I am good too. Are your colleagues there with you?”

“My colleagues?” She was looking around and Cynthia gave him a signal saying ‘no’, “No. We don’t live together. I thought we’ve told you that.”

“Oh. Yes. I am sorry. I met with Cynthia today and we talked. Where do you reside?”

She had forgotten the name of the place she would be going to reside for the mission. She grabbed the paper given to her by Cynthia.

“I live on the Island. Ehmm, Victoria Island. Along that Oniru path.”

“Oh. If you don’t mind I should come over because I noticed you’ve been busy for the past couple of days.”

“Yes. That’s not a problem. But that wouldn’t be this week. Next week we can discuss.”

Cynthia was disappointed that she said next week. She wanted her to give probably the following day because they would be leaving for the day but Alice thought of the need to know more about the place and settle down before she could welcome his presence.

When they were done, they packed their belongings and paid off their bills then ordered a ride to their respective locations. Cynthia and Jessica drove the car they had been driving everywhere since they began the mission.

A few minutes later, Jessica’s phone rang. She had already left her colleague and she was in the car driving to Badagry where her own empire in the part of Lagos had been prepared and meant to be training the men which was to be used by the drug trafficking activities.

She responded to the call and they had a fruitful conversation. Herbert Halloway would be visiting Badagry for the first time and really wanted to see what they were into. He was later disapointed that he let everything out to Cynthia without any confirmation after the conversation he had with his closest bouncer.

After the call came to an end, he gave the report to Jamy.

“Alright. Have they been prepared.”

Jamy nodded. Jamy was a lanky guy with a huge chest. He was tall and looked very fearful. His body was inundated with tattoo. He rarely smiled and had recently been getting angry at Herbert by his sudden jovial nature.

“We will be leaving for Badagry tomorrow to confirm it.”

Herbert Halloway had also chosen to go with the spy that would be kept on the building. He wasn’t going to flip and wouldn’t let his emotion get the best of him. He didn’t want to lose those ladies and really wanted them. If possible and they would agree, he would marry them all.

When Jessica touched down in Badagry late in the evening. She was showed around by the guys who had been prepared and they had been giving instruction concerning how they were gonna act and disguised as trainers.

Sam and Clinton were still checking some of the men recently sent by the commissioner and more would be supplied to Badagry.
