James was frantically packing up his things, preparing to run away. He had just heard that Peter had woken up after lying in the coffin for three days. It was unbelievable. He shuddered at the memory of Peter staring at him with his mask pulled down before he drowned in the river. If he didn't leave now, he might not be able to leave at all.

After grabbing some valuable items, James slung his bag over his shoulder and was about to open the door when it suddenly burst open with a loud bang.

"James, where are you going?"

"Pe... Peter, what are you doing here?"

James retreated as he saw Peter alive and standing before him. He had personally

drowned Peter that night. How could he

still be alive? Thomas closed the door with a flick of his hand and looked at the man in front of him with cold eyes. "What am I doing here?

What did you do three nights ago? You haven't forgotten, have you?"

At this moment, his heart was filled with killing intent. His true self had been murdered, and the current owner of this body had also been murdered. Both his soul and body were filled with resentment. He wanted revenge, and if this matter was not resolved, there would be endless trouble. Seeing that the situation was not good, James grabbed a chair by his feet and smashed it towards Thomas before trying

to escape. However, Thomas was incredibly agile and easily dodged the chair. He then grabbed James by the hair and pulled him back with force.

"Bang!"

James fell to the ground, his head hitting the ground with a buzzing sound. Thomas stepped on his neck with one foot.

"Tell me, why did you want to kill me?"

"Who is the other person?"

James struggled constantly, trying to move Thomas's foot, but he found that the foot was as heavy as a thousand pounds and he couldn't move it. At this point, he couldn't breathe properly and he anxiously shouted, "Peter, killing has consequences. You killed me now, and you will also be executed." Thomas sneered, "You're right, killing has consequences. You killed me before as God would have it, he brought me back to life to collect yours."

As he spoke, he exerted force again with his foot. James' face turned red, and his chest was extremely uncomfortable due to a lack of oxygen. He felt like he was about to die. At this point, he quickly said, "I'll talk, I'll talk. Let go of me first, I can't breathe!"

Thomas loosened his foot slightly, "Hurry up and speak, I don't have much patience." James said, "It's... It's someone who wants you dead."

"Who?"

"His name is Blade, but I don't know who he is!"

"You're lying, aren't you? You dared to attack me, but you don't know who ordered you to do it? Then I will kill you!"

"No, no, no, Peter, what I said is true... Thorn, it's Thorn. From beginning to end, Thorn was the one who contacted me, but he never told me who the boss was besides his nickname!"

Thomas said, "Thorn? The person who fought with you the night before you died?"

James said, "Yes, it's him."

"Where is he?"

"I don't know. That person is very mysterious, he came from Oak Hills. All I know is that some people call him Thorn... Peter, aren't you doing well now? I took three hundred thousand dollars, and now there's only one hundred thousand left. I'll give you all of it."

Peter laughed heartily…

"My life is only worth three hundred thousand in your eyes?" "James, there is some money that cannot be earned. Since you have earned

This money, you must die."

"You are an orphan with no family. Even if you die, nobody would care. Don't worry, I will give you a decent burial.

James trembled with fear. He saw the murderous look in Thomas's eyes and knew that he was not joking. In a desperate attempt to survive, he suddenly remembered something. "Peter, Peter, wait a minute. I have a secret about your daughter's illness. Don't kill me, and I will tell you."

"What secret can there be about Emma’s heart condition?"

"You will be interested. I promise, but you have to promise not to kill me!"

Thomas's expression became serious. After five seconds, he said, "Okay, I promise. You can speak now."

"Your daughter's heart condition was also caused by Blade who ordered Thorn to do it. He gave your daughter a poisonous pill that destroyed her immune system and eventually disrupted her heart."

"What did you say?"

Thomas exuded an endless murderous intent, as if it were substantial. He had never thought that someone could be so malicious, to do such a cruel thing to a six-year-old child. Who is this person and what is their purpose? Just as Thomas was pondering and trying to find out the identity of the mastermind behind the scenes in Peter’s memory, James suddenly jumped up, grabbed a hot water bottle, and smashed it on Thomas. Thomas was lost in thought and was hit by the bottle.

James took advantage of this gap, opened the door, and ran out. Thomas was about to chase after him when he heard a screeching brake sound and a dull impact at the door. He was taken aback and withdrew his foot that was about to step out. He closed the door, cleaned up the traces of the fight inside the room, and quietly slipped out from the back door. An hour later, he was back. He saw a van parked there, and James lying on the ground with blood under his head.

Thomas looked coldly for a moment and silently went back. He returned home with a lot on his mind. Thomas felt that he had to find out Thorn and also the mastermind behind Peter’s death, otherwise, the lives of Rachael and Emma would not be guaranteed even after his death, and he would not be able to sleep peacefully.

But in Peter’s memory, he didn't even know anyone from Oak Hill. So, it was probably aimed at Rachael! He planned to ask her indirectly. As a result, when he entered the house, he didn't see her, but saw his mother-in-law and Emma watching TV.

"Mom, where's Rachael?"

As a result, this question instead provoked a furious scolding from his mother-in-law: "She's working, unlike you, who are idle all day and addicted to gambling. What's the use of a man like you?

Thomas rubbed his nose and said, "Mom, I will go make money, don't worry."

His mother-in-law pointed at him and scolded,

"Worry my ass! Then go make some money! Your daughter's medicine is about to run out. It costs three thousand. You better come up with the money! If you can't, then go sleep under a bridge, beg for food, or sell your blood!"

Thomas frowned as he looked at her. In his previous life, he had never seen such a shrewish woman, it was like something out of a TV drama. Three thousand dollars was nothing to him. He used to spend more than that on a single drink.

But...

He had no money now. Thomas thought back to Peter’s life and realized that this guy was tragic, even more so than himself... He grew up without parents and was raised by his grandfather. But in his second year of high school, his grandfather passed away. Later, he married Rachael and they had Emma. Thomas noticed that Peter and Rachael had a good relationship in the first three years of their marriage. However, after Emma was diagnosed with heart disease, their financial situation worsened. Peter’s not knowing what to do turned to gambling to make money, which led him down a path of no return. In the end, he was killed.

Thomas sighed. The main problem now was how to get money, otherwise, the old lady would not stop cursing. He couldn't use his previous money, which was all in various mobile payment accounts. Suddenly, he had a bright idea. He remembered that he had a game account that he had spent a lot of money on, and he could sell equipment or the account itself. According to market prices, even selling it for a hundred thousand dollars wouldn't be too much.

However, there was no computer at home, so he had to go to an internet café!

The problem was that even going to the internet café required money, and he didn't even have enough for internet access... While his mother-in-law wasn't paying attention, he searched around the house and finally set his sights on his daughter's piggy bank "Baby, can daddy borrow 30 dollars from you? Don't worry, tomorrow daddy will give you back one hundred."

Emma blinked her big eyes: "Daddy, you can't go gamble!"

Thomas whispered, "I'm not gambling, Daddy is going to make money, but you can't tell anyone, okay?" Emma nodded: "You can take it!"

As a result, Thomas had just pulled out a 30-dollar bill from the bottom of the piggy bank when a loud voice sounded behind him: "You damn thief, you even want to steal from your daughter? Are you even normal?"

The man's face was full of admiration and excitement as he looked at Rachael and said, "Yes, it's me, Damon. I have been wanting to come and meet you, Rachael’s eyes looked a bit complicated. But seeing Thomas and their daughter looking at her, she quickly broke free from his grasp and took a step back, saying, "Damon, you...why are you still like this? I'm already married and have a child." "It doesn't matter. I know your husband was a jerk, the biggest scumbag in the world. But he's dead now, and I'm back. It's fate we got to see here! I don't care that you've been married and had a child. Your child will be my child, and we will have our children in the future." His eyes were burning with passion, and the more he looked at Rachael, the more he liked her. It had been several years since they last met, and she had become even more seductive and alluring. He couldn't help but want to hold her and kiss her fiercely. Just then, a hand pressed down on his shoulder. "Hey, are you ta

At that moment, a soft sound was heard. "Beep!" The payment was successful, followed by the sound of the receipt being printed. The young cashier who swiped the card for Thomas was a bit confused. Earlier, Adessa had spoken with such conviction, belittling Thomas to the point of worthlessness. Although she didn't say anything, she also had an inner disgust for such people and kept her distance. Even though Thomas said he would give her a commission, she didn't believe he could afford it. She was a bit slow to react, and the receipt had already been printed, but she still stared at Thomas in shock. "Is everything okay?" Thomas asked with a smile. "Oh, yes, sir. This is your bank card, and this is the receipt!" The cashier snapped out of her daze, then became overjoyed because the clothes Thomas bought would earn her a commission! Meanwhile, Rachael and her mother were completely stunned. They stared at Thomas with wide eyes, as if they were looking at an alien. Adessa shout

  • CHAPTER 12: RACHAEL WAS EMBARRASSED

After Damon left, Faith’s wife, Joan, said with a displeased expression, My daughter Veronica is pure and chaste, but he’s asking for your sister's daughter, Rachael who is married and even has a child. What does he want? Why does he want to become a stepfather?" Joan sneered, "Who cares what his problem is? Since he wants to marry a widowed woman, let him. With this relationship with our family, almost all the big businessmen who have been competing for that contract will finally let it go. Who knows, we might even be able to join the ranks of the top families in Lake City." Suddenly, Joan said, "Rachael’s husband, how did he die? Do you think it's possible that..." Joan's face changed and he said, "Don't talk nonsense. Anyway, it has nothing to do with us." In the community, Thomas and his group entered a clothing store. Because his mother-in-law said that they were going to attend her grandfather's 80th birthday party tomorrow and couldn't dress too shabbily, otherwise they w

  • CHAPTER 11: AMELIA’S FAMILY

Rachael was known as the most beautiful woman in the community, and it was not an exaggeration. Thomas felt that even though he had seen countless ladies, even big stars and models in his past life, his current wife was in no way inferior to them. What was rare was that she had a natural beauty without any makeup. But the problem was, he was not Peter. If he slept with her, would it be considered...cheating? Rachael sat on the edge of the bed, took out a cream, and wiped her delicate and beautiful feet. Thomas' nerves tightened. At this moment, Rachael said, "It's getting late, let's go to bed early. Tomorrow we have to take Emma to the hospital for a check-up and medication." "Oh, okay." Thomas looked at her slender legs, feeling a struggle between heaven and earth. Rachael said again, "I'll turn off the light now!" "Ah…" Thomas instinctively shouted. Rachael asked, "Is your wound hurting?" Normally, she couldn't be bothered to care about him, but today's scene of Thomas

Thomas touched his wound, only to get a handful of blood. The wound that was treated just got opened. He grinned bitterly: "It's okay!" Mr. Jackson was so angry that he slapped Michael’s head, and said angrily, "Quickly apologize to Thomas. Seeing Grandpa like this, Michael slapped his forehead, and finally came back to his senses, and said in surprise, "Grandpa, could it be... your leg has been healed?" Grandpa's leg has been in pain for most of his life, and it is a stubborn disease that can't be cured by famous doctors. "That's right, Thomas's medical skills are superb. After Mr. Jackson finished speaking, he still jumped on the spot and ran a few laps, laughing loudly. He hadn't run for many years and was so excited that he burst into tears. Seeing this, Michael was also extremely surprised and couldn't believe it. Knowing that he had misunderstood Thomas, he hurriedly bowed and apologized to Thomas: I'm sorry, I was just scared for my grandfather and misunderstood you j

  • CHAPTER 9: DR. THOMAS

"Can you cure my grandfather's leg? Do you know how many doctors have tried and failed to cure him?" Michael’s expression showed that he didn't believe Thomas's words at all. For they had consulted numerous doctors, both domestic and foreign, including experts in Indian and Western medicine. There were at least ninety, if not a hundred, but none of them could cure the old man's leg disease. Whenever the old injury flared up, he would be writhing in pain, rolling around in bed. And now, a young man dared to claim that he could cure him? It was ridiculous! If at first, Michael had wanted to befriend Thomas after seeing him fight off those thugs without backing down, but hearing what they said about him, he didn’t feel like befriending someone like that. Just then, a sharp female voice sounded, "Peter, with your mediocre massage skills, how dare you claim to be able to reset his bones? The technicians at the foot bath shop are better than you.
