THE RETRIBUTION

CHAPTER 9

“Please help me…” the voice cried out

Patrick stood silent on the phone because he knew people could scam him or could be on of Fredric’s plane against his boss. 

Waiting for a while before talking he asked 

“Who are you?” Patrick asked 

Before he could ask the next question the other party hanged up.

The voice of the person kept ranging in his head.

He kept pondering over it 

“ Who could it be?” he asked but there was no answer to his question

“Could it be his boss or Claribel” he wondered 

He hurriedly went inside his car and drove off speedily. If anyone had cross his path the person would have been a dead meat or disable.

In the car he tried calling his boss to but was not going through. Claribel has no phone which he can call her through to find out what was going on.

“Has Fredric and his gang attacked the house again “

Patrick was asleep when Fredric and his gang attacked the house so he didn’t hear anything that happened.  Dragon informed him the next day which made him so angry and embarrassed.

He was embarrassed because he couldn’t protect his boss and dear friend.

“I won’t forgive Fredric if anything happens to General.  He has bitten more than he can chew and he will spit it all out in just one second.” He murmured 

He drove an hour before getting to the house of his boss. Hurriedly he rushed upstairs to knock on his door 

“Boss….Boss…Boss” he called

There was no answer he pushed the door so hard until the door was opened. 

When he went in he couldn’t find his boos on the bed. He checked his bathroom but he wasn’t there.

Patrick’s heart started beating so fast

“ Is all my fault I should have come earlier” he cried out

He tried calling the number which called him earlier but it wasn’t going through he had no option but to ask the present security personnel around 

“hey, have you seen General Dragon anywhere?” he asked in a rush

“ Yeah Sir. He drove out with Miss Claribel”. 

“When was that? What time? Has it been long?”

The guard seeing how worried Patrick answered questioned him

“ Sir you sound serious. Hope everything is fine?”. 

Patrick didn’t want to make things obvious so he turned to leave without uttering a word. 

As he turned to enter the house he hears a car drove in.

The handsome dragon and his girlfriend were in the car.

Humbly Dragon got off and opened the car for his life saving jewel.

Patrick looked at them and sighed in relieved

“Thank God” he murmured

Dragon and Claribel walked to where Patrick was standing before Dragon could a word Patrick spoke

“Boss am sorry for taking long outside. I was….”

“You don’t need to explain yourself to me Pat. I wanted to give Claribel a ride myself.” Dragon interrupted

“but you could have called me when you wanted to go out.” 

“ Im good. You sound so worried is everything alright?” asked Dragon who was able to sense danger in Patrick’s voice.

“Yes boss…” Patrick replied

General Dragon doubted him but pretended he is ok infront of Claribel and the other security personnel.

Claribel went in with James leaving Dragon behind

“I have some stuffs in the car bring them out.” Dragon ordered one of the guards 

He joined the other two.

The guard entered the room with stuffs as he was ordered to do

“You went to the boutique I guess? But please try to call me next time when you want to go out. Remember am here to protect you that is what best friends do.” Said Patrick

Dragon shook his head and smiled

“ You have your personal stuffs to attend to so don’t  worry about me I can take care of myself and Claribel.” 

Patrick chuckled and left to his room.

“what is going on who called me earlier? Who at all could it be? Should I inform Dragon about this?” he asked himself questions which he had no answer to 

Suddenly he saw someone standing in front of his door

“What is bothering you? You can speak to me. You look so worried.” Dragon questioned

“ Eerrrrr….mmmmm is nothing.” 

Patrick didn’t want Dragon to know his relationship with Fredric in anyway.  He was going to protect him and Claribel from the hands of Fredric at all cost.

“Are sure is nothing? Mmmmm ok I get it. Since when did we start hiding stuffs from each other? It’s obvious I trust someone who has no trust for me.” Dragon said this and turned to leave Patrick alone 

Hearing such words from Dragon hurt Patrick so much. He trusted him so much. To calm him down he called

“ Wait boss…..”

Dragon stopped and asked 

“ Did I leave anything behind?” he questioned ad he turned to look at Patrick who had also stood up from his seat.

“I didn’t want to worry you about this since you have a lot to deal with about Claribel’s issue but I guess I was wrong. I’m sorry for making you think I don’t trust you boss.”

Dragon smiled and walked to Patrick he tapped him on the shoulder 

“ We are not just workers but brothers. I really appreciate everything you have done for me since we met. And I love you just like more than a friend. I wouldn’t hide anything from you so don’t do the opposite it hurts me.” He smirked to hide his feelings from Patrick 

Dragon words was very touching which made Patrick teary. For him to hide it he hugged Dragon and whispered to him

“ I love you too boss.”

Dragon tapped him on the back and said

“Don’t cry little baby.” He teased

They both burst out in laughter 

“Now tell me what is wrong with you?” Dragon asked again

“ I had a call earlier from an unknown person. It was a lady who was crying  for help. When I tried to find out who it was the call ended.” Patrick explained

Dragon smiled as he nodded his head

“ I had the same call earlier today ………..”
