Today, in the crowded courtroom, Dylan, dressed in a luxurious suit, walked in calmly. Valerie stood not far from him, stunned. Dylan looked so... handsome.

“Renting a suit to boost his image? Who does he think he is? Are you so dazzled by him that you’ve forgotten he’s just a tramp your grandfather took in, Val?” Max sneered, watching Valerie.

Max’s hand gripping Valerie’s brought her back to reality. She continued walking with her chin raised, her sharp gaze still fixed on Dylan. Standing beside her, Max grinned smugly, intentionally holding Valerie’s delicate hand as if to declare ownership. Dylan stood tall, his gaze calm yet piercing.

Valerie looked at Dylan with disdain, whispering a sharp remark when they were close enough. “Dylan, you think you can just walk away from all of this? This is only the beginning. I’ll throw you out on the street and erase every trace of you from the Haroldson family.”

Dylan met her gaze fearlessly and replied in a low, steady voice, “If this is the beginning, then you’d better brace yourself for what’s coming, Valerie.”

Valerie paused, clenching her fists as her emotions surged. She stepped forward, leaning in to glare at him before lifting her hand toward his face. “You filthy tramp, how dare you threaten me?” she hissed in fury.

Dylan didn’t flinch, staying calm as he said, “I’m only stating the truth. Maybe you’ve grown too used to getting what you want, but starting now, you’re going to lose everything the Haroldson family holds dear. All of it.”

Max, who had been watching the tension between them, could no longer hold back. He stepped forward, pulling Valerie away from Dylan and kissing her in front of him. “Is this enough to shut you up?” Max taunted Dylan between kisses as reporters began to gather.

The tension eased momentarily. Valerie looked at Dylan with hatred, while Max tried to keep his own emotions in check. As they walked into the courtroom, Dylan looked at Valerie calmly and spoke softly but meaningfully, “You’ll regret your decision, Val, until you’re down on your knees before me.”

With those final words, Dylan left them, ready to face the next chapter. Now, he knew the time for surrender was over. It was time to fight for himself.

---

Dylan sat quietly in the courtroom, silent as Valerie’s divorce petition unfolded before the judge. He didn’t say a word, simply watching Valerie seated across the table, her face showing a satisfied expression, as if celebrating a carefully planned victory. Max, now openly by her side, looked at Dylan with a sly smile.

“Mr. Dylan Haroldson, you’ve read all the demands from Mrs. Valerie. Do you wish to submit a defense?” The judge looked in Dylan’s direction, awaiting a response.

Without a second thought, Dylan nodded calmly. “I accept, Your Honor. There’s no reason to hold onto a relationship with Valerie Haroldson any longer—a woman who’s openly committed infidelity and wants to marry Max while defaming me,” he replied briefly.

Valerie’s expression shifted momentarily, showing surprise, but she quickly masked it behind a pitiful look. Max patted her shoulder, offering support as if to soothe her emotions.

Before the judge moved to close the proceedings, Dylan continued, “However, I have one final thing to say as Dylan Haroldson.”

The judge nodded, allowing him to proceed. The room fell silent, everyone’s attention fixed on him. Without hesitation, Dylan cast a sharp look at Valerie and Max. “Starting this moment, misfortune and poverty will haunt you both. Remember that.”

Valerie frowned, confused by his words. “What are you talking about? Are you done threatening me, Dylan? My family will no longer support someone like you, so stop acting like we’ll suffer without you. Hahaha... I’m not afraid, Dylan.”

Dylan gave a slight smile, this time devoid of warmth. “You’re right, Valerie. There will be no more Dylan Haroldson.”

His words brought confusion to everyone’s faces, and before Valerie could respond, Dylan turned to the judge. “Your Honor, everything that has transpired in this marriage has been well-documented by me. The Haroldson family may have thought they could toy with me, but it all ends today. I agree to grant my wife, Valerie Haroldson, her divorce.”

Hearing this, Valerie felt a tremor in her heart. What was happening? She quickly dismissed the feeling. “What nonsense is this? You’re nothing but a leech!”

Dylan stifled a laugh, looking at Valerie sharply. “Unfortunately for you, Valerie, you and Max are about to find out that the person you’ve underestimated all along is far more than you thought.”

The room fell silent again, the tension growing stronger. Max protested, “Do you think your little threats are going to affect us? You really are clueless, Dylan. You’re nobody!”

Dylan rose from his seat, now looking at Max without fear. “Alright, let’s see who’s nobody. The court will proceed with the divorce, and I’ll let the two of you plan the life you’re dreaming of. But don’t be surprised when all the support and connections you’ve boasted about start to disappear, one by one.”

Valerie and Max exchanged glances, confusion and doubt visible in Valerie’s eyes.

After speaking, Dylan turned and walked out without waiting for permission, leaving the courtroom with a determined face.

The divorce proceedings had been unexpectedly smooth, with only one more hearing needed to formalize the judge’s decision. Max and Valerie’s smiles stretched wider as the session ended.

Outside, Bill, who had been waiting, quickly caught up. “Mr. Ethan, are you alright?”

Dylan nodded. “Report on the Haroldson family’s activities daily, and let me know about any dealings between the Haroldson family and Max Miller.”

“Of course, sir. All our transactions with Mr. Max and the Haroldson family are in the file I sent to your phone. Tonight, Mr. Max has a dinner reservation at our Blue Sky restaurant. Would you like to intervene?”

Dylan nodded. “I want them out as soon as they’re seated and about to sample the appetizers.”

“Yes, sir. I’ll arrange that for you.”

Dylan then quickly headed toward the waiting limousine. As he took a deep breath, recalling all the moments spent at the Haroldson family’s house, he realized none of them were joyful or filled with appreciation. This time, with no burdens or fear, he was ready to show the world who Ethan Harrison truly was.

You’re just… too kind. Or too blind?”Ethan turned to look at her. Vanessa met his gaze with an expression full of quiet attention. The conference room lights cast sharp shadows on Gabriel’s face as he stared at the two people before him. Valeria sat upright, her fingers intertwined on the table, her expression calm despite the storm lingering in her eyes. Beside her, Max Miller leaned back slightly, his jaw clenched, his right hand tapping the table as if counting down time. “I don’t care what happened between you two,” Gabriel’s voice was low, but heavy with pressure. “Haroldson Construction and Macora are both on the brink. We have a common enemy, and I need assurance that you can work together.” Valeria took a deep breath, then nodded. “I’ll do whatever it takes for Haroldson.” Max let out a quiet scoff, his gaze flicking briefly to Valeria before settling on Gabriel. “And I won’t let Macora sink any further.” Tension hung in the air, but none of them backed down. They all knew this wasn’t about past wounds or lingering emotions. This was about bringing down Harrison Company, and none of them had any inte
