Taking a calming breath, Andrew tries to figure out everything that was happening, but at that moment, it still seems all confusing to him.

He stares blankly at the man of which he has no memories of, yet fragments of forgotten moments flicker to life with every passing second. And then, he sinks back into the chair.

If there is one thing that he is now sure of, it's the fact that these people have got the wrong person. But then… who could this person be?

He knows without fact that he is definitely going to get his revenge after all this is over, but at the moment, he is not in control of the situation, and silence at that moment most definitely was golden, judging by everything that was happening.

And when he finally speaks, his voice is subtle, too subtle and calm like a silenced wind.

“I didn't do anything, Yes, I must have crossed paths while I was in the military, but I can't remember details about it cause… Cause I most definitely would.”

He hadn’t raised his voice at all, but his message had been as clear as day: he isn't going to take the blame for something he didn't do or has no idea about.

No one would!

“That is not my freaking question!” The man who looks like their boss fires back. “Now, answer me… Why did you double cross the boss? And don't lie that it wasn't you, because we saw you do it.”

The man stresses angrily in a manner that suddenly provokes him.

“What?" He looks at the man, puzzled. “ I am sure you all are mistaken, and trust me you all would be sorry when you find out the truth."

For the first time since all of this madness started, the man stares at him quietly. He appears to think about something before stepping out.

Andrew can sense the silence in the room, and as he slowly becomes a part of it, he wonders if they are searching for him…

Probably, they might find him just in time before anything crazy happens, he hoped.

Beneath the table, his watch keeps beeping, soft and steady, like a ticking bomb no one in the room noticed. It is almost laughable how oblivious they were, completely unaware that with every beep, a storm is inching closer…and they are sitting right in its part.

But then, at that moment, the thought of his men finding him is far-fetched, so he has been eyeing the gun close to where the man was, his mind occupied with the thought of reaching it.

With his years at the military, he knows he can take all the men down so easily, there were just four of them. All he needs is to get his hand on the gun.

At that point, he is on the verge of losing whatever is left of his self control, and once that snaps, there's no going back.

Hs fist clenches at the very thought of it, a clear sign of how close he is to letting the anger consume him—and honestly, he's willing to let it.

The man walks back in with pictures and throws it right there on the table.

“Right there are pictures of you.” He eyes the pictures carefully, pointing a finger at Andrew.

Sure enough they were pictures of him, but with the advancement of technology is something Andrew can't trust easily.

He can feel a heavy thud in his chest as he stares at it. Anyone would have believed such an imposter.

Andrew, though speechless, wonders what was going on.

Is this a game to them? If it was, he definitely couldn't understand, and it provoked him even more.

He definitely was sinking deeper to a darker side of himself…

He can as well feel the anger and anxiety that come from all of the situations… the endless questions, and it leaves an absurd feeling in his soul, one he hadn't felt in a while.

Whatever it was, what it left at first was a bit of quietness that engulfed the entire room, and then followed by a low, chilling chuckle.

“You see, there is no way for you to deny it…You are lost for words,” the man says.

“I don't know who that is. I tell you again that you got the wrong person. Let me go now, and we can forget all this happened."

The other man from earlier frowns as he takes a forward. He must've been the one to call for the hit, but after Andrew has spoken, he appears to have a deeper knowledge about the situation.

There is no point in trying to wave the issue aside as all that is needed at this point is patience.

The man clearly isn't pleased, it is obvious from the blatant discomfort written all over his face.

Before he can say something more, someone, another man who seems to be the one leading the investigation cuts him off.

“That justifies nothing!” He snaps.

“But—" The other man tries intervening.

“No buts, and stay out of this." He ruled him off with a warning tone. He is mad at the entire situation and it is glaring from how he speaks.

“Can't you see he is trying to take us as fools?" He lets out a grunt that echoes through the room, followed by his fist banging on the table. “Even when all evidence points to him. Even when he is right there in the photograph!”

"I am sorry, But like—” he was about to explain.

"Save that for yourself! I'm calling the boss right now to tell them you raped her.”

"What?” Andrew grimaces at first. "I—”

He becomes even more confused and short of words confused as the words finally register…

“I can fix it. Just let me go, and I promise… I'll fix it.” As he speaks, everyone turns to look at her… even the man who has tried to help, still standing not too far away.

“How?" The man asks, confused.

The room is shrouded in tension, thick enough that everyone holds their breath, waiting for what comes next.

“Trust me, I'm the last person you want to mess with,” he mutters, his voice warningly low, but steady. “I get it, you're all in a bad spot. Let me go, and I'll help you find whoever you're really after. If I were you, I'd make hay while the sun is still up.”

Andrew steals a glance at the man and when he sees his complacent look, his heart sinks for him. For their sake, he hopes they listen to him and let him go.

Some facts are just too hard to accept, and that's exactly where Andrew is now. As the weight of reality sinks in, he keeps his face blank, but beneath it all is pure shock.

“Wait, what?" The word leaves one of the men's lips, shredding the temporary cocoon of silence that has once envelope the room.

“Do you think we are stupid? We should let you leave, so what?" In that moment, more words stumble out of his lips, completely unsure of what to say or do.

You can't blame him, blame the chilling aura that this man they've captured is emitting.

On the other hand, Andrew argues with himself endlessly, but the harsh truth remains. None of this would be happening if he has just stayed at work…or anywhere else but his other mansion where he is abducted.

If only they'd just grant him one phone call!

“Look, I don't know what all this is about, but trust me…” he tries to talk more sense into them. “Trust me, you really don't want to—”

Before he can finish, a fist slams into the side of his face!

The sharp metallic taste of blood fills his mouth, and rage unlike never before bubbles inside him as he curses under his breath.

“It is done. You don't make the decision for the U S… It is all mine to decide your fate because from henceforth it is in our hands! Take him away!” The man orders.

******

In a secluded part of the apartment, Andrew lies by himself, furious. What is he now?

A prisoner?

It is confusing to see how fate changes quickly. One moment, he is enjoying the luxury of life, and the next, he is right here in the middle of where exactly.

It's been days now and his throat feels like a dried up river, parched and dry.

Two knocks, and one of the men from earlier walks into the room. He tosses the water to him and watches in amusement as Andrew scrambles to get it.

Uncapping the bottle, Andrew takes a gulp, frowns before spitting out the content in his mouth with fury. The content should be water, but it tasted like a dog's piss and death.

“What in the hell is that?” He wipes his mouth with the back of his hands and it draws out more laughter…

He clenches his fist, annoyed. At the moment, he didn't care what the repercussions might be, but he was sure as hell ready to pay the costly price but would be taking the scumbag along with him.

He exhales once, the air heavy with the rush of adrenaline surging through his veins.

The man from earlier, who has ordered him to be taken away, steps into the room again. “Leave us,” he orders again.

The other man walks out, but not without throwing a low grunt in Andrew's direction.

Frustrated, Andrew slams his fists against the table again, this time with raw, unchecked anger. He shuts his eyes and draws in a deep breath.

“What do you want?" He asks the man who is right there with him.

“Is that the way to speak to someone who saved your life?" he questions back.

“Well, just literally.” He blurts out.

"Just literally…Well, I just came to say I believe you, but regardless, none of those men outside does.”

Andrew has several thoughts running through his mind even as he eyes him, then the door. He can just hold him hostage until he escapes.

“I can tell what you are thinking but don't even think about it, for your own good…” the man speaks as if reading his mind. “You are here and they won't let you go till they get what they want.”

Andrew sighs. “I need to make a call. If you believe me, then I need to make one call.”

"Fine, just one call.” The man mutters looking around.

Soon, Andrew walks into another rather dark room that has the curtains drawn, blocking out any remaining source of light. it is the one that he has been interrogated the previous day.

Shutting the door behind them, the man stands manning the door while darting his eyes here and there.

“Be quick about it. I don't know why I am helping you but don't drag me into this as well."

“One call." Andrew whispers back, but from the corner the man can't see, Andrew's lips curl into a wicked smirk, aware of what he is about to do.

Rain still tapped the windows along with the tick of the clock but Andrew stood frozen, his jaw clenched so tightly it ached. His mind was rattled, this was definitely something and the empty spot where the car had been was a clue.He stared at the empty spot where the car had been minutes ago, its absence leaving a deep pain in his heart.“I can't believe all of this." He ran his hands over his face in disbelief as a surge of fury exploded in his chest as he turned and punched the nearest wall, the sharp pain grounding him just enough.“Goddammit,” he muttered, punching out a number on his smart military watch and dialing Mason's number. It rang once. Twice.“Mason here,” came the familiar voice.“I need you. Now. At Verizon. I think we’ve had a breach.”Silence for a second.“Breach?” He stalled for a minute. " What kind of breach?”“The kind I can't explain yet. But someone was here. I saw the shadow on the hallway feed. And now… nothing. They’re gone. I need you to lock down eve

  • Shadow And Truth

For some reason he couldn't just get it off his mind.“Something seems off…” He muttered, taking a step backward. For what felt like a minute of eternity he listened evenly. If he could hear anything with his years in the military, he would be able to pick any slight sound. Sighing he shrugged his shoulders, there was nothing afterall…There was nothing but solace and quietness that filled the room. There was no music playing, no soft hum of janitors working through their routine. Just the dull throb of the emergency lights and the faint creak of something far away. As he moved slowly towards the sounds, Andrew slowed his steps as he reached the fifth-floor landing, every muscle in his body tense at the anticipation for what was to comeSomething was off. He could feel it in the way the building was quiet, too quiet. And he couldn't let it go.He paused again near the fire exit d

The Streetlights cast it shimmering light right to where she took every breath and turned at every footstep. She sat at the far end of a dimly lit cafe, enough to be hidden from everyone else but him, her eyes kept flickering between the entrance and the half-empty cup in her hand. Soon, they left the detention facility behind as the car surged forward. Andrew barely noticed the passing scenery, or Mason's conversation with someone over the phone. Thoughts of what had just happened wouldn't leave his head. After a while, Mason turned slightly to face him and said, "Are you okay, Master? You seem... distracted.""Of course I am," Andrew snapped, and went on to tell him about the person Carl said was posing as him. Mason's eyes grew wider as he listened. "The impostor somehow knew, and then used my security codes before vanishing without a trace," Andrew finished in a low growl. "Without a trace," Mason repeated slowly. "Forgive me but I find that hard to believe. This misidentification thing is just an excuse if you ask me."Andrew nodded. Mason had just spoken his mind. "Yes... "I just asked that he reconfirm if we have the right person, there was no way I could have missed your name …” he sighs.
