CHAPTER 247

Charles spent a few hours with Bob and Charlie, eating with them and buying them things. He parted with them in the evening.

As Charles was walking back home, he thought back about his life. Many years ago, when he was very young, he was alone. Even after these years, that didn’t seem to have changed as he didn’t have anyone that would walk beside him.

Charles was aimlessly walking, and he noticed a few men trying to look from an old beggar. They managed to take more than a hundred dollars from the beggar, but they still wanted more, and they began to rip his clothes, trying to see if he was hiding the money elsewhere.

The beggar was old and weak, so he couldn’t fight back against the two youngsters.

Charles approached from behind and grabbed their necks. They couldn’t move their necks, not even a little.

“Give his money back,” Charles uttered, putting a bit more strength into his grip, and the youngsters quickly dropped the money. Charles then let go of them, and they ran away pretty
