CHAPTER 1

The siren of the colony, which had been dormant for some time, began to shriek suddenly.

It was the very first time that the sound reverberated throughout the entire colony as low class and middle class tier monsters successfully breached the barrier that protects the final frontier from the dominance of monsters.

It didn't take long for the screams of the colony's inhabitants to become the predominant sound in the environment of Espactra. It was far worse than a Holocaust to see people screaming for help and running for their lives as they were being persecuted.

In the nick of time, everyone started running for the crystal fortress, which the monsters couldn't get into, in the hopes of saving their lives. However, an additional explosion occurred, which resulted in the loss of many more innocent lives.

All of this transpired as a direct result of the manifestation of an S-tier monster that possessed the abominable characteristics of a human head attached to the body of a scorpion.

Its telson was the one that had been overpowered, which caused the destructive beams that were sweeping across the entire colony. And as it approached the crowd that was running towards the crystal fortress, its one and only objective was to actually destroy the crystal fortress.

And as the S-tier monster continued to cause mayhem and death among the populace, one of the people finally gathered up his courage and stood his ground, refusing to flee any longer. He could not bear to watch many more people die while doing nothing to stop it.

Therefore, even if it seemed impossible, he finally halted his feet from heading towards the crystal fortress to save himself. He immediately had to think of a way to get rid of the monster before it could even kill more people who were evacuating to the crystal fortress.

He then rushed inside an abandoned grocery mall to check on whatever pesticide he could use. Apparently, the only thing he could gather up were cedar oils.

“This will do.” He even made a remark after filling the entire tank of a backpack sprayer.

After that, he swiftly moved back to where the gigantic S-tier monster was having its rampage. He hasn’t even been gone a long while, but the monster was able to wipe out a great part of the whole colony.

He knew that if he didn’t act at once, the monster would completely obliterate the entire colony before his very eyes.

And so, before the monster could even launch another powerful and destructive attack, he immediately sprayed the cedar oil against the head that abruptly distracted the monster. Although it wasn’t like the attack would actually kill an S-tier monster right away.

Instead, the monster's telson shot a powerful beam through the sky, tearing a gaping hole in the atmosphere above everyone. The young man had no idea what had happened, but he knew he had to redirect his attention back to the monster.

The young man knew he couldn't stop his assault there. While the monster was preoccupied with the excruciating pain the cedar oil had caused its eyes, the young man went over to pick up the splintered rod.

It appeared as though he had picked it up at the exact right moment because the rod had a very pointed edge. The young man suddenly paused for a few seconds to consider his next course of action.

It would be a precarious move to instantly launch and skewer the rod through the monster but he finally took a mouthful of air in and finally launched forward.

The monster was so preoccupied with trying to remove the cedar oil from his face that it was completely blindsided when the young man launched his attack. The young man then pierced the rod with its sharp end, and judging by the monster's screams of agony, it appeared that his actions had the desired effect.

The young man kept his full weight behind his effort to drive the rod further into the monster's chest. The monster tried to shake the rod out of its body, but it was too late; the rod had already pierced all the way through its chest and done serious damage to its very core.

After that, the young man made a hasty escape from the monster as soon as he became aware of some strange behavior being exhibited by the monster. The monster’s entire body is gradually transforming into ash gray color, making it look like a stone.

And right in front of the young man's very eyes, the body of the S-tier monster exploded in an instant. Ashes from the fire rose into the sky, which was otherwise clear, and a light dusting of grains fell all over the young man.

However, just as when he thought that things were finally over, the young man’s attention was suddenly sparked by another round of the siren crying wildly again…

[About an earlier time before the great domination]

Espactra District Colony

Educational Institute

High School Building

The school bell rang louder than usual, indicating that the afternoon period was about to start. Students who would be caught roaming across the corridors without any urgent purpose would be sanctioned at the disciplinary office right away.

“How I hated that bell.” Yujin snarled silently after hearing the school bell. He was sleeping at the roofdeck when he heard that the bell for the afternoon class periods were about to begin shortly.

He had no other option but to finally go attend the class he always finds too boring to attend over and over. Yujin then began walking downstairs towards his classroom on the 3rd floor.

No one seems to be paying him any attention in fear that Yujin might instantly take them down. Everyone seems to fear him for being labeled as a delinquent student who had been previously sanctioned a couple of times.

If not for the influence of Yujin, who works at the state affairs department of Espracta, the educational institution would have long since kicked him out. Yujin has been particularly involved in many violent fights on and off the school grounds.

It no longer just soiled him alone but also the institution for all the records he had over the past years. This is the second time Yujin will have to retake his senior year.

Most of his original batchmates have long since graduated ahead of him. Some of them were already spread out around Espracta to help with the war against the monsters that were still aiming to completely dominate the entire world.

Meanwhile, Yujin, who had no complete care of the happenings from the rest of the world just sighed at the thought of coming into his boring first period which is the literature subject.

He found it overly pathetic to even study these lectures, knowing what the world needs to study now is all about martial arts in order to learn techniques to defend themselves from the monsters.

And as Yujin enters the classroom, he finds himself being the center of everyone’s attention once again. This isn’t even known to him. He knew very well that each of these eyes only represents a common thought, and that would be fear.

Fear that they would eventually have to endure being around the likes of him. Fear that something wrong would soon occur in his presence. And Fear that if none of these would happen, then perhaps he might just end up bullying him like he often does.
