Chapter 2: Changed Son-in-Law

Upon hearing his wife's voice, Jayson felt a subconscious sense of happiness and even had the urge to comply with her command to crawl back, as she had instructed over the phone. However, as he realized the pathetic nature of his former self, he was shocked and understood why he was once known as the infamous trash of Jade City. With a firm resolve, Jayson abruptly ended the call and rode off on his scooter, ignoring the persistent buzzing of his phone in his pocket.

As he was about to enter a shop to purchase some boxer gear and accessories, his attention was drawn to a motorcade that had just pulled over, and men in suits were disembarking from the vehicles. Jayson paused involuntarily, observing as the last man stepped out, and he immediately recognized him.

Jayson's expression soured as he recollected something. Despite his apprehension, he approached Mr. Dawson, only to be intercepted by his bodyguard.

"What do you think you're doing? My boss isn't someone you can just approach," the bodyguard snapped at Jayson.

Seeing Mr. Dawson about to leave, Jayson shouted at the top of his lungs, "Mr. Dawson, if you step through that door, you'll die and lose everything you own!"

The bodyguards were all shaken by Jayson's words, regarding him like he was insane, while Mr. Dawson turned around with an angry expression.

"Your friend is lying to you, Mr. Dawson. You're not going in to sign the East Waterfall project; you're going to sign away all your assets," Jayson continued frantically.

Mr. Dawson's face grew even darker. "How does this commoner know what I'm here to do?" he wondered, but soon shook his head and gave an order.

"Let him go"

Mr. Dawson's furious bodyguards released Jayson. Despite Jayson's repeated warnings, Mr. Dawson chose to ignore him and proceeded to enter the club with his bodyguards, showing no signs of taking Jayson's advice seriously.

Jayson clenched his fists and pondered, "Can't anything that happened in the past be changed by me?" he mused in frustration. He shook his head pitifully.

Jayson felt that there was no need to go the extra mile for a stranger, and if he hadn't remembered how Mr. Dawson had died, he wouldn't have bothered about him at all. With a heavy heart, Jayson headed into the shop and purchased all the boxing kits he needed.

After receiving the package, he headed back home only to find the living room packed with people. The tense air was thick with hostility as he realized that the entire Wilson family, including his wife, was present.

"Trashy Jay, where have you been?" Mrs. Wilson was the first to speak, her tone laced with a hint of impatience.

Jayson felt the weight of their stares bearing down on him, and he couldn't help but feel a twinge of pressure. If he were to be his former self, he might have fallen to his knees before them, but now he simply shook his head, feeling like a joke.

Jayson responded calmly, "Is that how you should welcome me?" The Wilson family members present were shocked by his bland reply.

Elena stood up and shouted, "What did you just say, Jayson?" Jay looked at Elena, his former self-love, and felt disappointed. He realized that apart from being the number one beauty of Jade City, she had no other qualities.

"Elena, is that how you speak to your husband?" Jayson asked. His response was like an explosive bomb that plunged the living room into an eerie silence, leaving the Wilson family members speechless with widened eyes.

Previously, Jayson was intimidated by Elena and would avoid looking at her. He felt like a mouse in front of a cat when he was around her. But something seems to have changed.

"I already warned you, Elena, that poor people often have a hidden agenda. They not only take advantage of others but also have a false sense of pride. You should divorce this man as soon as possible," Lucy said, her voice filled with anger.

Jayson responded with a cold glare and a snort. "Lucy, if Elena hadn't begged and pleaded with me, do you think I would have ever considered marrying into your stinky family?"

The entire Wilson family felt their anger rising at Jayson's insulting words. Daniel quickly stood up, rolled up his sleeves, and couldn't bear to sit idly by while Jayson continued to disrespect his family.

Daniel walked menacingly towards Jayson, his tone cold as he demanded, "What did you just say, Trashy Jay?"

Jayson, who would have cowered before Daniel in the past, raised an eyebrow nonchalantly and retorted, "Are you deaf? If you are, you should seek medical attention. Don't display your deficiency in front of me."

Daniel's laugh was bitter and angry, stunned that the person he had once been able to easily intimidate was now standing up for himself.

Daniel's bloodshot eyes blazed with fury as he roared, "You have angered me!" With a clenched fist, he charged towards Jayson, but the latter snorted coldly and met Daniel's attack head-on.

Jayson unleashed a flurry of punches, not holding back in the slightest. Daniel fell heavily to the ground, crying out in pain.

Ignoring Daniel's cries, Jayson mounted over him and continued pummeling him with punches. The Wilson family and their servants could hardly believe their eyes. After all, Jayson had always been the meek and gentle son-in-law who never fought back, even when bullied.

Mrs. Wilson, who had been in shock, finally regained her senses and shouted, "Enough!" She banged her walking stick on the ground and fixed a condescending glare on Jayson. "As of today, Jayson is no longer welcome as the live-in-son-law of the Wilson family," she declared coldly.

Lucy stood with her arms on her hips, a smug smile on her face as she spoke. "Trashy Jay, if you lick my shoes, I might consider asking my mother to forgive you." Jayson was head over heels in love with Elena, and she knew it. He would do anything for her, even jump off a skyscraper if she asked him to.
