Revenge starts - No mercy

Sophia stared at Eric with her mouth agape, she never imagined that she would see her ex-boyfriend who impregnated and abandoned her because, according to him, he couldn’t get married to a low class girl like her.

“You work here?” Eric asked her, fixating his eyes on her noticing how drained she looked. “I need to discuss with you.” He said, grabbing her wrist as he didn’t want Rylan to know their history.

“Let go of me, I didn’t come here to see you neither am I going anywhere with you.” Sophia shouted, forcefully pulling her hands away from his tight grip.

“It’s important, let go. Don’t work here anymore, I will give you whatever you want.” He said, moving closer to her.

He slowly turned his head to look at Rylan, who was looking with rapt attention which made him more desperate to leave with Sophia, making sure she doesn’t say a word to Rylan. “I will give you whatever amount you want, I will do whatever you want me to do I promise, just come with me Sophia, please hear me out.” He whispered into her ears.

“Let me go, I don’t want to have anything to do with you.” She shouted.

“Get out from there and close my door.” Rylan yelled.

“Sir, please I need to discuss with you.” Sophia begged, looking at Rylan while Eric tried dragging her away.

“I have nothing to say to you, don’t think of stepping foot inside this office, else you would be fired for real.” He said, looking away immediately.

“Is this how he talks to people? Rylan would never do that, he was too timid to even stand up for himself.” Rylan said to himself inwardly. “Come with me Sophia, I will give you a good position in my company.”

“Your company?” Sophia asked with a surprising look on her face.

“Yes” He responded with a soft smile on his face, shutting the door behind him.

“How can I trust you, after you abandoned me all these years?”

“I was a child the Sophia, I was confused and didn’t know what I was doing but I’m ready to take full responsibility now. Did you keep the child?” He asked anxiously and his heart raced.

“Yes, I did.” A frown suddenly appeared on his face but he quickly replaced it with a fake smile.

“Oh really?” He muttered.

“Yes, but he is dead now. He was diagnosed of a brain tumor and I couldn’t afford his hospital bills” She responded.

A soft smile appeared by the side of his cheek as he walked closer to her, stretching out his arm to give her a hug, but she pushed him backwards. “Everything is going to be fine now I promise you.”

“I don’t need your pity, all I need is a good paying job so I can clear off my debt. I did terrible things for money so I could pay my son’s hospital bills, which landed me in debts.”

“I’m so sorry about that, this is all my fault.” He said, wiping the tears that began to drop down her cheek.

“This job was my only hope, but now I got demoted to being a cleaner.” She said, staring blackly at the wall with more tears streaming down her cheek.

“I want to help you, I will help you just come with me.” Eric said, grabbing her wrist as he began heading towards the elevator.

“Stop!” Rylan’s voice echoed. “Why are you dragging my staff? Why do you seem to be in a hurry?” He asked with a stern look, pondering on why Eric seems to be in a hurry all of a sudden.

“I’m sorry sir, I just wanted to”

“It is none of your business, she is no longer your staff and I’m taking her away from this horrible place.” Eric shouted, trying to pull Sophia who was struggling to free herself.

Rylan sensed that something was off between the both of them as Eric couldn’t hide the anxiety written on his face. He needed to figure it out as soon as possible. “Who is he to you?” He asked Sophia walking closer to them.

“It has nothing to do with you, focus on making sure that no one finds out who you truly are ”Eric yelled, his gave flickered avoiding direct eye contact.

“I need the truth, then I can consider giving you back your position or promoting you, it’s all in your hands.” Rylan said, turning to leave.

“Sir, my son.” Sophia shouted.

“Shut up, I will give you whatever you want, any amount just mention it.”

“He is the father of my son.” She said with her eyes faced to the ground, wallowing in regrets. “We used to be in love, until one day he forcefully took my virginity and got me pregnant.”

“Forcefully? You mean he raped you?” Rylan asked, turning his head backwards to look at her.

“Oh, come on, you heard her say we were dating, how would you call that rape?” Eric asked with his face looking tensed.

“You raped me, you did, I told you I wasn’t ready. I kept begging you to let go of me but you didn’t. After you were done, you left me and asked for a break up that same night.” Sophia said; her eyes reddened as she cried uncontrollably.

A smirk slowly appeared on Rylan’s face. “I see Eric, you know you could go to jail for these right?”

“We were dating and I didn’t do anything wrong.” Eric defended himself.

“He got me pregnant and didn’t and denied being the father, he also said he couldn’t get married to someone like me with no status.”

“Enough of your lies Sophia!” He yelled, pressing the elevator button. “You are coming with me, regardless, you will get enough money to settle your debts.” He pulled her forcefully.

“Let her go else, I will call my security men to deal with you.” Rylan commanded.

“Why, you believe all these trash she said?” Eric asked.

“She is obviously telling the truth.”

“Sir, your promise. Can I go back to my normal job now?” Sophia asked, looking at him with her eyes widened with a sparkle of optimism.

“No, you remain as a cleaner or leave my company.” Rylan responded, walking back to his office.
