Chapter 1
PROLOGUE
The Myers clothing brand was one of most popular brands in the world. The members of the Myers family were also well-respected because of their philanthropic works. Even the minister and the governor would give appointments to Gregory, their family head. They weren’t the type to have the best seats in the theater but would reserve the whole theater itself if they decided to watch a movie outside, even though they had a home theater. Such was the stature the Myers enjoyed.
With Myers brand worth over 20 billion dollars, it was only natural for the family members to have millions sitting in each of their bank accounts. Well, all except one. They treated every other family member well, except for one, their one-and-only son-in-law, Carlos Wallace.
The reason for treating him so poorly was because during a nation-wide fashion event, his whole family was invited to grace the stage. As he and his family of in-laws were on their way, he unintentionally ended up stepping on top of his mother-in-law’s long prom dress and made her pathetically fall forward and break her nose in front of thousands.
Though everyone acted like they forgave him in the beginning, they began to reveal their true intentions as time passed.
Carlos received three employee of the year awards at Myers Headquarters before he caught Gregory’s attention and decided to get his daughter married to him, especially because Carlos didn’t have any family, so he could always live with Gregory’s daughter and take care of her and her children obediently.
Carlos had no idea before the marriage that the marriage contract was more like a slave contract. Not only had the Myers stopped giving him salary for his work, his wife didn’t even let him touch her, giving the excuse that she was forced to marry him when in fact she had completely agreed to marry him when he had asked her before the marriage.
In just sixteen months, Carlos had been turned from an alpha male to a depressed beta by everyone in the family, except maybe one. He had been labeled as useless and worthless time and again as his in-laws assumed authority over him in almost everything. If he wanted to spend a dollar, he needed to get permission from his mother-in-law. If he wanted to enter his wife’s room, he needed to get permission from his mother-in-law. If he wanted to roam the mansion freely, he needed to get permission from his mother-in-law. Heck if he wanted to scream, he needed to get permission from this mother-in-law, which she would never allow, of course.
With his married life already being so pathetic as it was, he still had the hope that his wife would one day recognize his efforts and take him closer, but she not only betrayed his hopes but shat on them by bringing some random hulking dude named Andres over to the home and even took him into her room. Though she said Andres was only a friend, Carlos wasn’t blind or stupid. He demanded she send Andres away, but then the Myers family had their butlers gang up on Carlos and beat him until his knees were broken by Andres. He was then banished to the old abandoned cottage that was in the southern side of the mansion.
He wasn’t given any money or food but only a bag of seeds and was told to cultivate food for himself if he wanted to survive. However, how could he work with broken knees when he wouldn't even be able to stand?
With both his heart and body broken, Carlos decided to give up on everything. He just let himself rot in the cottage, without drinking water or eating anything. His only food was air for the first couple of weeks. And then, someone began to throw food in through the window. They were fresh vegetables, but without knowing who gave the food, he didn’t want to eat it. Even pizza boxes were thrown inside, and pizzas from Rye’s Pizzas were his favorite just like they were his wife's. The hunger was too strong, and the temptation was even stronger, but he didn’t touch the food or the water bottles. He watched the vegetables shrivel and shrink, and ants lining up to the pizza boxes and taking dried food away right before his eyes. He didn’t care for the food because he didn’t care for his life anymore. He had given up on everything. He just wanted to die.
On the 41st day after he was thrown in the cottage, he had the feeling that it was gonna be his last day. He wasn’t sad because he had no one to call a family. His only regret, however, was that he wasn’t able to pay the Myers back for everything they had done to him.
“I don’t wish this kind of death to fall even upon my enemies. What have I done to deserve this?” he cried out with the last bits of energy left in his dried-up throat before closing his eyes for the last time. A tear carrying all of his shame and regrets escaped from the corner of one of his eyes.
His heartbeat slowed down bit by bit. His pulse also weakened to the point it couldn’t be felt.
He was a step away from giving up his ghost. His dullening ears still caught the sound of the cottage’s door opening, and then something bit his neck.

THE RESUSCITATED SON-IN-LAW AUTHOR'S EPISTLE
THANK YOU:: The Resuscitated Son-in-law… I never thought this would be the first novel I ever get to finish, but I don’t regret it after writing the last few chapters. I fully dedicate my first completed work to my God, Lord Jesus Chirst. If it’s not for Him, I wouldn’t have come into existence, so this is just a little thank you to Him from the bottom of my heart. And then, I thank the readers for their support. A special thanks to the top gem supporters: Samuel Kalu, libertysomerville, and o4igins master. Also, I very much thank the reader ‘Sarah Neuser’ for her wonderful review. Your review definitely helped me keep the passion going, so you have my humble appreciation. APOLOGY:: I apologize for not finishing this novel sooner, even though I could have. I fell into the trap of competing for competitions and ended up starting to write multiple novels at the same time. I won’t say I regret that, but yeah, it’s been draining me for months. I will do my best to finish the remaining

THE RESUSCITATED SON-IN-LAW EPILOGUE
The next morning.Victoria woke up and did not receive a bed coffee. She went to the kitchen, only to find a letter there on the fridge.Cassey had written a letter and disappeared. In the letter, she thanked Victoria for her care, and apologized for leaving this way because she knew Victoria wouldn’t let her go otherwise.“The bats must have really scared her,” Victoria couldn’t really blame Cassey, but she was still angry that Cassey left without even telling directly to her face. “If she comes back running after a few months, I won’t take her in.”On the other hand, Gregory, having lost his argument with Victoria the previous night, brought a black magician to chase the bats away. However, they didn’t know this black magician was a fake. But that would probably be not proven because the bats would no longer attack the mansion from here onward.Sofia told her mother to prepare her multiple masks, one of which looked like Cassey, and others that looked like different people, including

THE RESUSCITATED SON-IN-LAW CHAPTER 253
Many minutes passed since Sofia and others got stuck in the smelly basement filled with rat poop and what not. Moreover, these rats were the size of cats. From having eaten all kinds of roots and seeds in the garden, they grew very bulky, and they did not fear these four humans. They were more arrogant than the Myers themselves, as if they were the real owners of this place! As everyone waited with bated breaths, about an hour or so later, the music stopped. The sound of bats leaving reached their ears.“Did they leave?” Sofia wondered. She told Cassey to check on it, but Cassey was still feeling her wounds. She refused to go out. They waited a few minutes before coming out. To their relief, the bats were gone, and so did the guitar, but they didn’t care about the guitar.“Our mansion must be cursed,” Victoria looked at Gregory. “Do something.”“What do you want me to do? Bring some black magicians?” he yelled in frustration.“I don’t know! Just make sure they won’t even come near our

THE RESUSCITATED SON-IN-LAW CHAPTER 252
In the middle of the night, Sofia was rolling around and slapping her arms every now and then because bugs were biting her. There was no fan or AC in this cottage. All she had was a hand fan, and her arms had grown heavy from waving the fan. Now, she was completely drenched in sweat, and this made it all the more difficult for her to properly sleep. She got up from the couch and shook her dress before walking out of the cottage. She could see the mansion in the distance. The words her mother told her a day ago came to her mind.“After the wedding was stopped, we didn’t care about anything. But your sister went to the catering guys and told them to give the food to the homeless. They went and freely distributed the food throughout the city in our family’s name,” Victoria showed the details in the newspaper. “This is good for us because the public opinion will surely improve after this incident. We’re doing our best to make those videos Carlos showed at the wedding are fake. Even if som

THE RESUSCITATED SON-IN-LAW CHAPTER 251
After shooting Carlos eight times, Sofia ran away from the scene. Not only were there multiple witnesses, there was also a camera recording of the scene, which was provided as evidence to the police before the Myers family could do anything about it. So, the police began to search for Sofia everywhere. While Sofia was on the run, Carlos Wallace a.k.a, Charles Wallace was officially declared dead. And all those who knew him mourned his death. His story of Charles Wallace had become so popular it was printed in multiple magazines, and a popular writer had announced that he would be writing a biography of Carlos, and he requested some funds for researching in depth about the life of Carlos Wallace. Within just a few days, the author received thousands of dollars as funds from the interested public.Victoria and Gregory, on the other hand, publicly stated that they have nothing to do with their eldest daughter’s actions and did not support what Sofia had done. However, in secret, they mai

THE RESUSCITATED SON-IN-LAW CHAPTER 250
Sofia was too stunned to even talk or blink for that matter. Seeing Carlos had frozen her to the core.“C-Carlos!” Victoria shouted like a pig walking on broken glass. “Why are you disguised as Charles? What have you done to him? Where is he?”“He’s… standing right before you,” Carlos raised the face mask in his hand. “I’m Carlos. And I’m Charles.”Victoria’s eyes grew wider than the seas. The wine glass in her hand fell.“I’m Carlos Wallce. I’m Charles Wallace,” Carlos added. “I’m the guy that has been treated like a trash, not worth her time, by Sofia no matter how much I tried to please her, and I’m also the guy that she has fallen for because she believed she deserved me when I was a gambler who earns in millions every match.”Sofia still kept stupidly staring in gut-busting shock. (No! No! No! This can’t be true! This must be a dream! It has to be!) She refused to accept what was transpiring right before her eyes. However, why wasn’t the nightmare ending? Why was Carlos still sta

Great book. To better understand some of the minor characters in this book though and the roles they play, I highly recommend reading Savvy-Son-in-Law along with this book as some of the minor characters here are major characters in that book. Glad I have been read the other book before this one.
