Nathan wasted no time and hurried to Narvo Bank, the Gold card burning in his pocket. His heart pounded—not from excitement, but from the lingering sting of betrayal. But he needed answers, mostly at the moment.

As he approached the grand entrance of Narvo Bank, he barely had time to take in the opulent surroundings before two familiar figures stepped in his path.

Natalia’s mother, Thelma, and her younger sister, Joyce.

Sighting him, their eyes gleamed with something far less polished—contempt.

Thelma sneered, her red lips curling in disgust. “What the heck are you doing here, good-for-nothing?”

Joyce cackled, flipping her sleek brown hair over her shoulder. “Oh, please tell me you’re lost. This isn’t some rundown café, you know.”

Nathan clenched his fists but remained silent.

“Ah,” Thelma gasped dramatically. “Maybe he came to see us to beg Natalia to take him back. How pitiful.”

Joyce snorted, linking her arm with her mother’s. “If that’s the case, then he’s even dumber than we thought. My sister finally got her senses back and dumped you pathetic trash.”

“You’re right, my dear.” Thelma nodded approvingly. “Natalia deserves the best, not some useless freeloader who drags her down.”

Nathan exhaled, his patience thinning.

“I’m not here for Natalia,” he finally said, his voice even. “I have my own reason for being here.”

That sent Joyce into another round of laughter. “Oh? And what possible reason could you have for stepping foot into the prestigious Narvo Bank?”

Thelma scoffed, eyeing him like he was an insect beneath her designer heels. “Do you even have a bank account here? This place isn’t for people like you, twerp!”

With a smirk, she reached into her purse and flashed a bronze card, waving her card in his face.

See? A bronze card! It requires a deposit of at least one million! James helped us secure it. A real man knows how to take care of a family. But you?” She laughed, shaking her head. “You’re nothing. You're not even qualified to be a cleaner in this place.”

Nathan’s jaw tightened. He knew what those cards meant. Narvo Bank was the largest financial institution in the country.

Even their basic bronze card required a minimum deposit of one million. The higher the level, the greater the wealth. Owning a Narvo card wasn’t just about banking—it was about status.

“Believe whatever you want,” he said coolly. “I’m not here for you.”

Joyce rolled her eyes. “Then do us a favor and get lost.”

Thelma crossed her arms, looking down at him. “Yes, before someone sees you and assumes the bank lets just anyone in.”

They laughed cruelly, their voices ringing in his ears.

Nathan had no intention of wasting time on a meaningless quarrel. He exhaled slowly, took out the black card in his pocket and stepped forward, intent on entering the bank.

However, Thelma

and Joyce froze immediately as they saw the card in Nathan's hand.

“The Supreme Gold Card? !”

Thelma’s face twisted in horror. Her hand flew to her mouth as though she had witnessed something blasphemous.

“You son of a gun,” she seethed. “I know exactly what happened—you picked it up from some careless fool and decided to parade it around like it’s yours.

Or worse, you stole it!”

Joyce quickly jumped in, her voice laced with venom.

“That’s right! Do you even understand what this card is? This is the highest level of card at Narvo Bank! The people who own this are among the most powerful in the world! You—” she let out a sharp, mocking laugh—“could never have it.”

Nathan frowned, his patience wearing thin. “ I didn’t—”

“Guards!” Thelma’s voice sliced through his protest like a whip.

A tall, burly security guard in a crisp navy uniform marched toward them.

“Ma’am?” he asked, stiffening into attention.

Thelma pointed a perfectly manicured finger at Nathan. “This nasty man is a thief! He stole a Supreme Gold card, and I demand that you take him away immediately!”

Joyce folded her arms, nodding in agreement. “He’s a chronic thief. Desperate, pathetic, and now resorting to fraud.”

The security guard turned to Nathan, his expression darkening with disgust. “Stealing from Narvo Bank? You must be insane,” he sneered. “How shameless can you get?”

Nathan’s jaw clenched. “I haven’t committed any crime. I came here to check my balance, that’s all.”

The security guard barked out a cruel laugh. “Your balance? What, five dollars?” He turned to Thelma and Joyce, grinning. “Ladies, don’t worry. I’ll make sure this lowlife doesn’t get away with this.”

Nathan barely had time to react before the guard grabbed his wrist.

“Let go of me.” His voice was steady, but his eyes burned with quiet fury.

“Oh, you’ll let go once we drag you out.” The security guard turned, gesturing toward the entrance. “Boys! Get over here!”

Several other security personnel rushed forward, ready to seize him.

Just as they reached out, a sharp voice cut through the chaos.

“Stop.”

The entire lobby stilled. Heads turned toward the entrance as a woman strode forward with effortless grace.

She was mesmerizing.

Thick, dark curls framed a flawless face, her high cheekbones and full lips accentuated by the soft glow of the bank’s chandelier lights.

But it was her eyes—piercing and intelligent—that held power. She exuded a quiet dominance, her tailored black dress hugging her curvy figure with elegance.

The security guard’s arrogance crumbled in an instant. His throat bobbed as he stiffened.

“H-Hello, ma’am,” he stammered.

Taylor—the Head Manager of Narvo Bank—didn’t even glance at the trembling security guard. Her gaze was locked onto Nathan. More precisely, onto the Supreme Gold card in his hand.

Her lips parted slightly.

There were only nine of these cards in existence.

And Nathan was holding one.

“Ms. Taylor,” the security guard began nervously. “This man is a—”

Before he could finish, Taylor’s palm cracked across his face.

The force sent his head tilting to the side.

Gasps echoed through the lobby.

Nathan blinked.

Taylor’s voice was icy.

“You dare disrespect a Supreme Gold cardholder? Are you crazy?!”

Mara’s mother folded her arms, lips tight with suspicion as she stared at the glowing pill in Nathan’s palm. “So we’re supposed to believe that a strange young man appeared from nowhere with some glowing miracle pill, and we should just give it to my son? This isn’t a fairy tale.”Nathan said nothing. Her husband turned to her, voice pleading. “Please. We’ve come this far. Let him try. If there’s a chance Cliff can live, we can’t throw it away because of doubt.”She huffed but said nothing more. Her silence was enough.Nathan moved toward Cliff, gently lifting his head. He placed the Flameheart Elixir in Cliff’s mouth and helped him swallow with a few drops of water. Everyone watched in tense silence. The air around them thickened. One minute passed. Then another.Nothing.The mother’s face twisted. “Why isn’t he waking up?” Her voice cracked. “What kind of doctor are you? Did your pill fail?”Nathan remained calm, though his eyes narrowed in a calculating manner. He stared at Cliff,

Cliff’s body twitched violently, his breaths growing shorter as his limbs stiffened. Nathan crouched beside him, eyes tracing the spreading discoloration in his hand. The veins there had turned a sickly purple. He rose slowly.“He’s poisoned,” Nathan said, his voice calm but firm. “And it’s spreading.”Her father’s brows creased, astonished. “How do you know that?”Before Nathan could respond, Mara stepped forward, her voice trembling. “You’re right… My brother’s been suffering from an unknown poison for years. We’ve tried everything.”Nathan nodded, gaze still on Cliff. “It’s not just lingering anymore. It’s moving fast. His organs will begin to shut down soon.”Mara’s voice cracked as she asked, “Can you do something? Anything?”Before he could answer, her mother stepped between them.“Why ask him?” she snapped. “He can’t do anything. Call the village doctor. He’s the one who has kept Cliff alive till now.”Nathan looked at her, disappointment flashing in his eyes. But he didn’t arg

Nathan took a step closer, and stood still, his body calm but charged like a storm waiting to strike. The gang didn’t take his silence seriously.“Who’s this guy supposed to be?” one of them scoffed, tilting his head. “Her brother?”Another chuckled and elbowed the one holding the girl. “Hey, is he your brother?”The girl, her lips quivering, shook her head. “No… I don’t know him.”“Then get lost,” one of them said to Nathan, waving him off like a fly. “This is none of your business.”Nathan’s voice was low but deadly. “Let her go. I won’t warn you again.”The man holding the girl released her arm, smirking as if playing along. But the moment she tried to run, he yanked her back violently by the hair. She cried out in pain. “Ah—!”The gang burst into laughter.“Where do you think you’re going, sweetheart?” the leader mocked, his fingers still tangled in her hair. “We weren’t done with you yet.”Nathan’s fists clenched at his sides. Then the leader narrowed his eyes. “Wait… You’re not

The smell of old whiskey, cigarette smoke, and lost hope filled the air as James Baron sat in the dim corner of a rundown bar on the far edge of the city. He looked nothing like the well-groomed, sharp-tongued heir of the Baron family. His once ironed shirts were now wrinkled and stale, his jaw unshaven, eyes hollow and restless. His expensive watch had long been pawned off, and he’d been living from motel to motel, like a ghost avoiding the world. He kept his cap low over his eyes, occasionally glancing over his shoulder. The fear that Nathan might find him had become a choking weight on his chest. He had witnessed Nathan kill Kacper and Dr. Frank Fields, men who once walked like gods and it hadn’t taken him an hour to erase them both including their dozens of subordinates. James knew he stood no chance. Running had been his only option. His phone vibrated on the counter. He picked it up hopelessly.“Hello?”“You bastard!” a furious voice roared from the other end. “Is this how you

The villa’s rooftop carried a quiet that pressed gently on Nathan’s shoulders like a warm shawl. The stars above blinked slowly, as if watching him. He had chosen not to use the backyard that night. That space was filled with too much powerful energy which he was preserving it for his future pills, his creations. Tonight, he needed somewhere quieter, neutral, less charged. Somewhere his energy wouldn't be disrupted or lost. So, he sat cross-legged on the cool tiles of the rooftop, shirtless, bare feet firmly touching the stone. A soft wind whispered across his skin, brushing his damp hair back. His breathing slowed, eyes closed, and the world slipped away as he sank into a deeper layer of thought and presence. His mind, like a scroll, began to unfold.I have to be ready for Orilah, he told himself. Whatever danger lies there, I need to see it before it sees me.His consciousness moved inward, deeper than he had ever gone before. The buzzing in his ears faded, and silence took over. A

Heath dropped his half cigarette and Braxton leaned forward, eyes sharp and calculating as he scanned the dimly lit room. His knuckles grazed the rim of his glass, then tightened as a decision settled in his gut.“I've got a plan,” he said slowly, voice low and steady.Heath arched a brow, turning his head. His patience was already thinning, and Braxton’s calm tone only made the fire inside him burn hotter.“First, we need to run a background check on Nathan,” Braxton continued, his gaze now fixed on Heath’s. “We need to know how stable he is. Really know.”“Stable?” Heath echoed, voice hard and skeptical. He narrowed his eyes. “What’s that supposed to mean?”Braxton tapped the side of his temple. “I think he might be hiding something. And if he is, we need to uncover it. I’ll use every means I have… but I need time, Heath.”Heath grabbed the tumbler and downed the rest of his whiskey in one angry gulp. The liquid burned down his throat, but he welcomed the sting, it was a distraction
