"I am ready to fight and win the battle ahead."

Dave said with a grin and excused himself for the president to speak with his colleagues.

As he walked away,he felt something holding him up and admired himself for the man he's becoming now.

Dave was now at the counter, waiting for the waitress to serve him.

"Master, you're back?"

The lady asked with a beam.

"I'd thought you were going to leave without coming for your prepared whiskey."

The woman exclaimed

"Hahaha,I still remember my package waitress".

Dave said with chuckles and nodded his head, waiting for the waitress to serve him his whiskey and hot kebab, grilled and garnished with veggies.

"I can feel the aroma of the grilled kebab; you must be a good cook."

Dave teased with a smile.

The waitress smiled back, and after she was done, she served Master Dave with his whiskey.

"Get my khebab in a package for me. I would like to get another bottle of whiskey and serve it at my hotel."

Dave exclaimed.

Okay, sir,I will be done in a jiffy."

The waitress said so and went to do what was said by the Master.

************

Madam Charlotte and one old friend of hers, Madam Veronica, a wealthy woman of esteemed social standing, were engaged in a lively conversation at the luxurious gathering. They delved into the intricacies of high society, sharing their experiences and exchanging tidbits of gossip.

Amidst their animated discussion, their attention was caught by a figure entering the room. Dave, dressed impeccably but lacking the opulence associated with their circle, made his way through the crowd.

Intrigued by his presence, Madam Veronica couldn't help but ask Madam Charlotte, "Is that not your daughter's husband, dear? He seems quite confident and well-mannered."

Madam Charlotte, taken aback by the assumption, quickly dismissed it with a wave of her hand. "Oh, no, my dear Veronica, you must be mistaken. How can such a poor man be my son-in-law?"

Madam Veronica, slightly puzzled, raised an eyebrow. "But he carries himself with such grace and poise. Are you sure?"

Madam Charlotte chuckled, a hint of condescension in her tone. "Absolutely sure, my dear. Nelson Cruz is my son-in-law, a man of great wealth and prestige.

The gentleman you see before us is Dave, a charming individual but certainly not worthy of being associated with our esteemed family."

Madam Veronica, now understanding the intended undertone, joined in Madam Charlotte's laughter, though her smile held a hint of superiority. "Ah, I see. It's fascinating how appearances can sometimes deceive us."

The conversation continued, shifting towards tales of extravagant vacations, designer wardrobes, and exclusive parties. They reveled in the display of their wealth and influence, their words dripping with undertones of elitism.

"I've been observing him, and I think he has a special role to play as the President's son."

Madam Veronica spoke with caution.

"God forbid," Madam Charlotte said, cursing.

"That man you see there was just my house servant; he was just boasting about himself with my beautiful daughter in order to gain pride."

Madam Charlotte, savoring the taste of her expensive wine, couldn't help but bask in the glow of her daughter's marriage to Nelson Cruz. She relished the envy that their union brought from others in their social circle, reveling in the power and prestige it afforded her.

"Well,if you say so, but think twice about what you're doing, my dear friend."

Madam Veronica said with a smirk

"There's nothing to think about, my dear; my family has everything needed in life, so there's nothing to worry about."

Madam Charlotte spoke boastfully.

The two women continued to enjoy the palatable meal, still smiling and making plans about their wealthy status.

Just as they were about to leave the table,a voice echoed from behind.

"Madam Charlotte, Mad Veronica".

The person said it in a soft tone.

They both turned, and it was Alice.

"Wowwww, Alice?"

Madam Charlotte said with a pause.

"I thought she wasn't present at the gathering".

Madam Veronica added

"Greetings to you, my Moms."

Alice eagerly said so, smiling and chuckling as well.

"Greetings to you too, our daughter. How's life?"

Madam Charlotte said it with a fake smile.

"Ermm,I saw you two having a meal, so I decided to come over and greet you when you're done with your food. Life, as you said, is pretty good and smooth."

Alice smiled again.

"Hmmmm, thank goodness,I'm glad you got the urge to come over to say "hello".

"Extend our greetings to your Dad,my long-time crush."

"Crush?"

Alice said this in shock.

Madam Veronica's laughter echoed in the room as she continued to speak.

"You're just a kid, nevermind sweetheart."

Madam Veronica said this and beamed.

"Tell your Dad that Madam Veronica missed him, and I will also be seen at his abode within the next 48 hours."

She said this and adjusted herself in the dress she wore.

"I will inform my Dad,he couldn't come over because he's having a serious meeting with the other companies that he's signed under as a manager."

"I know, right?"

Madam Charlotte chipped in; she was feeling jealous and had wished Madam Veronica could cut Alice's words short and let her leave.

"Take care, sweetheart; we have an appointment with someone, so we have to go."

Madam Charlotte said and took a glance at her expensive wrist watch.

"It's getting to 6 O'clock in the evening, and my driver is almost on his way to pick me up."

"Okay Madam Charlotte ,but ain't you moving from her with Nelson Cruz?"

Alice asked.

"Nelson Cruz has his work driver and the type of car he wants; his driver will be here soon when he calls for him."

Madam Charlotte said and took her bag off the table.

"Goodbye Alice, the only princess of his Dad." Madam Veronica said

"It's quite sad that I saw her with that thing named Dave. She must be blinded by love, and she's going to cry."

Madam Charlotte muttered to herself and said goodbye.

Alice watched them leave before she took a deep breath.

"Why do rich people judge the poor by the way they look?"
