Mia thought deeply, realizing for the first time that she knew nothing about the man’s family she had married.

“Do you know anything about this man?” Celine asked with a raised brow. She could not imagine that Mia would marry a man whose family she had not even met. But judging by the look on her face, she didn’t need Mia to answer to know that she couldn’t feed her with any information.

She heaved a deep sigh and leaned back into her seat. This would be one of her most challenging journalism jobs, but her resolve hardened. This was only going to prove her sharp intuition as a journalist and help her elevate in her career ladder, possibly securing the position of the deputy editor she’d wanted but was always denied every time, if she managed to get a strong report on both Peter Nelson and Liam.

“So? Can you find out anything about him?” Mia asked in desperation.

Celine took a long deep gaze at her and could tell there was more to this than just finding out Liam’s secrets. She could s

  • Tied In Blood

It had been a few days since Aria found out the real truth about her father and knew who she truly was. For the first time ever, she had found her purpose, knew who she was, and what she was meant to do. And that morning, she had returned to where it all started. The birthplace of her truth. She stood by the old fireplace in John’s study, staring into the fading flames. Her father’s pendant hung around her neck like a reminder of everything she had discovered. Of everything she was now meant to carry.John stood near the door, watching her keenly. “You’ve barely slept, have you, Aria?” he said softly. But Aria didn’t look at him. Her mind was fixed on something more important. “I don’t have time to sleep.” She said.“You have time to think,” John said. “And what you’re planning… it isn’t what Peter wanted for you.”Those words finally made her turn. “I don’t care what he wanted anymore,” Aria said, her voice sharp. “I care about what this city needs. What I need.”John took a slow ste

  • Aria's Revenge

The morning found Aria in bed, wrapped up in floral sheets, staring at the ceiling. She’d been awake for about an hour now, rethinking her decisions. She knew it was the right thing to do; Zion didn’t need all the drama that came with her life, but why did she feel this way? Why did she feel guilty over choosing not letting him get hurt? After searching for that answer for a while, she finally heaved a deep sigh and got off the bed. Maybe it was all this bedrotting that made her feel like that. She wondered. On her way to the bathroom, she walked past her laptop and saw the half-finished message she had written for Zion. At that moment, she felt a sharp relief. One more glass of wine and she may have been foolish enough to press send. And now, instead of sending it, she closed the lid and walked past it. Enough waiting. It was time she stopped hiding behind guilt, doubt, and feelings she didn’t fully understand. There were questions still haunting her. And now, more than ever, she nee

  • Burn The Crown

After the whole incident died down, Zion stood in his room, staring at the blinking cursor on his laptop screen. His mind had spun far away, and even now, he didn’t know what to do. He had spent the last few days debating whether to release the encrypted files he had found on the Tribunal. Liam had warned him. Mia had warned him about everyone else he knew. But the truth burned too loudly in his head. Without any further hesitation, he clicked upload, leaned back, and watched as the footage spread like wildfire.Video after video, there was evidence of Tribunal soldiers executing prisoners behind cold walls. No trials. No defense. Just silent orders, and in some clips, Concord leaders standing in the shadows, watching and doing nothing. He knew it was a far stretch and did not show his family in a good light either, but he hoped this would stir things and wake the people, and just as he wanted, it happened. The people of the city didn’t sleep that night. By morning, the streets were f

  • The Trap

After they returned to the Moran estate, Liam exhaled in great relief the moment his eyes caught on Jack. He was bruised and hurt but they’d survived more together. He strode towards them and gently patted Zion’s shoulder. “You all right, son?”Zion pressed his palms to his temples. “I’m fine.” He said in much relief and glanced at Jack. “Glad you’re back.”Jack forced a small smile. “Glad to be back.”Liam and Jack strode towards the medical room. He needed to be treated and Liam still had some questions for him about Lucian. Later, after they had finished having breakfast, Liam asked Zion to join him in the drawing room which was located at a private corner of the estate. Zion hesitated at first. A conversation with his father always resulted in an argument and he wasn’t in the mood for another lecture. But still he followed.Liam closed the door behind them as soon as Zion walked in and gestured to a pair of chairs. “Sit.”Zion sank into one, the weight of unspoken words lingerin

  • The Night We Almost Died

They kept moving down the tunnel’s exit. Laura was leading them, following the directions on the compass. But the heavy sounds of Lucian’s men right behind them was only increasing. They shouted and opened fire, and then blocked their exit. Aria turned around quickly, staring at Laura, “What now?” “What do we do?”“Split up!” Mia shouted over the noise, gripping Jack’s arm as Laura covered them. “We’ll meet at the south exit!”Zion grabbed Aria’s wrist without thinking. “Come on!”They dashed through a side corridor, dodging falling debris and blinding lights. But as they turned the corner, the ceiling suddenly gave way.A steel door slammed down behind them, sealing them in. “Fuck!” Zion cursed, and slammed his fist against the control panel. Sparks flew, but the door wouldn’t budge.“Perfect,” he muttered, and dropped to the ground, leaning against the wall. Aria caught her breath, and scanned the dark chamber they were trapped in. It was covered in pipes that lined the walls, le

  • Loyalty In Ashes

After how things ended with Zion the last time, Aria never imagined she’d willingly step into Lucian Vale’s territory again. He was the last person she thought she’d ever go back to, or want to see. She had already planned a way to get off his leashes and all that was left was to do it. But here she was, walking into his home where everything smelled of danger and power. Aria heaved a sigh as she entered the room and paused. She whispered to herself, “Better the devil you know,” then pressed the elevator button with a shaky hand. She didn’t trust Lucian.tft She never had. But if she was going to stop what her father started, and maybe save herself, she had to play his game.Lucian welcomed her with his usual cold smile, leaning back in his chair as if he’d been expecting her all along.“Miss Carpi,” he said smoothly. “I was wondering when you’d come to your senses.”“I didn’t come to play your pawn,” Aria said, sitting down. “I came to learn how the board works.”Lucian chuckled soft
