Cassandra stared at the door through which Kade walked out in shock, and then at the bloody paper on the floor and then at the $2 million check that felt like a big slap to her face.

In the following second, anger replaced shock. Her finger curled tightly into fist.

Her jaw clenched.

"That ingrate—"

She expected Kade to take the cheque immediately. $2 million was a huge amount most people couldn't reject especially for someone who just got released from the prison but Kade had just rejected it like her offer was insignificant. The rejection was a huge blow to her pride.

Jack adjusted the belt into the loop of his pants with a steady hand. "Sure he won't cause any trouble? He didn't take the money."

"He won't." She bit out between tightened jaws, her expression hard. "He is nothing to worry about. He just came out from the prison. He has no place to stay and he would come crawling back begging for a space if he hasn't yet..."

She snatched her phone on the desk.

"The only place he can go is my family house." She said convincingly.

Jack gently reached for her hand. She took the phone from her and dropped it on the desk. He closed the little gap between them and whispered to her in a soft romantic voice.

"You don't need to worry about him." He whispered. "Kicking him out of your life is the best decision for us. We'll finally be together without any issues."

Cassandra smiled lightly, melting into his arm like it was her comfort.

"What if he comes back?" Cassandra asked, her voice softer, carrying an edge of concern.

"He will. He's just angry at the moment about everything. When he comes back, he'll take the money and he'll be kicked out finally."

He wrapped his arms around her waist, his smile all over the place. "We have a wedding to plan. We should be more concerned about that."

Cassandra breathed softly.

Jack pulled her to his chest. He gently removed a strand of her hair from her face.

"You're right," She cooed, "we should focus on the wedding and forget about things that don't matter."

"Right." Jack nodded with a sharp smirk. He leaned in gently and planted a kiss on her lips. Then he leaned into it. It wasn't the kind of gentle kiss. It was rough and possessive like she was a thing of use. And yet her as Jack's lips lingered, her gaze darted to the divorce paper signed in blood on the floor.

Killian arrived at St. Augustus private hospital. He took in deep breath, remembering his transformation in the prison rather than bothering over Cassandra's betrayal and her family's lies.

The first day in the prison was hell; He was bullied, every day he received beatings. Broken arms, dislocated joint..he was the prison prey and he continued being it for a year.

One day for the first time, he tried to fight against the bully, he was beaten into unconsciousness. He woke up in the prison infirmary.

Second year in the prison, he began training with the determination to stop being a punching bag to the inmates.

"You have the fire in you, kid," The old man everyone calls uncanny Xander because doesn't speak to anyone in the prison, always sitting quietly at the prison corner spoke to him for the first time. "but you're just training to protect yourself. Train with passion."

"Then teach me to train with passion," Kade had said with fire in his eyes to end the bullying.

And that was how he became the old man's disciple. Master Xander taught him ancient fighting techniques the martial arts world had forgotten, medicine in a way that transcend modern ideology and principles.

He leveled through the Golden Core Realm in in three months with relentlessly training.

In one year, he advanced to the Nascent soul realm.

And the Soul transformation in two years.

It took him four years to move from the Dao Saint Realm to the Immortal Sovereign Realm.

"It usually takes one hundred years for a beginner to attain the Immortal Sovereign Realm, but you achieved it in five years," Master Xander had told him, impressed by his determination. "You are truly special, Kade."

And Kade was learning how to balance his energy flow. He succeeded in five years, and anyone who was foolish enough to go into first with him end up beaten badly. His fame spread through the prison and everyone feared and respected him.

Before Kade left Deadmoo, Master Xander mysterious vanished without any words.

Kade searched for him everywhere in the prison but he couldn't find him. But he wasn't too worried. A man like Master Xander couldn't be harmed easily.

Killian walked over to the receptionist desk, a young woman sat behind, her focus on a computer in her front, her fingers danced across the key. The title; RECEPTIONIST CHIEF was printed on her badge.

"Good afternoon," Kade greeted and said directly. "I'm asking of Elena Carrington. Tell her Kade Crowe is here."

The receptionist Chief looked up from her computer, her finger paused on the key. She looked at Kade with a deep frown tightening her brow.

Kade was still wearing the same simple plain clothing from the prison.

She looked at Kade from head to toe and immediately write him off as insignificant immediately.

She rolled her eyes on him.

"Mrs. Carrington? The owner of the hospital?" She sized him up. " Who are you? And what business do you have with her?"

"Something personal between Mrs. Carrington and me." Killian said firmly. "You don't have any business with that. Just inform her Kade Cr..."

"Excuse me!" The receptionist cut him off with a hiss, irritation flickered across her feature. Behind the desk, her title carried authority and she carried herself with every bit of ego. She won't tolerate someone crawl out from whatever trash and speak to her in a way that didn't suit her. "Who do you think you are?" Her voice was loud, making heads turn to her. Whispers spread slowly among the waiting clients.

"Do you have a problem with that," Kade raised a brow, his voice calm despite the receptionist hostility. "directing me to meet your Boss?"

A sharp laughter escaped her laughter that sounded like glass shattering. Her lips pouted in disgust.

"And you think you're worthy of sharing a room with Mrs. Carrington? Someone like you." She waved at Killian like he was nothing more than an speck of stain under her heels.

She completely dropped off all professional acts.

"I have seen beggars sneak the security to beg but a confident one just crawled out of his his today claiming to have an appointment with Mrs. Carrington?" She shook her head in pure disdain. "Your cheap bold claim can't get you past this desk.

The lobby burst into laughter, the murmur spreading faster and louder.

Someone hospital staff employees and Clients walking in stopped to watch the unfolding scene.

The nearest receptionist, a younger girl tugged her sleeve, whispering something to her Kade couldn't hear clearly probably telling her to let confirm Kade's claim. The chief receptionist shook her hand off.

She spun to the door, her voice cutting loudly through the lobby in a commanding scream.

"Securities!!"

Two securities arrived at the scene, their boots smacking the marble. The anticipation and murmuring increased in the lobby.

"Look at him, a street rag claiming to have appointment with Mrs. Carrington." One man wearing expensive suit laughed.

"Doormat appointment maybe." Another chipped in mockingly.

The Chief receptionist snapped her finger at Kade.

"Take him out of this place." She spat. "If he resists, break his leg with his bragging mouth and drag him out of here. He's messing up the entire place already."

He pinched her nostril even though he didn't smell any foul odor just to further humiliate Kade.

Laughter rippled through the air, louder than the last.

Kade wasn't moved the slightest. Instead, a faint smirk tugged at the corner of his lips watching the receptionist in cold amusement.

"You're fired, young woman. I tell you."

"Who are you now? Mrs. Carrington's Uncle?" The receptionist laughed, her task completely abandoned.

Kade pulled simply pulled out his phone while the people around him doubled over with laughter.
