Mrs. Cora hates it when a car is moving in a high speed, it is always as if the car is going to have accident. She has cautioned Malam Yusuf most of the time to reduce his driving speed and he adheres to the instructions most of the time. Mrs. Cora tells Amir to sits down on the couch. Amir sits down, waiting for Mrs. Cora who had left the sitting room. Mrs. Cora enters the sitting room, holding a glass cup with her left hand. She gives the cup to Amir after she utters some words. Amir thanks her and collect the cup. It is a cupful of red wine. “Is it an alcoholic wine?” Amir said. “No.” “But you know that I like alcoholic wine.” “We don’t have such in this house. You have to manage this,” Mrs. Cora said, sitting on a couch close to where Amir is sitting.
