001.

With his high level of concentration, Felix was able to shut the noises in the background. All his focus was on the chunk of metal before him. He was making finishing touches to his project when a hand swiped the entire metal down to the ground and it disembodied into pieces.

The sound of the shattering metal parts drew everyone's attention to them.

His shock stripped blood off his face as he stared at his project that took him weeks of sleepless night and concentration.

"No ..no.. no", he shook his head.

He looked up slowly, his gaze meeting Kelvin's face who was smirking down at the piece of metal. Kelvin looked up and smiled.

"Oh my.. was that your project?" He asked with a pout and chuckles emanated from all angles.

Felix balled his fist, clenching his jaw, anger filled his core.

"It was trash anyway, I was saving you the disgrace. Mrs. Gladys would rather see something better, trust me", he said and everyone laughed again.

"What did I ever do to you Kelvin?" Felix asked in anger, "do I not stay clear from your path enough".

"Oh please ", Kelvin rolled his eyes.

"My path includes everywhere my eyesight can reach and this class includes my path", Kelvin glared at him.

Felix darted his eyes at the clock. He had an hour left before Mrs Gladys would walk in.

How was he supposed to put together a project of two weeks in an hour? But he bought the idea.

He ignored kelvin and crouched to the ground. He began picking the parts up.

Kelvin laughed, "let's see how fast you can put them back together huh?" He smiled.

"Hey everyone! Get out your clocks, the great Felix Stark is about to make history!", He announced as everyone got out their phones.

"Get started already. Mrs. Gladys would be here any minute, unless you want to fail", he whispered to him.

Felix picked them all up but he noticed some parts had cracked, there was no fixing it.

He thought about how hard he and his mom worked to get the money to buy these parts. They weren't even brand new. They were used parts and now it has shattered, as well as his grades in this project.

"Seems like your ready to get an F", Kelvin feigned a gasp.

"Get started already", someone yelled from behind.

"I bet he wasn't even the one that made it in the first place", another said..

"What was his project meant to be to begin with? It looked so ugly", said a female and everyone laughed.

He checked the parts frantically, most of them, especially the plastic part had cracked, his anger skyrocketed..

"Why did you do this Kelvin? The project is due for submission today? What did I ever do to you?!!!!" He yelled completely frustrated.

Kelvin slapped him immediately, "don't you ever raise your voice at me you filthy thing", he spat.

Felix who's anger was fully blown couldn't resist.

He gave him back a heavier measure.

Everyone gasped as the sound echoed all around.

"Felix is surely dead now"

"He dared slap Kelvin. How foolish!"

"Poverty does begat foolishness",

Everyone said their mind but Felix cared less. He had gotten just enough insult from this one guy. He was beaten up most of the time but he loved this robotics class and it meant a lot to him.

It was his dream to venture into the tech world full of robots and programmed A.Is

Kelvin held his cheek as he laughed, "I see you've gotten braver than I remember over the weekend but certainly foolish than a mad man. You'll get your consequences in full Stark".

Mrs. Gladys walked in at that moment, surprisingly showing up earlier than expected.

"What's going on here?" She asked

Kelvin smiled, "nothing ma'am, you looked incredibly beautiful today. I trust you had a lovely weekend", he winked and the older woman blushed.

Everyone worshipped Kelvin Cooper. His dad was the richest in their little town and one of the school's board of directors.

He had been a spoilt child and everyone knew but with wealth, one could buy other's conscience and truth.

Mrs. Gladys gaze met with a raging Felix who had a junk of metal before him. She scoffed and walked up to him.

"I hope this is not the project I assigned to this class?" Her disdain for Felix was evident in her voice.

"Mrs. Gladys I.."

"Yes or no?" She interrupted his explanation.

"I had made it but .."

"Yes or no, Felix?"

Everyone chuckled lightly and Felix boiled in anger. He glanced at kelvin who gave him the middle finger.

"If you won't answer, you better leave the class", she noted and the tears finally welled up in his eyes.

She had never liked him and he knew it. None of his projects were ever good in her eyes, she gave him bad grades or average whenever she was in a good mood, but it was senior year and he really wanted a good report and something to show as he was planning to get into the best university through a scholarship.

"No", he finally uttered.

"You're above projects and assignments Felix Stark?" She asked.

"I did it but Kelvin ruined it!" Felix bursted out.

Mrs. Gladys shared a glance at Kelvin.

"Ms. Gladys you know I never will, not to mention how he slapped me this morning", Kelvin feigned innocence.

"You did what?" Gladys turned to Felix in shock.

"He slapped me first", Felix cried in defence.

"You were given a chance to study at a prestigious school as this one through a scholarship, though I'm yet to see the brains, but you should make use of it Felix Stark, remaining useless for the rest of your life is a waste. Now leave my class", she instructed.

"Ma'am please. Give me an extension. I'd fixed it back together", Felix pleaded.

"Get out!" She yelled and he knew pleading was useless.

He picked his backpack and opened it up, he poured the parts into it and stepped out of the class with tears in his eyes.
