Andrew stood up promptly and faced the entire group, his gaze scanning the three prospective investors. The power within him began to work to influence the three individuals.

"Alright, gentlemen, I'm here to give an overview of the companies owned by these three prominent and well-known entrepreneurs with us. The company operating in the crude oil sector is the main offer for potential investors. The company—"

"I agree." "So, I want to know what we're going to discuss here. I'm curious, what kind of offer does William want that he brought us this far?"

Abraham looked back and forth between Andrew and William. They were holding a meeting inside the yacht with six other people. William's eyes immediately signaled Andrew to execute the prepared plan.

Andrew's sentence was abruptly interrupted by Abraham, who raised his hand, followed by the other two investors. This certainly brought wide grins to the faces of William's three colleague

Even after the First vanished — unraveled by the chain and Margareth’s defiant touch — the walls seemed to breathe, like the tower itself hadn’t decided whether to collapse or continue. The green light from the chain had faded from brilliance to ember, still alive, but no longer wild. It pulsed gently now, like a heartbeat remembering how to slow down.Jerome lay on the floor, breath shallow, eyes wide but unfocused. His skin was pale with sweat, and his body trembled as though every muscle had been emptied and refilled with cold fire.Margareth didn’t leave his side. She held his head in her lap, brushing damp curls away from his forehead, whispering to him in a language they hadn’t used in years — not magic, not prophecy.Just comfort.Selene crouched nearby, her blade still unsheathed but slack in her hand. Rhydan stood with arms crossed, jaw clenched, eyes not on Jerome, but on the spot where the First had stood.Veyra leaned against the stone wall, blood on her lips and smoke in

The stairwell curved upward, narrow and quiet, each step carved not by hands but by memory. There was no torchlight, and yet everything was visible. The walls glowed faintly — not with light, but with recognition. Each step seemed to know who Jerome was. Or rather, who he had been.Jerome led the way.No one questioned it.Not because they trusted him — not anymore, not fully. But because no one else could walk where he had walked before. Even Veyra, silent now, kept behind Margareth. Her body was exhausted, her limbs trembling with each step, as if the Crown’s voice had left her brittle, barely stitched together.Halfway up, Selene stopped.“Do you feel that?” she asked softly.Jerome paused. He did.The staircase wasn’t just carved through stone. It was carved through him. With each step, he felt pieces of himself peel back. Regret. Pride. Memory. Not removed, but exposed — as if the tower required honesty before granting access to the top.Rhydan muttered, “If I see one more vision

The breeze had stopped entirely, not because the weather had shifted, but because the land itself was holding its breath. Even the birds had vanished — as if nature instinctively recoiled from what had just been said.“He’s waking now.”Veyra’s voice echoed, not aloud but deep in each of their minds, resonating like thunder inside a sealed chamber. And it wasn’t just prophecy. It wasn’t threat. It was memory crawling out of a locked cage.Jerome’s face had gone pale. His breath fogged the air even though the air wasn’t cold. The rest of the group stood in a loose circle around him — Margareth to his left, Selene gripping her blade to his right, and Rhydan a step behind him, arms crossed, flame hovering in each palm like a heartbeat ready to ignite.“What does that mean?” Selene asked, her voice low, sharp with unease. “Who’s waking?”Jerome didn’t answer.Couldn’t.He could still feel it — the ghost of the version she’d spoken of. The one he’d buried not in the world, but inside her.

Not calm — still. As if time had paused between one breath and the next. Jerome stood in the aftermath of Veyra’s touch, her hand still warm against his forehead though her body had stepped back. He had not moved, not spoken. His eyes were open, but they weren’t focused on anything in the present.Because Veyra hadn’t just touched him.She had opened something. And Jerome was falling inward. The world around him blurred. He didn’t stumble. He dropped — through thought, through time, through memory not entirely his. Light fractured, bled sideways. His name cracked and reassembled a dozen different ways in languages he didn’t speak. And then everything went dark.Until he landed. Not on ground, but on a floor made of gold. Not metal.Gold as in something revered. A place where every inch of space breathed intention. He stood in the center of a great hall — massive, spiraled, not built by mortal hands. Fire burned on water. Air shimmered without wind. And from the edges of the chamber, v

The voice inside the woman’s body wasn’t hers.It moved through her like wind through a cave — deep, endless, echoing off chambers no one had touched in centuries. Her lips moved, but the sound didn’t belong to a living thing. It was old. It was exact.Jerome felt every hair along his arms rise.“I was the first to crown you,” the voice said again, “and I will be the last to test you.”The gold in her eyes wasn’t magic. It was memory. And Jerome knew — even before the name formed on his tongue — who was speaking.“Veyra,” he whispered. The moment he said the name, a gust of hot wind spiraled from the earth, circling their group in a slow, tightening ring. The light dimmed again, even though no clouds passed the sun. It was like something in the atmosphere flinched.Rhydan growled, stepping forward. “She’s dead.”“No,” Jerome said. “She was sealed. By me. A long time ago.”Selene moved in beside Rhydan. “You sealed a bearer inside another bearer?”“No,” Jerome said softly. “I sealed th

Not white like before. Not gold like when Jerome first bound it to his soul. No — this light was green. Deep and alive. Verdant, almost pulsing like the roots of some long-forgotten forest had grown under his skin. The kind of green that whispered not of decay, but of rebirth. Dangerous rebirth.Jerome didn’t move.He couldn’t.Margareth stepped closer, slowly, cautiously, like one might approach someone standing too close to the edge of a cliff. “Jerome, talk to me.”He didn’t answer. Not right away.Because he didn’t hear her voice — not fully. In his ears, something else was speaking. Not words, exactly. But images. Roots growing backward. A mountain being buried instead of formed. Names that had no letters, only emotion. The language of the Crown. The original one. And it wasn’t just whispering to him. It was recognizing him.The woman still lay unconscious, her breathing shallow. Selene crouched beside her, checking for signs of damage, but her hands trembled. Rhydan stood a few
