Mrs. Cora enters the sitting room. She had just returned from Silas’ house. She had gone there to warn him. She would have slap him if not that he left her inside the sitting room.

Mrs. Cora had wanted to carry a police officer along with her, but her husband wouldn’t allow her to do that. He pleaded on Silas’ behalf.

Mrs. Cora sits down on the couch for a few minutes before she leaves. She returns to the sitting room, holding a brown cup with her right hand. She sits down on the couch and starts sipping the wine. Her intention is that the wine will suppress the rage that is boiling inside of her. If she is holding a knife and Silas is standing close to her, she will stab him. She doesn’t mind the repercussion of her sin. The anger in her can boil two eggs.
